I am a wife of a firefighter. I wanted to share that with a 2nd story, 2 story fire ladders in each bedroom are vital as well as sleeping with doors closed.
I can’t wait to see what you all do by adding your own touch to your new home.
When you walked thru the door I cried for you guys. God is so good! What a huge blessing! It's gorgeous.
So happy for you all. We moved from a very small trailer (12'x56') with a small 2nd bedroom that a twin bed didn't even fit in it. When our 2nd boy came along his travel crib was in the livingroom as it was the only room that furniture could be scrunched closer to make room for it. We then purchased an 1800 sqft manufactured home placed on a large tree seed orchard and became caretakers of it. We lived in the middle of trees with no other homes closer than 1 mile away. None were visible. We did have magnificent views of Mt. Rainier from the backyard and the beautiful Olympics from the front. We had the huge livingroom totally vacant of furniture for over a year. The boys used it as a rumpus room. Learned to ride tricycles, first little bikes. Learned soccer, throwing a ball, shooting hoops, etc.... so many memories are in that place. 40 years later...we have moved out, preparing to demolish it (not road worthy), and after a year, we are finally breaking ground on our new home. It will be 1600 sqft and totally ada compliant for me. A step in jacuzzi tub for me, no steps going out of the house at any point, so no ramps needed. We will be living next door to our only grandchildren so that will be a major plus for us also. No matter what stage of life you are in, you will find new wonders, worries, joys and sorrows. No matter what if you keep God first, then your family second you will be fulfilled and feel ready for the next adventure.

Your excitement over the new house reminds me of us five years ago when we moved into our current house. You will be so glad for the extra storage space and the second floor laundry. I don’t miss carrying a full laundry basket up two flights of stairs. So happy for you guys.
Congratulations on your beautiful new house! I know it is the result of a lot of work as a team to make it happen between Evan's electrician training, the Bates Sister's clothing business, this youtube channel with all the filming and editing etc. While raising a young child and now bringing a second home. You certainly have made a lot of smart choices and worked together to make these great blessings happen! I am very happy for you! I'm feeling all the feels with you both. What a blessing and so worth the wait! This is incredible. Seeing your reaction takes me back to how my husband and I reacted on the first home we bought. The home we rented prior was about the same size as the home y'all rented, with no garage, no dishwasher, and a lot of spaces were multipurpose. When the Lord opened the door for us to buy a home, it had a dishwasher, a privacy fence, an additional bathroom and bedroom, more storage, and a garage. Our jaws just dropped and it was so surreal. It exceeded what we ever dreamed we could afford. I'm so incredibly happy for y'all.💜 Thank y'all for sharing your journey with us.

The floors are beautiful with the high gloss shine! I like keep my flooring the same way. It can take work, but so much easier to keep clean and it keeps dust and foot prints from showing.

I remember when we first moved into our forever home back in 1985. We were so excited! We watched it being built then moved in! You are going to make so many great memories in your new home. One thing your very first house will have so many memories. Your two children being born and you getting married you will never forget those but now you own your own home with many memories to come! I am just so excited for you! Can't wait to see what you are going to do to your new home! Layla is just so cute!! I can tell how excited she is for new home too! See you next week!
