Excellent 3 yr review! Because of you (mostly) I bought one today! However you do NOT have to order on-line first. I walked into my local Lowe's today and they had the sign up. "Free battery with purchase." I asked the salesman (Skylar) who was extremely helpful and courteous, and he told me yes, you get a free battery w/purchase. So I bought one in-store. He said they were out of the free batteries but one would be shipped to me at no charge. Sale ends 4-17 but free battery is good till 5-1.
Good to know, my local Lowes must be confused then. My neighbor went to buy in store and it was on sale for $599 with no free battery. He asked the manager and they told him the free battery was online only. He had to go home and order online and wait for them to pick the order.
Well, if they didn't give me one at the store, I was gonna tell them nowhere on their website does it say "Online only deal". The instore sign doesn't say that either. Perhaps every state is different?@@DoresoomReviews
I just made the same purchase today but they tried to charge me $80 for shipping for the extra battery cuz they didn’t have any in stock. We had to go back and forth with that but they finally took the $80 off. I can’t wait to use it!
It's 699.00 now and no free battery. Man to bad ours just started having problems now. Well it's ours is an ego push from 2018 so guess I can't complain she gave us great use! 👍🏆
I bought that same mower in spring of 2020 when Home Depot was carrying it. First generation of the Select Cut with 7.5 amp battery. My review as I am now into my 5th season is that it is EXCELLENT!! Not one issue with the mower and the battery is holding a charge as it did on day one. All that I have done to maintain this mower is sharpen the blades every season.
Nice! This video gives me a great deal of comfort. I just picked up this model with the extra free battery, along with the trimmer/leaf blower package with another battery. Total out the door for everything (mower, trimmer, blower, 1 x 7.5AH, 1 x 5AH & 1 x 4AH battery) was $825 + tax ($340 total savings for all the promotional sales they've got going right now). I've been on the fence about going electric for a while now, and wow am I super happy with it after the first mow. My grass was about a foot high in the tallest spots and this thing just ate right through everything with a much nicer finish than I expected. It did die a few times because the grass to bag chute was getting clogged up from the sheer amount of moist grass. Can't fault the mower for that and it shouldn't ever be that high again anyway so it's a non-issue. Also I did all that mowing, 5000sqft in the dark with the mower's headlight. I was really impressed with the trimmer as well. The operation was so quiet and smooth. My dogs were not a fan of the leaf blower, I was. The Turbo mode is insane!
The deal is not only online. I got it in person today in a Lowes store in NJ, extra battery included. I'm really happy to see it's still working like the day you bought it. Nice update.

I got the 2156SP from Amazon with the deal going on about a month ago. I was able to return the extra battery and used that money to get a blower with a 5AH battery and the extra 2.5AH. Decided on the 2156 for the larger battery 10AH and the 5 year warranty vs the 3.
Did the same thing. Did not think about returning the 5 amp battery, nice one. Ordered another 10 amp battery to have 2. Planning ahead to Fall when I will get the snow thrower.
I have had my ego lawnmower since 2019. Mines the model before the select cut still have the same 7.5 amp hour battery that it came with I have a pretty small yard so I typically get 3 to 4 cuts per charge depending on how tall grass is
Great review! I purchased a single-stage snow blower with two 5AH batteries in 2016 and a mower with one 5AH battery in 2020. I've had no issues with either product and highly recommend EGO.
Thanks for this timely review! The Milwaukee mower is still about $200 more but I've heard from buddies that the high lift cut is absolutely amazing. I think the Ego is a solid buy at a lower pricepoint.
Absolutely! I have a ton of M18 tools and batteries, but I'm EGO all the way for OPE. Also, the M18 mower is $799 bare tool. With 2X 12Ah batteries it runs $1100.

Yeah, my neighbor went to buy it in store and told me they wouldn't give him the free battery - the in store sale was just the $599 deal. He had go home, order online, and wait for them to pull it in store. 😂

I have the first Ego lawnmower they put out. Been using it since 2018 and I live in South Florida so i mow all year. Ego lawnmower’s are great. Batteries are not all that great though.
Have you had lots of problems with batteries dying? EGO seems to be about the same failure rate as my other tool brands. I've had 2 Milwaukee batteries die on me as well in the same time span.
@@DoresoomReviews not just that. Unfortunately this model is only three years old, so it's hard to say how it does beyond that. I've heard from other EGO owners that their previous generation mowers are still going at 8+ years.
Thanks for replying. I’ve been watching a ton of comparison videos and looks like a model with a turbo button might meet my needs. It will be close, I'd plan on having at least an extra 5Ah battery if I were you. I have a mostly flat 1/6 acre with a pretty steep hill on one back corner. It usually has 3 of 5 bars left when I finish mowing, but sometimes it drops to 2 of 5 when the grass is extra tall.
Recently bought a 56v model at Lowes. It stalls out in even mildly challenging grass and the battery lasts about 20 minutes- not long enough for my average size lawn. Will be selling it as soon as I take delivery of my new lawn mower - gasoline.
No, there's a part for mounting and indexing both blades together. The Select Cut is the only mower series that I'm aware of from EGO that can have two blades mounted together.
You're looking at $300 for a 5Ah or $400 for a 7.5Ah replacement battery. I've never had an EGO battery die on me ouside of the 3 year warranty. If you do need another battery, it often makes more sense just to buy another kit that comes with a battery. For example, the 650 CFM blower kit is $280 WITH a 5Ah battery and charger: lowes.sjv.io/3eQNek
I bought my EGO mower in June, 2023, from Lowes. I regret the purchase. The battery died August, 2024. I didn't register the purchase, so I am out of luck. $400 for a 7.5 ah replacement. But the real problem is it cuts poorly. It bends a lot of grass over instead of cutting it. I have an EGO hedge trimmer, works great so I thought I'd get the mower. Big mistake.
I've learned that after I made the video from other people commenting. At the time I made the video, I had just recommended it to my neighbor. He went to our local Lowes and told me they informed him the free battery was online only, and the sale in-store was just $599 for the mower. He had to go home, order it online, and wait for them to pick the order to get the free battery.
I've been folding the handle after every mow for four seasons now, no problems. I have heard that can be an issue though, so I pay attention not to pinch the wires.
I have had this mower since it came out and have found it leaves a trail of cut clippings along the left side of mowing regardless using the mulching blade or the high lift blade. That is very annoying and I will not mow over it twice to get the trail of clippings. It should not do this. I want to mow the lawn once and have the cut quality good the first time. I am not cutting tall grass either. I am assuming it needs more torque and power. Other than that, I think it is a ok mower but can not have a trail of cut clippings along the left side.
The free battery deal ended a week or two ago. The current $599 sale price is still a great deal though, considering inflation lately. Now is normal price $749, sale price $599. When I bough mine three years ago it was normal price $649, sale price $599.
Customer service has been the worst for me. I just gave up and started paying for mowing service. Called them, email them multiple times, they say they will contact me, but they don't.
I don't think they advertise acreage anymore, just runtime. It will depend a lot on the length and type of grass, the blade type you're using, and if your yard is sloped. The 2/3 of an acre you're getting sounds about right for a 7.5Ah battery, since I get my 1/6 of an acre done with 60% charge left over. If you need more runtime, you can install the high efficiency blade or buy another EGO tool kit that has a 4Ah battery or greater. I've never had a problem with the grass bag coming off. Are you installing it according to how the manual shows on page 29: egopowerplus.com/media/productattach/2/1/21-0713_ego_lm2130_lm2130sp_lm2150sp_56v_lithium-ion_cordless_mower_manual_na_v2_1-8_.pdf
I used to like my Ego mower, but Ego lawnmowers break down very quickly, and their warrsnty is a scam since they charge you for the repairs. Expect hundreds in repairs after a year or two.

You don't have to order it online. I walked into Lowe's and bought it for $599.00 and the free battery. You know that. Give the people the right info.
Had my Ryobi self propelled and no issues 😂
I've had a Ryobi 40V 6Ah battery die on me too. Between the Ryobi 40V I reviewed a while back and this EGO, I ended up keeping the EGO.
If you keep folding it up the wiring fails.
I haven't noticed mine doing that. Has yours always done so, or is it possible the blades need to be sharpened?
But... didnt you already have a battery... free of charge??😏
Hahahaha, that took me a second to get. Ba-dum-tss.
The extra battery deal must be over. The web page doesn't have the extra battery nor does the store.
The free battery deal ended a week or two ago. The current $599 sale price is still a great deal though, considering inflation lately. Now is normal price $749, sale price $599. When I bough mine three years ago it was normal price $649, sale price $599.
Now 699 at Lowe’s online, one battery only.
Yeah, the deal was for May/June only I believe. $699 is regular price now.
I want buy an Makita... but, I think the EGO is better 😏
The battery has a five year warranty now if you register it.
Do you have the 10Ah battery? I think that one is 5 years, but smaller ones are 3 years.
@@DoresoomReviews Actually I have the 4 amp battery but the 5 amp also got the 5 year warranty if you register. I just did mine two weeks ago.
Good to know! Their warranty page still says 3 years, but it hasn't been updated since 2022. Glad they upped the warranty period.
Customer service has been the worst for me. I just gave up and started paying for mowing service. Called them, email them multiple times, they say they will contact me, but they don't.
The review was helpfull but the deal at Lowes is over
Junk. I have the same mower & it is supposed to mow 1 acre. I’m lucky if i get 2/3 of an acre. My bag keeps falling off since the day i bought it.
I bought this model the year it came out in 2020. So you must have a different model if yours failed after 4-5 years.
The timing for this video is perfect. I was just looking at the same deal for Lowes, so thanks for the update! Short and to the point. Going to pick myself up one tomorrow 🫡
Glad I could help!
