I love your energy, both of you. 15.00 challenge seems very enjoyable as I can see from your smiles. How about trying this challenge in the Philippines? Good luck and happy travels.
No, it is not customary for the renters to take your passport! Never give up your passport or your international drivers license! Always use a cash or credit deposit!
Giving up your passport offers so many issues in the future! Always take a videotape of the complete status of anything you’re renting whether it’s a car or a scooter for damages! One of the biggest scams is you come back to the renter and they say there’s more damage to the scooter which if you didn’t take a video you can’t prove… Not to mention if they have your passport, they won’t give it back unless you pay the difference! Taking passports only started in the last couple years and is actually against the law!
Thats actually on tip i give to friend visiting se-asia Go inside a copy store and take copys of your passport to have in you and for things like rent things and change money ..even a nice aminated copy cost about 10-20 baht in Thailand Never ever go outside with the actual passport on you
funny and good video as always , but have in mind that the islands are alittle more expensive than mainland..in like central or north Thailand where its very different prices . =)
That's very true! It was good to see how far you can go with $15 in Koh Phangan. Should we try a budget challenge in every country we go? What you think?

Of course, leaving a copy of your passport and a copy of your international drivers license is something that is customary!
That's good to know, everyone is doing it all over Thailand 🤷

We never handed over our passport to a rental company...they just take a copy or picture...Carefull when you do that...
Every rental place in Thailand asked for our passport. I guess we've been lucky so far 😅
