The music from Far And Away wasn't used only for the Treasure Planet PS2 game trailer. It was also used for the underrated masterpiece's trailers and TV ads.
Great video honestly! Id love to see you cover stuff like parts in movie tie in games that are not in the movie like how the lion king on Genesis/SNES has the volcano level that was going to be in the movie but was cut. Since the game was being made at the same time they just kept it in I guess!
That was a really interesting video. 👍 I mostly didn't know about many of these things, since most I got games with polish dubs, which also meant that the clip was taken right from the movie instead of the early version (since the process of dubbing happened later). It's good to know other languages and find things like that. :)
These weird compressed FMV clips in early licenced games always makes me giggle now as an adult! but when i was younger i found them amazing and so cutting edge and was one of the reasons why I love licenced games so much because i got to see scenes from the movie that i loved while I played it! and this was an amazing look into the subject, and was definitely a video I didn't know I needed until I saw it! keep it up buddy!!!! ❤❤
@@idonthaveanose they just reek of nostalgia to me! 😅 and as a kid i honestly never noticed the differences, but this is so fascinating and interesting of a topic to me!! Why is no one else talking about this subject?
This was a great video idea. I did not know they were redub, most of these games I played the PC versions and they did not have cutscenes or background level music (ex Tarzan and Hercules) . I thought the ps1 version really had legit cutscenes from the movies but low res . 😮shocking to see they are redubs and edits
I wasn't sure if this was common knowledge so it was a bit of a gamble as to whether people would find it interesting. The Bug's Life/Far and Away clip has always baffled me.
My favorite part of playing these games (except Road to El Dorado, Atlantis: The lost empire and Simba's mighty adventure, i never got to play those) Happy sunday, Buddy. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
It was always a bit of an interesting case when movie tie-ins would use early versions of clips from the movie, I too am of the opinion that it's lazy to use footage from the films as cutscenes but it's still kinda interesting seeing some games use early versions of scenes. One interesting use of movie clips I've seen in a tie-in game is in the Spiderwick Chronicles game (not Disney, but bear with me for a moment) where Arthur Spiderwick narrates over any clips taken from the movie. 1:09 - I too sometimes find games I really like after their initial release after the hype dies down, Kingdom Hearts happens to be one of them (though I'm not too big a fan of the overarching story of the series, I got into the series in the early 2010s) 3:40 - I love this early version of the Toy Story 2 road crossing scene. 3:54 - I'm an American who lives in the US, so I never knew that in the International versions a globe of Earth during Buzz's speech, I always assumed it was a different flag depending on where you lived. 6:21 - I'm somewhat impressed how similar sounding JP Manoux can sound to David Spade's take as Kuzco at times, you can tell it's not David Spade sometimes but he makes a commendable effort. 7:02 - Dennis Leary this definitely is not. 10:36 - The contrast is night and day on this one. 12:12 - Not only in the trailer for the Ps2 game, but also for the earliest trailer for the movie curiously. 13:06 - A little awkward without the sounds from Hopper.
The funny thing about the Ant Bully game is that it doesn't use clips from the film or offer them as rewards for fulfilling a criteria, a good majority of the cutscenes are animated in-game and/or pre-rendered, it's a sorta Legend of Zelda clone with a mission-based structure and it's actually an okay one at that. The only reward you get is for collecting 100 Fire Crystals, which unlocks the ending to the game which abruptly cuts off as soon as Lucas leaves the colony, these crystals are used by Zoc [the Nicolas Cage ant] to create a potion that'll return Lucas back to his human size, seems a daunting task but they're actually easy and convenient to find and if you get a Gold rank in every mission you'll get 10 additional Fire Crystals.
I thought about it years ago when I covered the game, but also figured that so many other TH-camrs have reviewed it. I'm not sure I'd have much new to say.
A big thank you as usual to those who joined for the premiere! Hope you enjoyed, see you soon!

That's a really good idea actually!
4:03 *Fun fact:* The background music in the NTSC version has the US national anthem, while the PAL version has the One World Anthem instead.

Very interesting, honestly. Hmm, I wonder if Ant Bully has these types of rewards guess well see when you review it.

@@TheMasterJay Truly the greatest game of all time.
How many games do you have left to review?
The list is never-ending. 😂 Next game review will be Brave, following the movie review.
People always shit on licenced games but Disney games actally had some decent effort put into them.
Agreed, for the most part
I love Tarzan
