    TEAC never ceases to amaze me with their systems. I am currently considering buying one of their more recent products. This video is motivation to buy it!
    Thank you very much for uploading. I think I'll put this video in my favorites playlist!!

    I'm using Dolby C for practical compatibility reason.
    I had many decks in the past, actually having some other decks and most probably will have another yet.
    Dolby C is the most compatible for most of them. That's why :)

    Am I seeing correctly at 4:55? This deck has Dolby S??? Amazing! Dolby S is a RARE option! I just wish tape recorders weren't going the way of the dinosaurs!! I love tapes so much!!!!!

    Once Dolby C properly implemented and correctly setup, I like the sound of it.
    It reminds me R2R compression, I love, more than recording without Dolby somehow. Not talking about NOISSSSSS.....:)

    Is the recorded sound quality similar with recorded on one of Sony tc-k 970/555/990 es decks?

  • @tvfreak7777

    Nice demonstration ! I have two points to comment:
    1. You cannot compensate high frequencies with bias, when you do, you create really nasty distortions
    2. Why record so hot when Dolby C is used? When recordering at 0dB you will have much less distortion

    • @7AccordHomeStudio
      @7AccordHomeStudio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1.) Maybe true.
      2.) Not true at all. Having a great deck (I have 7010) it is possible to set the peaks until +5 dB. Of course it is tape dependent, but Maxell XLII-S does it well and probably TDK SA-X does as well.

    When you switch-on dolby, you should not exceed level above dolby symbol on vu meter, correct?

  • @andreiaudio

    Nice tape deck, but i was wondering why did yoy use dolby on such a good tape? Very good recording! Nice vintage accuphase btw.

    You can hear the Dynamic Difference between the CD and the Tape (Background Controll) during recording and switching between the CD-Source and the Tape Monitor. A Cassette Deck like this have around 50dB Dynamic and a CD have a max Dynamic from about ~96dB. It is interrest that nobody can hear a Differnce if you only play with the Cassette Deck. The SA-X is a good Tape but not the best you test this with a Position 'Metall' Tape from Maxell or Sony then you can hear a lot of more Dynamic. This is my experience. On Time Position 10:31 you hear that the Dynamic is not so good but your record is also not that what we want hear from this Deck. But last but not leased one of the Good Cassette Decks. I use a Pioneer CT-F1250 and this Deck have also the Meassurtment Controller to align the Bias and the Frequenzy Correction for the differnt Tape Material. Best Regards Volker

      Tape with Dolby C should have 75 dB dynamic range which is of course less than CD.

    With Pioneer CT-95 one of the best ever made tape decks. Forget Nakamichi Dragon

    • @MrCoopersonic
      @MrCoopersonic 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. There have been some amazing machines during the late 80ies; with TEAC, Pioneer, Akai and obviously Nakamichi leading the pack. Personally, I went for several of Pioneers CT-Series decks (CT-737, 959 and CT-93) and never regretted it. Built like the proverbial tank and sounding so close to the original CD or vinyl that it even matched my UHER and Revox reel-to-reel machines.

    • @PedjoGT
      @PedjoGT 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      carlosds MTV ......You cant say just that that this deck better or ct95 of any Nakamichi....this is not true at all. I have 8030 and 8000....my 680zx is overall better deck with one step better recordings and play. I hate 6030 and 8030 and reason is right channel peak hold is not work properly....left channel is ok. If you have 8030 see closely that right peak hold hold shortly or in slower songs not engage at all....on my 7010 and 8000s is all ok.

      You forgot about Aiwa XK S9000.Also absolute reference master cassette deck.I respect Teac V7000,7010,8030S,Pioneer CT-91,93,95,Akai GX95,75,Aiwa XKS 9000,Sony TC K-950,970,990.

      Some audiphiles prefer CT-93 than CT-95.CT-95 is very majestatic ,pretty and very advanced deck,however probabely maximal charged.CT-93 is heavier that CT-95.Of course frequency response 10-30000 Hz (metal position) is unique.Reference Master Mechanism is a same,very precize.Pioneer as first designed this mechanism.In 1990-1991 CT-91,91a were the best decks in the world

    The allignment of Record Level and Bias for tape type is wrong done and the recording is way to hot. The deck is a wonderful deck but it can do much better in skillful hands and with trained ears.

    • @manuelginjas6711
      @manuelginjas6711 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Lars Holst I completely agree Lars. And the CAL made with Dolby engaged?? Come on Ondrej! After CAL made without NR engaged, just switch Dolby S and modulate input about 0db and +4db max for type II; after that it's a very well sounding tape.And I'm sorry to disagree about your comment referring differences between Source and Tape: There are audible differences, mostly by your fault!

    • @italodaniel8273

    buenas noches,, te sugiero que al grabar NUNCA TE PASES DEL +0 ( números rojos) en este deck y otros.
    esto para evitar que al escuchar la grabación en otros deck y grabadoras no se escuche distorcionada.
    y si vas a volver a grabar el cassette se borre por completo

    Źle kalibrowana taśma. Przesterować można, przez chwilę, ale kalibruje się bez systemu Dolby, nagrywa się i odtwarza z systemem Dolby...

      that's also my opinion but I thought it was the fault of azimuth adjustment, of my kind of tapes used or of my stupidity or my dreadful ears and listening deficits :-) or, excuse me, because of my shitty tape recorder (Denon DRM-710)

    You don't need Dolby nr for recording from CD unless it's a bad CD recording

    • @7AccordHomeStudio
      @7AccordHomeStudio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably do not know what Dolby is used for. It is not for eliminating noises on the CD... it is for eliminating tape hiss. If you record by using Dolby C and play it back when turned on as well you will hear it. The dynamic range will be improved and the tape hiss goes away. If your source CD has bad mastering there is nothing to do with Dolby. It will be bad with or without it, but without Dolby you will have bad mastering + tape hiss.
