As a long time snap on user I would love to know why we paid $12,000 for this new verus edge and there are many things it cannot do but our autel $2,000 can. One thing for instance 2004 Land Rover the Snapon wont let you inflate the air suspension but the cheap autel will, newer land rovers work on the verus but not older. Also why is Audi and vw so terrible? You can buy a Ross tech cable with free lifetime updates for less than the price of 1 snap on update. I could understand if the software wasn’t available but it is. The scope is nice but there are a lot of scopes on the market. Idk what snap on does for research but they should hire some experienced technicians like myself that expect more out of a scan tool than the rest. For how heavily I am involved with diagnostics and all the new companies coming out with diagnostic tools it’s gonna be pretty hard to buy another Snapon scan tool. It’s not like it was 20 years ago when snap on was pretty much the only scan tool that worked times are changing.
or you can google the model you want, click on the "Shopping" tab and it will list pretty much anyone that has one for sale, new, used, Walmart, Snap-On, eBay, Amazon, etc, and you can pick for yourself from there, the only major point i would be concerned with is any warranty and or software support, so you can't go wrong buying direct from Snap-On but if your budget is tight and you do your research you can get one nearly half price.
