Not sure if you're familiar with her band Amaranthe, but they are definitely worth checking out too. Her voice thrives with a lot of the ballads they do.

I know this is from 2013.. but as a citizen of the USA I have to say this song is better than practically everything American pop has offered for the last 25 years.
That's because this symphonic metal not pop. American pop music sucks, that's why I never listened to it. Of course, American metal has dipped in quality too, that's why I had to cross the ocean and start listening to European music cause they still have an idea of how to make good music. Wish we could get our shit together and bring back our style of metal, but it just ain't gonna happen. Americans just dont like metal... crying ass shame cause we had the best metal back in the 80's

I work in radio and have no choice but to hear American Pop every now and then. Although, I agree that rock has dipped in the states too; But, yes, I too have made the leap to European rock/metal. I think the one band I've found that has the best 80s rock/metal vibe is Crazy Lixx.. But at the moment I'm Really into Nightwish (Especially with Floor) also, Within Temptation, Evergrey, Vanden Plas, Circus Maximus, and Pagan's Mind. But, yeah, I agree with you.
@@maxpower2542 all great bands, and if you like 80's rock/metal style, try Battle Beast and Beast in Black. They share the same song writer but are two separate bands with awesome vocalists and Guitarists.

I've run the gambit in Europe: After Forever, Project Aegis, Lost Horizon, Delain, Crowne, Allen/Olzon, The Dark element, Pyramaze, DGM, Ethernity, Krypteria, Xandria, Kalidia... the list goes on.. listened to them all. lol When I go digging, I dig deep. Love finding new and great music. There's a band in Brazil called Vandroya whose singer is amazing, but can't find too much by them. Just three or four songs. I saw Amaranthe in Bristol England this year they were absolutely amazing and Elize Ryd's voice was beautiful it wasn't long ago that I found this and it's perfection if you ask me 😊

I love it that Elize isn't striving for that 'badass metal babe' look many others are. She seems very natural and being herself, just a cute girl who is a great metal vocalist. :)
Try to feel the song. If you can't then you cant but I feel a lot of emotion when i listen to this song. Timo has stated various places that having music that you can "feel" is the most important part of it all.
As good as Elize is with Amaranthe it is nice to hear her take center stage for once. And the song is pretty catchy, definitely have to check out the rest of the album now.

On the other hand, I had the chance to share the stage with you, when you visit Argentina in the late 90s, and it was a big surprise how you, and the rest were so simple people.
