The Lions of that Era Period had big passing numbers because they were so far out of games it was Garbage Time by Halftime. Even Jon Kitna threw for back to back 4,000 yards on those Lions Teams. Mike Furrey was a 98 catch 1086 yard receiver during that Era (Joey Harrington through Stafford is "that era"). That's my one knock on Calvin Johnson. If he had played almost anywhere else he would have Lesser Individual Seasons but a longer career and actually won. They threw to Calvin 204 times that year! 204! Far and away the most of his career, by 46 targets. They led the League in Passing Attempts that season with 740 Attempts compared to 544 Passing Attempts against them. If you took every single Passing Attempt to Calvin Johnson out, they'd be practically Ever with Attempts for and against. That's how Crazy Pass Heavy they were. They were also 25th in the league in Rush Attempts. They ran 162 more plays on Offense than Teams ran against them...
There are reasons behind Calvin Johnson's Crazy Stats beyond just Calvin Johnson is one of the Best 5 WRs to ever play Football, which he is.

Philip Rivers 2010 Chargers? Greatest team to not make the playoffs? Number 1 offense, number 1 defense, still missed the playoffs.

Chris Johnson was amazing for having some wasted seasons in Tennessee. If he had green in front of him, he was gone.

3:21 #32 leonard Russell won offensive rookie of the year in 1991 and was a 1,000-yard rusher in 1993. Both seasons were a waste, as the pats let him walk in free agency after that 93 season

Tom Brady and Randy Moss in 2007 anyone? Not to mention the dominant Pats defense during that year, that forgot to show up for the last and most important game.

Calvin Johnson showed that the Madden curse may not curse the player but the entire team. Calvin broke the receiving record in 2012 but the Lions went 4-12 losing the last 8.

The Lions have been where player potential goes to die since the dawn of the Super Bowl era. They’ve never even reached the NFC Championship Game, let alone the Super Bowl.

Forgot about Matt Ryan's 2018 season. His stats are almost dead similar to his 2016 MVP season. Atlanta's defense fell apart that year and blew some last second game's. He should received a pro bowl that year.

    Pretty good stuff, Adam.
The Browns are the biggest nincompoops in the NFL. They throw guaranteed money around like it’s confetti. And now that they paid him his money and he’s back playing as one of the highest paid QBs in the League, he looks…………..quite average. And if he look’s that way next season, heads could very well roll!

My favorite Jared Allen moment was when he sacked Eli Manning AROUND an offensive lineman. Had a lineman in his arms, reached behind the guy and pulled Manning down by the shirt. Was epically hilarious.

Ricky Williams had an awesome 2002 season but the dolphins missed the playoffs because they had no support for him in passing. Also the defense was terrible in a few games.
