    I 'm glade that there people like you that care to keep them going...I went to my first Chrysler school in 1972 at the Benicia Div..and the only one that certified on the Force engine in (cal) 1996) before it all went down hill. Not that i know it all, there an't day go by that you dont learn something new every time you tuch a engine....Its the enjoyment you feel when the come too life..the smell of the exhaust..soforth.....( I started working on them back in 1955..)

    Boy you have been at it a long time,hell i was born in 1978, but i was one of the youngest at getting my ASE L1 master automobile technician at the age of 20 and no i did not go to school for it. and yes you do learn something new every time, and yes that is one of my favorite thing's is to get something back up and running again when someone gave up on it.

    the funny thing about it is at the time Chrysler Outboard was the only part of the company that was making money for the company and thats why they sold it to US Marine to save the cars..this was told to me by Mr Green that ran chrysler OB at the Benicia,Ca, Div....JUst keep me in the loop on the little green Merc..thanks..

    I have a vintage 6 hp Chrysler just like the one in this video with the exception of a broken handle. Is there a way to find out what it's worth?

    I recently picked up a 1974 Chrysler. I found the fuel pump housing and diaphragm need replacing. Are these parts available? I would appreciate any advice.

    I use a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone down the spark plug hole, and ten use a strap wrench.

    Yes the 50 is a 1968 short shaft 4 cyl i and was my dad's motor,and i have spent 24 year's trying to get it to run at a good idle for more then 3 or 4 min. IS the at 3hp you are looking for a green top Comet?
    Yes i know about all the piston problem's with the big force motor's,and i think it is a shame but a Force motor is not a Chrysler after 1985 is when the quality of components went down hill.

  • @chrysleroutboarddude
    @chrysleroutboarddude  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yea i know all about that, my grandpa worked for Chrysler corp 1945-1986 (on the auto side) and i grue up running Chrysler outboard's. Grandpa had a 1968 9.9 dad had a 1973 6hp Sea King and i had a 1970 9.6hp Sea King. And that is why dad got the 50hp mercury he was pissed off of me running circles around him at the age of 9.

    If i was closer I'd talk you out of the 50 if its a 4 cyl..i am looking for a 3 hp thats just a one cyl of the mark 7..I got a 125 hp force coming friday..most the time i just condem them they have one or more pistons bad...and they dont want to spend big dollars to repair them..with new pistons getting harder and harder to find.(Wisco)..

      A firm in Australia will make you new pistons & rings from a in house " blank " or you measurements at a good price. Their name is JP Engineering. Goodluck. They are cast - then machined. Trev New Zealand. Auz Auz Auz Cobber !

    Well let's agree to disagree about the Force motor's. but on another note i think my 50 is mag ign.
    And i might have a line on a very nice single cyl green top merc for you.

  • @chrysleroutboarddude
