The model with the sticking carburetor was interesting. The Suzuki VX800 is rare also in my country. It had a nice design and having a shaft was really a good thing for Suzuki. Today they don't have it anymore. Wonderful exhibition. Would love to go there once. I would need hours there... :)

Thanks for the guided tour. What a variety of bikes! I had a BSA Bantom which was old even then, I ended up getting a Zundapp which I never did get running. My first experience that some people can’t be trusted! 😩 I love that all bikers have a story! 😁

I remember buying an old RD250 and on the ride home it blew a hole clean through the piston! Seller said it was my fault, I only made it 4 miles from his house!

Another great video Richard and Carol and nice to chat to you again. I hope your wait in the Coffee queue was worthwhile. At 4.13 you showed a green Francis Barnett Cruiser with a 197cc engine. 2 weeks ago, I bought one of these with a 225cc engine, that looked pretty well the same. Amazing what we see at these shows isn't it? See you at Stafford with The Marston Sunbeam Club & Register stand, on which will be my Sunbeam Model 90 along with a number of very special bikes.

Linda had never been on a bike before we met in 1969 and we have had a great life. we have had sidecar outfits when our son came along in 1973 ,the isle of man ,rallies with the Federation of sidecar clubs . One of the lovely bikes you mentioned ,the Kawasaki z1 at the show we tried a demo bike at the time from Davic Motique at Long Eaton . see you soon .

Brilliant, and thanks for the kind words. Carol had nothing to do bikes before we met in 86. She eventually did her bike test in 2012 when our oldest lad passed his bike test. It's definitely led to a great shared interest as we've got older.

Dynamo / voltage regulators / alternators
      Coil ignitions
Valve lifters and ref to top dead centre
      Amal carbs all types
Soon pick it up if you have the interest
I’ve only done it for 6 years and ridden quite a few now ! Changed clutches etc timing and dealt with charging systems tho it does help me being an electrician
Tho I have some experience with old cars coming from a family who runs a car business hence my current Austin seven
And that’s all in any spare time I get ..
no tax, no mot required now tho mine would all pass, cheap insurance

Whilst you may scowl at the prospect of those questionable doer uppers at the end. Very interesting guys as ever lovin the Japanese classics they are more me, pre sixties probably not so much .The EK200 Honda was a real surprise never seen or heard of it before . The 81 GSX 750 was a great bike to ride I loved it and it was a lot different to the previous GS models which were also great bikes .I note the black RE5 has GT 750 clocks I can only assume they used them on the first models maybe not sure on that one .That red Ducati "wow'' talk about Italian flare fabulous ,gotta say guys I never really liked the look of the CX500 The Guzzi's on the other hand yes . I had a Heinkel for a while when I was about 16 I never took it on the road though it was a red one and believe it or not I bought for £3 from a guy who just wanted rid of it and I wish I still had it , as with most all the stuff I had 😉Ohhh the YDS7 250 in that colour for me was one of the best looking Yam 250/350's they did awesome .I had a YDS3 as one of my first bikes I bought it for £18 but the clutch did not work so I used to ride it up and down the drive where I lived without a clutch but of course never went far nor got it sorted and it would have been so simple knowing what I know now .I seem to remember the 350 four Honda was in the USA not here nice motor though ,note the Laverda's also had the right had gear change and I think this is why they didn't get exported to the USA could be wrong there though . Guys apologies I've done it again when you do these shows it's just so interesting and you look at everything so I just have to comment .😉👌👍Gotta get to a classic show this year if poss .

You need to go to the Stafford Classic 14th & 15th October this year. More of the Japanese classics there. We will almost certainly go.
Looks like we've triggered some nostalgia with some of the bikes. We try to get closer and more detailed shots than some. Makes for a long vid but so glad you enjoyed it.
Appreciate you taking the time for such a detailed reply.
      Hope you're keeping well.

Lovely job! God there was some gorgeous stuff on show (Stafford is still the daddy though) I had a Z250 for years, mine was metallic red but I always wanted the Scorpion version though, LC 250's I had 2 (but I loved the Z more) the black/red/orange mars bar model was the tidiest but the white/red one was the quickest, it walked all over the Honda 400-4 I replaced it with, I'm a Kawasaki man but I've always loved CBX's and the CB1100R's. Thank you.

Your probably right on the Stafford show (if you've seen our vid from there). Think there's huge interest from folks who can remember buying these bikes back in the 70s 80s and 90s. Unfortunately there's not many folks around that remember buying and riding in the 60s or earlier so there's not quite the nostalgia for the earlier classics.
Stafford definitely has more bikes from my era.
Still plenty to enjoy and we had a great day. Thanks for watching

@@Banditmanuk We try to attend the October Stafford show most years despite us travelling from Norfolk, I'm the fella you advised to visit flat cap cafe racer, (thanks for that) I told him that you put me on to him (enjoy his laid back style) and he said that you and Carol are nice people, I'm looking forward to more of his stuff.

@David Reed He was on Exeter Rider's live stream tonight. Really interesting watch, he's done so much from being in charge of nuclear missiles to drag racing on the Bonneville salt flats.
