    Brilliant my friend. We just got back from Bay Lake Tower. We love it. The ability to walk to MK, Steakhouse 71, and the atmosphere and history are our highlights for staying there.
    I used to think if you don’t watch the fireworks from the top floor restaurant , you’re not experiencing it. This is wrong. If one is staying at Bay Lake just ask for a room on one of the top floors and one that faces MK. Watch the fireworks from the balcony and boom. Costs no more money and is one of the best viewing options available.
    My wife loves her coffee from contemporary grinds because they have a late art machine and she loves looking at Minnie Mouse in the morning on her coffee. It’s the little things 😊.
    Great video.

      I had no idea they had that machine at Contemporary Grounds! I just used that video snippet from elsewhere at Disney World. Bay Lake is one of my favorites too. I really enjoy watching the fireworks from my room as well. It's the best. Thanks for watching and commenting! (And the compliment of it being a great video. I knew this episode wasn't going to do that well but I made it because of just how much I enjoy the resort.)

    I love being part of Bay Lake Tower history in having a tile at the fountain behind the lobby. One of the fun things to see each visit.

      When did this happen and how on earth were you able to get it done?! I only knew about the Magic Kingdom bricks back in the 90's. That's so amazing!

      @@disfarers In 2009 the "founding members" who made Bay Lake Tower their home got a tile on the fountain, a replica tile and a piece of artwork.

      If you don't mind me asking another question or two or three; how much information about the resort did they offer you when you bought in? Was the tower up and were you able to tour the resort? Or were there only rooms on display at Saratoga or were there only pictures or concept drawings to look at? I'm just really interested in what was offered at the time you were able to get the "founding members" tile. It's really amazing that you got to be a part of that.

    • @codysewell5051

      @@disfarers They had model rooms and basically concept art and booklets, I was a kid at the time but parents told me all the extra details that the DVC guides told them. We bought in to BLT in 2008, and it was a limited number of members who got the tiles. The main selling points (at least for us) they had were Top Of The World Lounge, the music of the fireworks plays through the tvs, and the location being next to Magic Kingdom. So that became our second home resort.

      Thank you for sharing! There really isn't much to read about Bay Lake Tower in those very early days. Especially from the limited number of people who put down money before it was even completed.
      I'm just curious, what was your family's first home resort?

    Well, despite some of your misgivings about this particular episode I think it was fine!
    I very much enjoyed the heavy focus on the history of the Tower and the special attention you paid to its architect! Once again your clips are appropriate and on point, with the tone and your demeanor more laid-back demeanor being perfect for this video! The anecdotes and experiences you shared helped to liven up the video and they really helped someone like me, who has never stayed at the ol' BLT sandwich, to connect better with the resort and get a better idea of what staying there is like (You might've slipped at the All-Star, but still)!
    Plus, you uttered what is my favorite line to date from these lol; "And a laundry room full of swirly-hot air and sudsy fun I'm sure!"
    I cannot describe how much this makes me crack up laughing, for some reason it just gets me lol.
    Back to the rest of the video! I found it particularly interesting that guests and Bay Lake can make use of the facilities at the Contemporary, but not the other way 'round. I'm curious as to why that is, exactly! Is it to protect the BLT's identity as a more "exclusive" resort? Maybe they feel the Contemporary is large enough that it wouldn't feel crowded, whereas the BLT might seem a bit too busy? I'm genuinely curious!
    The Top-of-the-World lounge seems really fun, it's just a shame I'm not a vacation club member! Otherwise I 100% agree, the view of the fireworks show is spectacular! I love that they play the show's soundtrack at the time too, a neat touch and almost like icing on the cake for this genuinely pretty cool resort!
    Great video, man! Apologies again that this came a bit late! Can't wait for the next one!

      I always like getting your in depth feedback. I noticed there were no notes on my editing, so I suppose I'm getting better there and you're not the first person to positively comment on the more laid back tone.
      I believe the reason for the divide between the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower is that they try to subtly not say out loud that it is mainly a Disney Vacation Club Resort. More so than any other. Which lends the place a sense of intrigue, mystery and unfortunately aloofness to some.
      By the way, you're the first person to tell me that I got an actual laugh response.
      The Top of the World Lounge is really neat. If we're ever both in Orlando we'll head up there. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Again, it's alway great to hear your feedback.

    I have never heard of this place because I have never stayed at a Disney Resort! This was really interesting and now I feel like an expert if I ever get the chance to stay there. As always the little clips of funny make me laugh every time. They are perfectly timed and wonderful writing. Pacing is great which kept me engaged even though I knew nothing about Disney Vacation points and all this. I like the stills slightly moving also. Not here to make a full on critique but I normally watch on my Apple TV and don’t comment because I couldn’t. Naturally when I logged into my phone to comment , TH-cam let me know I could sync my app to comment using my phone when I watch on TV. Woot!

      I wouldn't mind a full critique. I like hearing both positives and negatives. It helps make episodes better. I've debated whether to go into making DVC episodes but there's only so many people that are interested and even then, Disfarers would be competing against other channels that ONLY cover DVC. But im glad you feel like an expert on Bay Lake Tower. I put in everything I researched and could think of. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    My family has been a member since pre opening at the end of 08. We've enjoyed watching the children grow up in a yearly Disney Vacation household. Couldn't afford to do it without our BLT purchase. In retrospect we're definitely glad that we bought when we did bc we can still sell our contract today for twice what we originally paid. Even though we'd rather keep it in the family and pass it on.

      That's so great! I often hear people that are long term DVC members say that the price of their points have essentially doubled. It's practically an investment! Thanks so much for sharing and watching. I want to ask how many points you have, but also don't want to pry.

    • @freedomwillring6749
      @freedomwillring6749 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We have 200 points, not an issue for me to tell you. At times I wished that we would have bought maybe a little more like 300, but we're just a family of 4, and when the kids were small we always had enough points bc we only needed studios and with banking and borrowing we often stayed a couple of weeks a year. Now that they are older we go a little less and sometimes bank and borrow to bring other relatives with one and two bedrooms stays on the same trip. Once you go deluxe resort accomodations, you're neve going to want to visit Disney any other way.

    • @disfarers
      @disfarers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wait, you're saying you went to the original Top of the World Lounge? You have to share more stories, if that's what you're saying!
      I'm interested in researching the new Skyliner but I typically do episodes on what I'm most interested in at the moment. What I mean is, to do these episodes I have to do a lot of research, so that plays a role in the topics I choose. I'm interested in everything, but there's always 3-5 things that I'm really REALLY curious about at a given time.
      As of having episodes on future expansions...ehhh I probably won't ever make episodes like that. I don't like speculation and there are a lot of channels that already cover stuff like that. I like uncovering and revealing what already exists, or sometimes what did exist. It feels like I'm sharing something with an audience, a history or facts they may not know. Whereas with planned future projects I could only share my own feelings on speculations...which I feel people wouldn't be so interested in.
      You got me rambling here. Thanks, of course, for sharing and watching!

      I've heard of this "friendly list" but I honestly know nothing about it. My channel gets so little traffic, I'm sure I wouldn't be considered for it at this stage of the game. But it's an interesting idea for a short episode if I could figure out how this "friendly list" works.
