You made a full grown black man cry. I can totally relate. The struggles of being an independent filmmaker. Congratulations on getting it done. I loved this video. I'm glad you went ahead and got it filmed yourself. There's a point in life when you say, "You know what? I'm not going to wait around for other people to make my dream happen. I'm going to get it done myself." The world needs more people like you guys. Very awesome! I can't wait to watch the film. And my heartfelt condolences on your father's passing.
Desmon! Thank you buddy. Really awesome of you to check out the link and watch the vid. You're so right, just got to get going sometimes. Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words and I genuinely can't wait to share the film with you. And genuinely, thank you for your condolences x Elliot
This is as close to Fan Mail as one can get these days, and it is NOT being wasted! Your COSMOS is a treasure that is more, much more, than the sum of it's parts or the intent of it's creators. My whole life as a movie-goer would be deminished if COSMOS had not been made, I know that now. Your "Making of" Featurette only adds polish to an already dazzling diamond of a production. Kudos to the Brothers, and to all who brought their passion and skills into the mix to make it happen.
Jake! No, thank you so much for your generous comment and taking the time to watch our vid - I'm inspired to hear from a fellow filmmaker! Don't ever give up, work hard and with passion and you'll make your film. Please join us over at facebook.com/EllianderPictures where we have a network of filmmakers like yourself all sharing and learning from one another. Cheers, Elliot
Ive watched cosmos more than a few times now, as i wrote on the TH-cam film comments- You guys did an excellent job, it reminded me of one of my favorite kids' movies, "explorers ", also has a little essence of "Signs" ; another favorite of mine. You should be proud of the quality of your film, as im sure your Dad is as well.
Dude, thank you! Really appreciate your awesome comment! We'd love to have Cosmos on Netflix so thank you for shouting loud. Genuinely, thank you for taking the time to check out our film. Cheers, Elliot
you are welcome, your movie is amazing I deeply have a strong feeling it will be accepted globally, great teamwork. The bts made me wish I was part of the team, May your passion for film making keep on burning. I wish you guys all the best. #cosmosfornetflix #cosmosfortheworld
Many keep saying that this movie was too long. Where? How? I say that most Americans have been weened on movies that get right to the point, and just get it done with. This movie in my humble opinion is perfect in its length, for it sets up perfectly the life of an astronomer, who most of the time is just sitting there waiting...measuring...watching... waiting...comparing...observing... listening...waiting...shifting frequencies...waiting...recording... waiting...analyzing...waiting...and the overwhelming giddy joy, when they find those precious bits of discovered data, that furthers along our science. You feel this watching the llllooonnnggg film. It is perfect in making us live the life of an astronomer. And what it also shows, is how easy it is to spend your life dedicated to this science, and by some greedy fool, or political expediency, be discarded, and made to feel superficial, and become unrecognized by others in spite of your personal sacrifices and contributions. The movie depicted 4 nerds relegated to the dust bin by corporate greed, and society's disregard for the pain and dissatisfactions many in science endure for the rest of us. No.......the movie is just the right length. The director, and stars have performed a miracle. It is about time that the obese, lethargic, dull, insipid masses of entitled humans, who sit in comfort, get a taste of the bitter fruits many scientists have to traverse through for the sake of our scientific progress. And this movie brings this home. Awesome job guys.
This comment - wow. Thank you Wateringman. Thank you for watching our movie, thank you for coming on here with such positivity and support. Just thank you! :D You're totally spot on about the messages behind the movie and the intentional pace of the experience. We hope that when things really get moving the audience feels rewarded for their investment, that the discovery really means something and that the risk feels real. I'll be forwarding this on to our Cosmos whatsapp group so our actors can see what you said, it'll make their day! Also, if you could spare 2 mins would you mind leaving us quick rating or review on imdb? It'd really help us out (no pressure though your comment was incredible haha!) x www.imdb.com/title/tt4477292/?ref_=tt_urv
Vincent Van gogh thank you! Yes we’re lucky to have each other, we don’t really enjoy filmmaking on our own, it’s the shared experience of creating something together (like a band) that motivates us. And yes our Mom was extremely supportive throughout this whole process. Cheers Elliot
Answering to your questions at 5:45 everything was done right .The camera work , cinematic everything was perfect ...and I literally cared about the character and wanted them to succeed .Keep making such movies your dad will be very proud
Gosh, thank you so much Amol. Sorry it's taken a week to reply to this. Comments like yours mean so much, Elliot actually read it out to me while we were having a walk break from work. Thanks for your support and your kind words. Welcome to the astro-nuts my friend x

@@Elliander I saw the movie a week ago ,never before I have felt so engaged with the characters searching for little green men..a fantastic work of art .Keep up the good work
@@Elliander Yes I rated the movie 10/10 ...why the hell is your rating so low ..I guess people don't appreciate good movies ..Never mind you have earned a fan today
@@amoldalwai3961 Wow. thank you so much, what an incredible rating - really appreciate it. It's low because we were hit with some trolls early on and we've never really recovered from it unfortunately - they were convinced we were paying people to leave good reviews of the movie so tried to pull us down. A shame what some people will resort to. Still, knowing that there are plenty of people out there enjoying the film is all that matters to us. Perhaps in time it will rise up a bit :) x
I am amazed how something this GOOD, can be made with NO BUDGET! I really enjoyed the movie, in fact, one of the best movies I watched in past 2 years! I have mad RESPECT for everyone who participated in creating this masterpiece of a movie! You guys made history!!!
Thank you so much my friend! From all of Team COSMOS, we truly appreciate you. For taking the time to watch the movie, to finding us online and reaching out with such kind and supportive words. We mean it when we say that COSMOS was made for you, so thank you for making the film what it now is. If you could spare us a few mintues to give us a rating and/or review on imdb to give future or potential viewers your insights, we'd really appreciate that - www.imdb.com/title/tt4477292/ - but if not, that's no worries at all, Thank you all the same. What a great movie! I would have never known it was shot on a BMPCC Camera and on such a tight budget. It looks and feels as professional as any film. Great acting, characters, story, and cinematography. Well done!
Hi Scott! Wow, thank you so much my friend. Elliot & Zander here, the directors, just wanted to thank you for watching our film and taking the time to reach out with such support - it means a lot to us and the whole team that helped put Cosmos together. And yeah! That OG BMPCC is a little powerhouse of a camera, never to be underestimated. Thank you again and wishing you all the best, Ell & Zand
This movie is so underrated that it's a crime. I tell anyone that i talk to about it & to be prepared for the last 10 minutes to possibly give you anxiety. I've never had a movie like this literally put me on the edge of my seat. Well done (one could hope a sequal will be made)
Boudicca, kicking ass and leaving amazing comments since 30AD. Thank you kindly. Honestly means the world to us, as you can see from the video there's just a tiny group of people behind this film and reading comments like yours means everything. So thanks for giving our film a shot and thanks for coming on here and leaving such an amazing comment. In the midst of our global pandemic, we in filmaking are trying to figure how we can get back to producing and shooting while keeping ourselves and others safe and healthy. You guys from COSMOS are not just such remarkable inspiration, you've provided us the BLUEPRINT on how to create the new norm of filmaking. Now, I just hope our traditiona-thinking clients will see the infinite possibilities that COSMOS represents. Congratulations, filmaking heroes!
Cesar! Wow, what a comment, thank you so much. Thrilled that you've found this inspiring and motivational. You're quite right, I feel a great change is coming and the industry may look quite different after this virus. Look in dumpsters and keep that low budget ethos alive. As a former garbage collector, I can tell you it's surprising what people throw away, and I've seen many wheelchairs in the trash.
I've only just got around to watching this incredible film. I really have to say what an unbelievable job you guys did bringing this film to life. Nice one lads!
I just finished watching Cosmos today. I stumbled upon it on Hulu and thought to myself that I will get bored after the first few minutes. What surprised me was, that I couldn’t leave my chair for the whole two hours of the movie. It was that good. This is what filmmaking is about. I would watch this on the big screen if it was out again over many “blockbuster” movies out there. The ending brought everything together and blew me away. The music score was amazing. Congratulations to everyone involved and I hope to see more from you.
Thank you so much Ray for giving Cosmos a chance! We're thrilled you enjoyed it - it was made for you. And thank you for taking the time and reaching out with such incredible support, we really do appreciate you and you words mean so much to us. We're working on our second feature now, another sci fi adventure called The Deep, and can't wait to share it with you. Thank you again my friend, hope you're safe and well and please stay in touch. Best, Elliot
Thank you Jim - that's very kind of you, your words mean a lot to us. Just finished seeing it. Wonderful work. I'm a Scifi fan , and tired of movies full of special fx, and no trama. COSMOS has it all. IT kept my eyes glued to the tv set. When Mike talked about Arecibo, my heart bumped. Congratulations for this fine work.
Thank you so much my friend, from one scifi fan to another, your words mean so much, Cosmos was genuinely made for you so we're thrilled you found it and you enjoyed the story and adventure so much. Cheers for giving it a watch and connectinng to share your experience. All the best, Ell & Zand
Saw the film last night. Wonderful. Can't say enough good things about this movie. I can't stop thinking about it and how wonderful it is. Thank you for this great film
I watched this movie last night on Tubi. This movie is fantastic, it’s crazy how they were able to make a production with no budget and better than many Sony films. A sequel would be great.
I just watched this last night. I was riveted by the story, and believed I was watching a high-budget Hollywood film. When the credits rolled, I was shocked at the brevity. What these guys did with so little, is a textbook example of shoestring film making. If it's not already, this film will be used in film classes for a long time as an example of what passion can do in place of money. If I could buy stock in human beings, I would invest in these guys, because it's for sure great things are ahead. What could they accomplish with an actual feature-length budget? Something tells me they won't have to look far for funds for the next picture.
Hello there my friend, Elliot (Cosmos Co-Director here)... wow. Actually WOW. Your comment has blown me and my bro away. Made my week! Sorry it's taken 4 months to reply to you so cheers for your patience. But thank you so much for your kind words of support and for giving Cosmos the time. We really really appreciate you and we mean when we say that Cosmos was made for you. We were inspired to make Cosmos the way we did by other filmmakers so to think that Cosmos might be used to pay that inspiration forward to the next generation of filmmakers is ultimate success for us. And to have you belief and support just makes us want to go out there and do it all over again - which we're working on right this very moment - our next feature which is more ambitious in story and budget - so fingers crossed it won't be too long before we can bring you another adventure and deliver on that belief you have in us. Thank you again, all the very best to you and sending much gratitude. Elliot & Zander
Kevin's Spoken English Kevin thank you so much my friend! It’s amazing to connect with you. We are touched that this video moved you. And you’re right, black magic are an amazingly supportive and enabling company. Many thanks again, from the whole of team Cosmos. Cheers Elliot
Just watched it. Knowing the budget (zero) and delivering such a well-shot and great directed movie is unbelievable. It's not only a sci-fi movie but a good written movie about friendship. And that soundtrack/sounddesign...Fjieuw... Hollywood can learn something about these guys.
The stuff dreams are made of. Dedication. Hard work. Fun. Love for the cinema. Friends. Laughter and Passion. Truly inspiring and historical. This is one 101 on no budget and creative filmmaking at it's best.
Villeins, thank you - what a wonderful comment :) Hopefully the love and passion comes across here, it was a real challenge but that's what brought us all so close and made the experience so special. This movie is amazing. I have it on blu ray which I purchased when lockdown was in place. I would say this movie is my 2nd favourite movie of all time behind Everything Everywhere All At Once. The production on this movie feels like it cost around £10million+++ to make. It just goes to show when passion and a big driving force and Love creates a movie which hits the mark in so many ways. Thank you all involved in this wonderful movie for sending me on an emotional and exciting ride. Please carry on making movies as you all have so much talent.

I have just finished watching Cosmos, what can I say about it, what is there not to say. The relationship between the characters is perfect , they are actually really living these emotions , the scripting , the production is one of the best if not the best i have seen on a movie of this subject , i have to rate it up there with close encounters of the 3rd kind. Everything was done exactly the way its supposed to be , you can tell there is a passion for this subject, I was moved and felt the emotions all the way through this. I really hope the makers of this movie see this review......I myself have had several sky watches with activity and been involved in this subject a very long time, and know or at least have conversed with some of the biggest players on the scene.
Wow, well Patrick we've read your comment and we're blown away. COSMOS was 100% made for you, you understand it, you've lived it and we're beyond thrilled that you connected with it so deeply. Honestly, given your understanding and connection with the subject, this is ultimate success for us. We wanted to tell a story of friendship and hope and put science and astronomy into the limelight - it's a vast and beautiful field if study and there are few things more awe-inspiring than looking up to a night sky and wondering what's out there. Close Encounters is one of our favourite films so to even be mentioned in the same breath, let along compared to that masterpiece is an honour. I can't tell you how thrilled we are, genuinely to hear from you - it's not lost on us at all. Thank you for taking the time to watch COSMOS, thank you for taking the time to reach out to us and thank you for being so kind and supportive - we both really appreciate you. I hope you're safe and well and thank you once again, all the best, Elliot & Zander
Also, if you could spare us a few minutes to give us an IMDb review and/or rating, we'd really appreciate that as it would give future and potential audiences the benefit of your experience as a viewer and astronomy/sky watcher. Cheers if you can but we of course understand if it's not possible www.imdb.com/title/tt4477292/?ref_=tt_urv - many thanks again, E & Z
WOW!! I was in tear's at the end of this movie and felt extremely moved and this hit my soul. I think it speaks to the premise of the movie, in that Roy the Engineer states, we are searching for who we are, why we are here and is there meaning to it all. This delivers a sensory child-like sense of wonder and that wanting to find an answer, which I guess is why we look up at the night sky. The ending was an answer to our reach out. Our original signal from the Arecibo dish with our message and the way they tackled this had me on the edge of my seat with the life form commonality but had me thinking in a religious way too, like we have found proof of God and the mirror image of the modern-day Shepard's viewing the star of David. Very profound and I couldn't stop thinking about the concept long after the film had finished. The music score was emotional and really made such an impactful complement to the story and movie as a whole. The characters and their development was amazing and a joy to watch unfold and the dream of science was held aloft on their shoulders. I can only thank the directors for their vision and what they have accomplished is nothing short of one of the best movies I've ever seen. I watched Clara recently and loved that movie too and very similar but this was just wonderful. I wanted to go back in time and become one of these guys by being able to be in this field of astronomy and science. A childhood dream, but "wow" thank you for this movie indeed.
Wow Brian! Elliot and Zander Weaver here, apologies for our slow reply in getting back to you. But WOW! We're blown away by your comment and your depth of understanding about the film and its narrative. Truly COSMOS was made for you, we say that to people who truly get it but in your case, it's as if you understand the very reasons we wanted to make the film as well. Really loved reading about the religious interpretation of the ending, that's not something we'd considered at all but you're right, that symbology is definitely there. We know it was a while back now that you saw the movie but could you do us the honour of sharing some of your thoughts about the film by giving us an imdb review at www.imdb.com/title/tt4477292/ - honestly we think a lot of future and potential viewers would enjoy and benefit from your take on the story. All film makers have had their share of trails, and these guys shows how it's so worth it to keep pushing. Looking forward to more films to come from these guys!
Hi Charles! Great to hear from you, especially being a fellow filmmaker, and thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch - sorry for our 5 month delayed reply so thank you for your patience. It's definitely worth fighting for your passion so keep going, keep creating and we'll be there at the finish line with popcorn in hand on the front row. I hope film school is going well and you're enjoying learning. All the best buddy and thanks again for your support - Elliot
@@Elliander kind words Elliot, I really appreciate that! Looking forward to the films you and your brother have to come! Here's to hard work and good art💪👌

Another point I would like to make, is I think the anomaly reacted to Mike and his thoughts telepathically. They have proved telepathy works scientifically recently with 10 different people playing Tetris together linked up with electrodes and they played using their minds. Mind-boggling. I think this gave an interpretation of thought process and the human mind and our connection overall to the universe and atoms and energy. Commonality will be there to find and it all seems designed for organic matter. A huge sorry for the loss of your father too and I'm sure he would have been so proud of what you have accomplished here. A special movie that I will certainly recommend on.
Okay Brian, so telepathy is one of the best ideas and theories we've heard about the movie and honestly, we wish we'd come up with it! It'd be in the movie for sure if we had. It really does link us even more to the fabric of the cosmos and all in it. Bravo. Finally, thank you so much for your kind words and condolences for our father. It really does mean a lot to us that you think he'd be proud - we tried our best to make something in his memory and keep him alive in the work that we make. So thank you again. Thinking again about your comments about ever atom and energy being connected, he's out there somewhere we can feel it - and that's what we see when we look up at the night's sky. Thank you once again my friend. Please stay in touch and if you want to follow our next film please join us over at instagram.com/ellandzand - all the best to you, much love from the Weavers and all of Team Cosmos
Hands down one of my favorite movies now. I love this movie and tell everyone I can about it. Wonderful movie can't wait to see more . This movie is so good it should be in cinema everywhere. Great actors great story and a great job. It is amazing movie.
Nick, thank you so much - ah, support like yours is utterly priceless, we are very lucky. Thanks for giving our movie a shot and thanks for coming on here with such positivity, it is truly appreciated. If you could spare 2 mins, please consider leaving us a rating or short review on imdb but there's absolutely no pressure to do so - your comment is worth far more to us.
Best movie I’ve seen in years. Saw it last night, been thinking about it all day since. The race against the clock at the end was something else, had my heart going and was willing the guys on all the way. Didn’t think the end would have the pay off I was hoping for but it went beyond what I was hoping for. Thought the music was brilliant as well. Honestly it was the best movie experience I’ve had in a long long time.
Hi there! Elliot & Zander Weaver here, the directors, just wanted to say thank you for giving Cosmos a chance and for taking the time to reach out to us and let us know you enjoyed the adventure - Cosmos truly was made for you so we're thrilsled you found it. We need more people like you out there. Thanks again and I really hope you enjoy the movie if you get the chance to check it out. All the best x
This was beyond anything I expected in the most incredible and best way possible. I love sci-fi films and just astronomy as a whole, and randomly coming across a trailer for this film on TH-cam, I decided to give it a shot, and boy was it worth my time and then some. The cinematography, dialogue, character development, EVERYTHING was so amazing, my jaw is still on the ground after watching this and realizing how little amount of people, but with absolutely HUGE efforts it took to bring this to life. This is so inspirational to not just hopeful filmmakers, but to anyone and everyone who has their own passionate visions and dreams. Thank you for creating such a beautiful and entertaining film. This was original, quality, and simply wonderful, and it will be a film I will certainly come back to in time. I can't wait to see what you guys will be able to do with some helping hands for your future projects. Best of luck!
Wow, Cuhrean - wow, what can we say, what a shining review. How lucky we are that you decided to take a shot with this film - thanks for being so supportive and positive and leaving a comment that brought a smile to both my brother and I. If you could spare a moment would you mind leaving us an quick, honest review or star rating on imdb? Holy shit. I saw the trailer for this and I assumed it was shot on the p4k.. this camera is so amazing and so is what you guys did with it. Literally did what people think is impossible without a 100,000 red or arri. I’m never letting that thing go.

I just finished watching the movie and it was absolutely amazing, ive been binging alien movies for the past 3 days and nothing as cool as this, the best part was to feel as if you were there right inside the car, i really wish there is a sequel, hope its a bit different and not too cliche to the other alien movies, definitely could connect with the characters, i was astonished when i just looked up on TH-cam and found out it was a $0 budget movie, expecting more movies from you guys, great job 👍🏻
Maybe it starts off with video clips of the craft, a montage, by citizens. they then leave an artifact that humanity must decode, you don't see the aliens. I think it would ruin the magic. The guys team up to solve it añd it turns out to be the equation for FTL, faster than light travel. It turns out the guy who worked on the satellite is now needed to work on a probe that will be fitted with the FTL drive to visit a new world.
Amazingly well done to you all! I made two feature films, first zero budget, very small crew and took about 5 years, which got picked up by Mel Gibson’s company Icon and the second, a much bigger movie, made for about 30k without deferments. Just saw it on Netflix so hopefully you managed to sell the movie for what it was worth and you did not get ripped off. The movie did not look zero budget at all and you both got really good performances from the actors/crew.
Thank you so much Charles, coming from a fellow filmmaker that understands the journey and the effort that goes into every frame your support and kind words mean a lot. Awesome to hear about your success too, what are the names of your films so we can watch your work? Cheers and all the best, E & Z

As a college student with no money struggling to create a film, this has given me complete inspiration and hope! Thank you guys so much!

You feel this watching the llllooonnnggg
film.

Just thank you! :D You're totally spot on about the messages behind the movie and the intentional pace of the experience. Look in dumpsters and keep that low budget ethos alive. As a former garbage collector, I can tell you it's surprising what people throw away, and I've seen many wheelchairs in the trash.

What surprised me was, that I couldn’t leave my chair for the whole two hours of the movie. It was that good. This is what filmmaking is about. I came across this as I thought it was a wonderful film and watched a few years ago. I rewatched- still as good!
8:43 - Lots of great ideas and success stories started in a garage.
wow, that's a pretty amazing way of thinking about it. Thank you so much for your supportive words. Appreciated. EW
This simply moved me. That's why I like BMD because they are responsible for stories like these happen. Good luck to team Cosmos. 🙏😊👍
I hope it helps others find the determination to continue with their own projects, we'll be producing some more making of content soon as well. Have you checked out the movie yet? Would love to hear what you made of it x

This movie and the efforts with resources at hand is the truest test of passion for filmmaking. After 8 years of being out of film school, this inspired me that my dream too can still be possible. This year it begins.
Wow Mike, this is the absolute best message to receive! We were inspired to make cosmos by our fellow filmmakers and to think we can pay a little of that inspiration forward to you is literally the ultimate form of success for us. How is your project coming along? Keep going, don't give in, work hard and one day it'll be us watching your movie up on the big screen. Cheers to you, Ell & Zand

We shall reply to your second comment now, but truly, thank you from all of the team. E & Z

You’re the people who made this happen , your story is the future my friends , the best team in the world Cosmos 🌹❤️❤️
Anyway, thanks for the amazing comment, hope you enjoy the movie if you get a chance to watch it (we'd love to hear what you make of it). Cheers x
I'm sorry to say I've only just discovered this gem of a movie. I loved it and will be spreading the word. Well done guys on one hell of a debut and here's to your next project(s). Wishing you every success because passion and talent like that deserves to be seen!
Thank you so much Dave! Elliot & Zander here, apologies for our slow reply so thanks for your patience and thanks for giving Cosmos a chance. It was a passion project made with a lot of love so it means a lot to us that you found it and enjoyed the adventure. If you'd like to follow our next movie we're documenting the process over at instagram.com/ellandzand - hopefully we'll see you other there. Cheers again and best wishes from us and the team. E & Z
This is an incredible video, i've learned about the process of Cosmos before actually seeing Cosmos. If you're looking for a chance to make something, all i wanna say is keep going. The love of something will persevere through your life. That passion won't go away, once you find it. CHASE IT.
Elijah - so thrilled that this video connected with you and for your words of support and wisdom; I really hope you get a chance to watch the movie and enjoy it, but either way thank you for the amazing comment and I wish you the best of luck with your creative endeavors x
I teared up watching this again. I’m in 2 weeks away from being in production of my sequel film. This is always inspirational for me. Love it
Akeem! Thank you my friend for your kind words of support - so glad to connect with a fellow filmmaker! How is your film coming along? Will we be able to follow the production online somewhere? We have a BTS instagram if you're interested in seeing more of how we made the film and got it distributed instagram.com/cosmos_movie and a FB group with updates about the release facebook.com/EllianderPictures.
Thanks again and best of luck with your film, Elliot

You should make a sequel, I wanna see those aliens
Thanks Diego! What do you think might happen next?? Would be cool to get people's ideas in case we do make a sequel...
Also, if you could spare the time would you mind leaving us a quick honest rating or review on imdb? It would help raise awareness of the film. No worries if not, we know people have busy lives! x
You made an amazing film that inspired millions. Love from India
Wow, now I'm inspired - thank you so much. Love from the UK
