It does work . The problem with adding blades inbetween is that the leading edge of the lowest blade should always have the thickest part of it's knife in front of the next set of knives that will cut above it. As it splits the first lowest set, it lifts the log to the next set of knives then starts to cut them and lifts again to the next set, always compensating for the thickness of each blade. ( You can't make a piece of hardwood smaller by forcing it through a smaller opening it has to be cut cut first) When you have them backwards like you do here the split pieces are being forced through a gap they are too big to fit through. This makes the wedge dangerous to stand next to as the pieces are under serious load and can eject outward. You're running oak here which splits very easily but other species may not be so forgiving. Yes it forces it through it and it makes firewood but you should never let people stand around this wedge especially on each side of it, it has the ability to be very dangerous if not deadly. The top set of knives should be cut off and moved to accomodate the middle set.
where did u see the oak ? locust ash maple cherry then u should know more about steel AR-400 THEwedge made from before telling some one else about danger , the top wings where welded by factory and they ALL spread

I understand the alpha 6 is around 3000 lbs. What is the actual tongue weight when towed around? I see the wheels are on the wedge side with stands in the back.

will do a video on my new box wedge the i made a changes to it { 4,5 its too big for my aplication
same package of blades i got ,so 4 way no need for ,so box wedge for a large wood from 18''-52'' works great
@@saratogafirewood what size did you go with they make a 3 inch one as well and basically a kindling size as well.

not sure about tongue weight but 2 people can lift hitch side with out problem
I bought an alpha 6 last summer, did you say you made the 8 way yourself
yes sir 6way too big peaces then u have to respllit them to much work
