**EDIT: Some people have commented and said that ON Gold Standard is sweetened with sucralose, not Stevia. To be clear, ON has two versions of its protein; the regular version, and the "naturally flavored" version, which is sweetened with Stevia. Unfortunately, ON doesn't do a good job advertising these distinctions, so most people just assume there's one version.
**EDIT: As of May 2024, ON Gold Standard has discontinued its "naturally flavored" option, which means they do NOT offer a protein powder that is sweetened with stevia anymore. If you purchase ON Gold Standard, it will be sweetened with acesulfame potassium (which is an artificial sweetener).

These are affiliate links. Feel free to use it or don't. There's no extra cost to you. It simply helps me purchase more product to review for the channel.
Also, it's important to mention, an affiliate link is NOT a sponsored link. I paid for this product 100% with my own money and reviewed it independently. I have never received any financial compensation from manufacturers for reviews. Companies never know that I'm reviewing their products before a video gets published.
It makes no difference to me whether I love or hate the product, I simply tell you my candid opinion.
So while I can receive commissions for referring sales to products, if you end up being disappointed with my recommendation and don’t come back to the channel, I lose my audience trust. This is why I always set a very high standard for my review process, and constantly strive to provide the best, most honest, and most helpful information.
Thank you so much!!!
I’ve been looking for a video with this exact subject!!
Always looking for the top stevia sweetened (natural) proteins
Yours is the first I’ve found…..so thanks again!!
You're welcome! Let me know if you try any of the ones I recommended.
This is great! I get horrible stomach cramps from artificial sweeteners. This is incredibly helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome!! This is exactly why I made this video. Let me know if you have any questions.
If you have a Costco membership, Ascent whey 4lb bags are $55! That's the best price I have found.
Woah, definitely didn't know that. Thanks for sharing. I know others will appreciate this, too.
Thank you
I'm going to check this out, thanks!
but how do they taste?
My favorites are TL and Ascent
Both great picks, for sure.
The only other one that I would add to your list is, Diesel Whey Isolate
You're right actually. Added!
ON gold standard Sucralose is used as a sweetener.
To be clear, Gold Standard has 2 different versions of its protein. One is their regular version, and one is what they call their "natural" version. Here's the link to the natural version: amzn.to/3PaXTJv. It doesn't have sucralose and uses Stevia.
Unfortunately, ON doesn't do an excellent job of advertising these different product versions.
@@feast_good You have to be clear and having the wrong product in your video is not being clear. ON has now phased out their Naturally flavored version before this video was released so this information is straight up wrong.
@@robfranco1248 Please read the edit that is already posted on the video description. I can't help the fact that ON phased out their naturally flavored product after this video was posted. This is the problem with video content, it's impossible to edit.
@@feast_good I stated that it was phased out before your video was uploaded. It was still available through 3rd party at that time but for a premium and while supplies last.
The confusion with the ON Whey is that you showed the version with the red label that HAS sucralose and not the version with the tan label that says "NATURALLY FLAVORED" and is sweetened with stevia. No wonder everyone is confused. I have ON Whey red label which obviously has sucralose. It's important to show the correct product that you are talking about when reviewing an item. That being said I did enjoy the review of the other products and will look into them.
Yes this was a mistake and has already been addressed in the comments. If you want their stevia-sweetened version you need to specifically look for the label that says "natural". Here's the link to the natural version: amzn.to/3PaXTJv. It doesn't have sucralose. I'm sorry if this caused any confusion 😩
There’s never been a study showing that artificial sweeteners are harmful.
I never mentioned that artificial sweeteners are harmful. Some people simply prefer Stevia over artificial sweeteners for a number of reasons.
Is soy lecithin as ingredient good in some of those products?
You can do your own research, but here's what we've written about soy lecithin in several of our articles:
Lecithin (most commonly found in protein powders as soy lecithin or sunflower lecithin) is used as an emulsifier, which can increase mixability and reduce clumping. A side effect of including lecithin in a protein powder is that it can add some thickness to the powder’s consistency.
While lecithins play several roles, xanthan gum is used almost exclusively as a thickening agent. If you see a protein powder that has xanthan gum in its ingredients, you can be assured that it is going to mix up thicker.
Both xanthan gum and lecithins (from sunflower and soy) are non-nutritive additions, meaning they don’t provide any calories or nutritional value. They’re safe additions to your protein and are added to improve the texture and mixability of the powders.
I'm also someone who doesn't have a problem with artificial sweeteners. Never made me sick or anything. Appreciate the info tho.
I think most people don't report feeling sick, they just want to reduce their intake of these types of ingredients.
@@feast_good Oh I'm aware. Just saying how artificial sweeteners don't bother me.
Flase information about the optimum nutrition protein powder i have been taking it from last 6 months but recently i founf out they use sucrolose but than they also had a gold standard natural flavored protein powder which has a cane sugar but now they discontinued it cuz i dont see it on website anymore that why i am doing my research to get a new protein powder company that do not use artificial sweeteners cuz its really bad for your body in long term!!
This is NOT false. Optimum Nutrition has two different versions. If you buy the one that's called "Naturally Flavored," it's only sweetened with Stevia. The link in the description takes you to the right product. Regardless, check out Transparent Labs and you'll be fine when it comes to getting a product that doesn't use artificial sweeteners - all of their products are like this (i.e. they don't have different versions).
I’m sure when you created the video Optimum Nutrition Natural Whey was still an option but unfortunately this product has been discontinued. I emailed Optimum Nutrition to ask them and the confirmed they discontinued the natural product. Now I am searching for a new protein.
@@davidangeloftm8616 Oh wow! That's news to me. I'll make an edit to the description of this video so others are aware. Are you specifically looking for one that is sweetened with stevia?
@@feast_good Yes, it is Optimum Nutrition Natural Whey sweetened with stevia. I had been using this protein daily for several years. When I contacted Optimum Nutrition they said sales for this protein had been low and that is why they discontinued it. I'm thinking they just didn't really market this protein very well. I think there would have been a lot of interest in it. I loved this protein powder! Now I'm using Muscle Feast (also sweetened with Stevia) but I liked the Optimum Nutrition Natural best.
Nice
😎
I just looked at ON and they have sucralose not real cane sugar 🤷♂️
There's 2 types of ON whey proteins, one has artificial sweetener and the other has Stevia. This is the one with stevia: amzn.to/462EksK. It says "naturally flavored" on the bottle.
Thank you 🙏 one more question, do you have a favorite, or favorites, to recommend? (Flavors)
I've always bought double rich chocolate. I'd start there for your first bottle. @@noah1169
I'm a little bit hesistant taking protein advice from someone who doesn't know how to pronounce "satiety" or "alfalfa"
You'll find good protein advice elsewhere, too, I'm sure.
