WOW!! I'm not even sure how in the hell I missed such a great piece of work. I literally could not stop smiling watching this and dreaming of someday to see a place like this in my life time. Thanks Pete, with all your videos you share with us, I’m a true fan of Cabrinha and will certainly make my first Kite package a Cabrinha👊
LOVED it. I think this video stirs alot of feelings in people because this hits very close to home. I think we all are searching for a greater meaning in our lifes, real values and awesome experiences. But we believe we are stuck in our jobs/lives and therefore alot of people get pissed and start to call it cliché and ironic. I get it. I get that way too. But I do think that this clip is good for us because it reminds us of the core in all of us, that many of us have forgotten.
What a great piece on the value of pristine nature, remote islands, and the Pacific. It confirms our believe that natural sustainable living is the path to take and inspires us as we go out for funding on our adventure travel & ecotourism project... Tribal Adventure.
Really awesome video. I sailed across the pacific over 5 years in my 35ft race boat. Maupiti and Tahanea are legendary playgrounds in French polynesia. Tahanea uninhabited. The one thing surprising from Cabrina sponsored sailing trip is the kind of catamaran. Lagoon? Fountaine pajot? a kite video i would expect to see something high tech like Shuttleworth, a Chris White, Crowther, kurt hughes, or MM? Sums it up well
Pete Cabrinha! Well done! Dang, you rip, man. And Keahi is one of my favorite SUP and Kitesurfers. Good thoughts in the opening sequences. Thinkers are always questioned and criticized. Keep it up. I'm broke as hell, but I'm not hating on a bro that's doing well for himself. I'm gonna learn to Kitesurf. I may have to learn on my own, if I can't convince someone to travel to N. Baja to give me a few tips. Gonna search Craigslist for used gear. No extra cash for travel to places with lessons. But I'm 165 lbs., and I learned to SUP on a 88 ltr. 6'10" SUP in Baja beachbreaks, cause I got it for $150 used. Got an 8' 4" now, too. See my channel for a couple of vids before I broke the GoPro. I'm a thrasher, so I'll get it. Gonna mega-read over and over again about safety. Thanks again for the inspiration.
so people it's simple. If u feel overconnected and want to enjoy life really take a two months pause from your job, bring your old catamaran from your garage, sail to polinesia, inflate the kite, charge your 10.000 euros hasselblad, prepare your superzoom, the video drone, phones, mac pros and search the wind, search the surf and you will have achieved the value of being nowhere in this overconnected world. Then return to your job, lose it and restart..
Haha I think someone is jelaous :) but yeah you have a point. I think they do too though. Even if it's filmed by high tech cameras and all that, THEY who went there probably felt the "nowhere" they are trying to portray.
@@karins9927 I don't think he is jealous,he is merely describing the sorry state of kite surfing nowadays, where everything is about money and materialistic bullshit.....Greed has killed the original spirit of the sport.
@@karins9927 They went intentionally and directly to Tahiti to ride Teaupo'o when its was small and uncrowded. Just right for kiting and for Pete to be on camera at Teaupo'o. They gave it it a feeling of "nowhere", with a camera crew, jet ski, aerial and underwater footage, etc. They made a promo film with the Cabrinha Team contrived by the deceiful voiceover to makes us believe that they are nowhere. So jealous, very, understandably. Now, nowhere? In name only. Check this out: th-cam.com/video/hKGuE1b2JxE/w-d-xo.html
What an epic video.. Makes us wonder where the true happiness lies in our world.. By the way could someone please name the song starting at 9:41 ? thanks
Your video: underwater, up in the drone, the editing, the music--it's all super nice. But your writing is a little too hackneyed and trite. You know what I mean? It makes me roll my eyes sometimes; actually a lot of times. Give it up, man. Surf and play the music, but give up the lectern of cliches.
Amazing video, but the beautiful irony of the video seems to be lost on its makers. The film is about escaping from technology that governs our everyday lives forcing us to maintain social currency through our digital lives. However you have shared this movie on social media and the worlds for most public video outlet as a form of marketing. You are taking part in and contributing to the very medium that you are criticizing. The irony of the hypocrisy is hilarious. Why cant you just make a beautiful kitesurfing travel film without claiming some bullshit agenda that is self defeating in the first place.
Couldn't agree more, the pretentious nonsense espoused in the narration indicates Pete is really quite far up his own arse. Spoiled an otherwise cracking film.
Maybe they are trying to reach people on social media to remind them that there are more to life than starbucks and citylife (and yes social media)? that's my take on it anyway.

This has to be one of the best films I've watched this year, so awesome!
