I totally missed the fact that the AD2023-1 (Explorer homage) has a sapphire crystal! That explains the price difference and makes it an even better bargain!

The 1016 homage has a thinner bezel than most others around. I would only change these texts to a tiny branding at 12 and depth at 6.

Tandorio have the more modern explorer homage in 36 or 39mm with a sapphire crystal & nh35 …under £50

Between this two, the white dial looks much better.
I own the “cheaper” one, light blue dial. switched the awful metal bracelet to a blue leather band- looks awesome 👌🏻.
Looks like a fine dress watch when it is on the wrist.

If I were to choose one of these two I would pick the 1016 homage. The main reasons are its sapphire crystal and the fact it's more legible.

San Martin's finishing is better, but their quality control is worse than seiko. Especially on their lower priced models. I've had to return multiple SM watches because of bezel misalignment. Never had those type of problems with addiesdive.
