Actor Joe Lando will join me live in The Locher Room on Wednesday, March 8th at 3 p.m. EST / 12 p.m. PST to look back on his incredible career that began over 30 years ago.
Joe booked his first big break as Jake Harrison on One Life to Live. His popularity soared after appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show twice, and soon Hollywood came calling and he was offered the role of mountain man Byron Sully, starring opposite Jane Seymour on the CBS prime time hit Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. The show sold in over 100 countries around the world and still maintains a loyal following 30 years later.
Since then, Joe produced and starred in 22 episodes of the critically acclaimed series Higher Ground for the Fox Family Channel. He also starred in more than a dozen independent films and
has recurred on JAG, Wildfire, Melrose Place, Hit the Floor, Summerland, 1-800 Missing, and Secret Circle. Most recently, he can be seen as Jane Seymour's love interest in Lifetime’s highest-rated holiday film A Christmas Spark, and the feature film Night Train, now playing in theaters and
streaming.
Joe also appeared on Guiding Light as Macauley West in 1993 and recently appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful as Judge Craig McMullen.

I watched Dr. Quinn every Saturday night with my daughter. There was so much chemistry between Jane and Joe. I loved the show and was such a big fan!!! Thank you for this interview.

I really like Joe Landos real everyday personality. I would love to see Joe Lando and Jane Seymour in another series together. We need people of mature ages portraying a loving relationship with each other. Their chemistry was and still is off the charts. It is a beautiful thing to see.

Great interview! Loved Joe and the insights into his life and career that he so graciously shared. I still watch him in DQMW, in my Higher Ground dvd's, and, now in A Christmas Spark. He is as handsome, now, as when he was young. Perhaps because I am older, too, I find him just as appealing as ever! Thank you, Alan and Joe. Great interview! When I saw the promo at first I didn't recognize him until I saw the photo with Vincent and Barbara and it dawned on me who he was, I still thinking he had the long hair lol! Glad that he's doing well and back working with Jane Seymour they were great together on "Dr Quinn", that show was huge back in the 90s. This was really good!

Thank you Alan for the interview with Joe Lando! Esther in Sacramento, Ca., became a fan of DQMW, during the Pandemic! I didn't get to enjoy the series during the 90's, because, I was a working Nurse with a son in College and 3 small children! Therefore, TV was not on my plate. But, my children tells my mom use to watch DQMW!
Well, one day I decided to watch DQMW, since, I'm retired! Wow! I became hooked!!! Know I watch DQMW on Prime Video, from the PILOT to the 6th Season! Plus, I DQMW watch party with young people my children ages 30. I immediately had a crush on Sully. So compassionate and Loving! And Sully and Dr.Mike have amazing Chemistry!😊 Then, I began to follow Jane Seymour and Joe Lando in everything I can find them in! They both are a great Actress and Actor! "A CHRISTMAS SPARK," was off the Chart! The Chemistry continues to be continues to be awesome, after, all of these years! Love to see Joe and to hear his story, but we in the UK don't get to see him in the program you are talking about. The last time we see him in UK was in doctor quin. So this live stream is a real treat for me as I'm a big Joe fan.

I loved, LOVED that Soap Opera Digest cover of him and Jessica Tuck (Megan, OLTL) back in the day. I, as I feel most fans were, were very sad when Max and Megan broke up, because of Gabrielle. But Jake/Joe saved the story. Not only did he have that DePaiva charm, that helped buffer the breakup, but his character despite the trademark machismo, was sensitive and was fiercely loyal to Megan (despite the antics of Charlotte Hesser). When both actors and characters left the show due to Megan passing and Jake finding life anew, (also John Loprieno left for a year), I felt my days with ONE LIFE TO LIVE were numbered. Though I continued to watch, it was never the same without them, I am so glad he and Jessica Tuck have found success since, and I wish them many more years of work.

I enjoyed your interview with Joe Lando. I didn't get to watch Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman when it first came out. I am now watching it on reruns at 2:00 am in the morning. That is past my bedtime but I am willingcto lose sleep in order to catch Sully! Joe was fantastic as Sully! I wonder if he still ever sees Cloud Dancing? Sorry. I don't know his real name.

My name is different now- but I was TRACEY ULLMANS first stand-in on the movie- I’m actually writing a book about experiences I’ve had on stage and sets etc. and I mentioned Joe and the gang in the book -the other day I went back to Tacoma and took some pictures inside the ol “Joeys pizzeria” Anyhoosel… On ILYTD Joe Lando was such a nice guy and I’ve rooted for him each time I saw him on something!! Joe I think you're wonderful actor. Is there anything that you can't do? I just adore you just by looking at you and I'm not the only one who would be seeing that you are beautiful man. And I'm sure your personality goes right along. I would love to just one day meet you. I really do think you're a fantastic actor and I just would love just to meet you and shake your hand. You keep doing what you're doing and you'll go farther than where you are at right now. I am very fond of you and that's all I can say is you're a wonderful wonderful actor.
At first I loved dqmw sully but after I saw him as Jake on oltl I can't go back to see Dr Quinn again because I realised the fake and the acting , Which is amazing but Joe Lando and Jessica Tuck were so great as themselves as Jake and Megan, and Joe said that as Jake he was just being himself, so my conclusion is that you are the best as you are just being yourself !

I loved Joe Lando on Dr Quinn medicine woman but I also love it when he shows up on b and b. I didn't know that he was on guiding light and I used to watch that soap opera too when it was on the air. Hope to see him back on b and b if needed.
I do remember his "Guiding Light" run - as Macauley West. "Dr. Quinn" was rising in popularity, or maybe it already was a confirmed hit, and from what the soap magazines said CBS kind of saw this as an opportunity, given Joe's soap opera experience, to bring him on to attract viewers.

Don't forget...Dr Quinn series is on DVD...costly...but a classic true brlievers should own. Sorry Joe, you are most memorable as the man who faught against ruinning the American frontier and believing in Cloud Dancing. Sully......!
