I remember this event. I remember doing this event. So many restarts cauae I got hit or didn't make in time. It was a a pain. Neve again mohoyo. No no no no no no no 😅
At the time it was actually just more efficient to use your resin that way though. The rewards were significantly better than what you'd get from grinding domains and ley lines, and it also was in 1.1 so the cap was increased to 160.
i played since the release of the game, and i gotta tell you. For me the delivery event is the most traumatizing aspect of Genshin impact. More than floor 12 of the abyss
I’ve been a very consistent player since game launch, logging in literally the minute of the servers going live to now where I have a very strong account. There are 2 events I did not complete Hypostatic symphony 1 my account was too weak to get max rewards And delivery event… I took a break from the game for a week. And is to this day the only break I’ve taken from the grind.
I played since a month after launch and I only remember bits and pieces of that event because I just gave up doing that event kekw. I sadly dropped the game a bit after the first anniversary since I'm a mobile player but really considering on redownloading it 😭
Did you guys remember that one delivery where we needed to deliver food to a person standing on tge cliff next to Dawn Winery? The challenge was that we couldn't be affected by any elements, we couldn't sprint, and we couldn't take any damage; otherwise, the food would turn bad. So our only option was to climb the mountain on the right (if we stand next to a teleporter in dawn winery), but the only problem is that hilichurls with elemental bows pop out of nowhere, and now you're not only fighting against time but also against not being affected by any elements and not taking any damage. It took me a few tries to complete it.
@@cydzerlight1383 Worse, the majority players (including myself) hadn't maxed up the statues of 7 of Mondstadt and Liyue during that period, and we always ran out of stamina halfway through the cliff.
You could take the longer route to avoid the enemies, i swear i missed out by not making video guides for this event, i thought it was easy but apparently everyone struggled

Genshin events in a nutshell: - Go kill - "Hewp me with a research oneee-chhaaan" - Take a pic - Annual quests (Lantern rite, summer event, windtrace...) - Events with a crucial story line that you will never be able to play through again if you missed it. Notice how there's no delivery anymore
I managed to miss the only delivery event they ever put out and I'm kinda upset that I did. From what I've seen, it looked pretty fun... EDIT: Okay I watched the video and I take it back.
Being a semi-day-one player I completely forgot about the food delivery event. But the second you mentioned "commissions to deliver food" I just got SHIVERS.
As a player who have been playing since 1.0, I can confirm that food delivery event are the worst. Back then there's no gadget, no characters like scara/kazuha/yelan/sayu makes it even more frustrating and many people gave up on the event.
Using any character or worst Mona of the moment touch the water is a challenge failed of displeased the customer. Just to recall was mostly at Liyue shallow waters.
My coping mechanism activated and forgot everything about this event as a trauma response. This video just reminded me that I lived and suffered through it. Thank you.

yeah, it was bad; i tried to forget it existed i am resource cheap, so rarely used port waypoints....but i did for this bs honestly, if they had just removed the time limit, it wouldve been a fun puzzle type event.
I love this game!! but swear to God the 40 primos on First Anniversary was like giving a starving man a single crumb and expecting him to be satisfied..😀
I think the only thing that was even worse were the players defending Hoyo from that absolut insult when people started pointing it out. Something like this was probably never seen before in gacha history and Genshin, which has made probably the most money in gacha history at that time, was so stingy with it's player. Is as if they forgot two zero's on the price but were too pouty about the reactions to actually change it.
This is why I used this strat. 1. Go to the client location. 2. Lose cuz of BS 3. Plant the new and improved portable teleporter there 4. Start the mission again 5. Teleport directly to the portable teleporter 6. Deal with this 💩 multiple times and get all the rewards!
It is traumatizing because few people realized that you had to use certain characters. Like the dude on the boat you had to use Kaeya to bridge to him. I somewhat liked that event. Except the reason part 😂
If I recall correctly, many players were just starving for Liyue-based events. When the Lantern Rite event was released, we didn’t even get to interact or see any Liyue characters on the overworld besides Xiao. It was a real letdown for those who wanted to see their favorite Liyue characters get screentime, but instead of that we just did random requests for random Liyue NPCs. That led some to think that Mihoyo loves Mondstadt more than Liyue when the Windblume event was released. They also had a really cool event that had interactions between playable characters Fischl and Mona, some lore-heavy implications and the first introduction to Scaramouche. Then you have Mondstadt 5 stars being meta like Venti, Diluc and Klee (for being Pyro) while you have Liyue 5 stars like Zhongli, who had to be buffed to be playable, Keqing who was considered mid, and Qiqi. There was Ganyu too, but it took a while before she was hailed as the best DPS.
Was Zhongli actually that unplayable? I am not big on game mechanics and got him just because I liked him - I thought he was alright in my team of little baby characters. From what I remember people were mostly screaming about him not making enough damage - but that was basically due to the fact that he was made to be support/shielder in the first place and not actually do a lot of damage? I never got to really dig to the core of people throwing fits about that one - and also don't remember if they were happy with the buff or just accepted it as "at least they did something".
i wasn’t playing at the time but i was watching my best friend at the time play it and oh my god there was this person ON A RAFT you had to deliver food to that you couldn’t get affected by elements. she was losing her mind but eventually made it after like a half hour of attempts. THIS ONE OMFG 8:00
It's been a while, so I don't remember this event clearly, but there was one where the fastest way to complete it was walking through an area that had water on the ground and you couldn't see it. The solution? Trial and error. I think the pattern was some S shaped pattern to get through the minefield of puddles but this video definitely triggered some old, bad memories in me.
Wait doesn't ice also give you wet effects? I remember fighting stuff on ice and getting freezed every second, this is gone after the recent updates tho
I remember doing this event, and there was this one dude who was in the Qingxu ruins at the bottom of the liyue map at that time, before the chasm. The requirement was to not get affected by any elements and you can't glide. So the way to get to him was to dash off a cliff, sprint to the ruins, past a bunch of abyss mages and hilichurls, and the dude's in like, a random lil room in the ruins. You needed to have good reaction speed to attack right before landing so that you travel as far as possible after dashing off the cliff (or sacrifice that character), sprint through a ruin that is on the water and not get hit by abyss mages on the way. For me this one was the most annoying one because my game somehow had that one fuckin lil area that wasn't touched by water along the path, but it somehow burned me DESPITE NOT HAVING ANY FIRE NEARBY. THERE WASN'T EVEN A FIRE ABYSS MAGE ANYWHERE. HOW TF DID I GET BURNED?? I literally tried that one delivery 6 times before i got it to work. I actually quite liked the event, but to that one dude in the ruins, I hate you.
I STARTED DURING THIS EVENT! Honestly, I don’t know how I didn’t gave up on this game after all the pain and suffering I went through with the guy on the islands in Liyue NOT HAVING FULL STAMINA BAR AND HAVING TO SWIM TO ANOTHER ISLAND. Anyway, I kinda wish they would one day make a similar event, so new players can experience the trauma too
... no... we need new people not less people.. If they do make a new one where you have to deliver food all over the map (Fontaine) without gettting wet... Rage will be thyne and Fontaine will be traumacenter of Genshin...
I think I'm the only one who actually liked this event, it taught me that I could use plunge attacks to negate fall damage and the vast majority of deliveries were fun (boat girl is not included, I ended up having to use geo traveller's rock to get to her). I really hope it comes back in a revamped form someday with a lot of the issues ironed out.
There you go, the event forced you to have to think creatively outside the box to solve problems. The person at Hoyoverse who created this was probably a sadistic school teacher before. I myself joined Genshin like almost a year later so I never saw these events. If I had, I probably would have quit Genshin.
honestly same as well, this event taught me about the plunge attack negate and thank god I learn that because I HATED the one where you can't clime, run get wet, glide, and your spawn is at the mountain (you also don't have a custom spanner to use in the old days in Genshin)
Dude! This event is pissing me off even to this day. Why must you remind me of this?! They literally arrange is so precisely in order for it to feel like a literal hell! There's this costumer in Mondstadt where you literally have to dodge so many Hillichurls and Samachulrs that I swear was not there normally left and right.
I think I must have repressed those traumatizing memories of the event because once you began talking about it… all those painful memories came back at once.
I think this event traumatized me so thoroughly I forgot about it. This was opening up old wounds! Another cruel one was an NPC across the water from Dawn Winery. This was back when Dragonspine and the Pale Flame/ Tenacity domain wasn't out yet, so you couldn't go that way, nor teleport out there. You also couldn't get affected by the elements
for a second i thought this was gonna be about an event that happened after i stopped playing and i was gonna come in and be all like "haha wow i missed some crazy stuff huh" and then i realized what you were about to talk about and alllll the bad memories of this event came back 😭 i still remember stepping in a puddle that looked no deeper than my ankle at best and having the food be considered wet
DUDE I literally... was like 10 meters away from one you cant sprint climb or glide.. and it RAINED ON ME.. I literally just stopped doing the event right then and there

I unironically miss this event ngl fdhgnfdhghdfg Would love to play it again just BECAUSE it was so traumatizing and actually made an event fun while also frustrating. But it was also so damn rewarding once you managed to figure out how to do it.

I’ve been with Genshin since release, so I was surprised that I had no clue what event was being referred to…but then I immediately remembered and why I buried those memories deep within my subconscious..
I remembered why my second player ps4 controller no longer has a working set of triggers or buttons... and the thumbsticks only go forwards... the horror... We need petition that guy be put in charge of something worth torturing us over, like occuli or how to get a remote object you never use but want to get for the simple fact of it is needed for 100% a region...
I didn't expect people to hate this event as much as me too, it's also kinda famous I always talk about the worst event in Genshin being the food event and there's plenty of people who don't know about this event I literally stopped playing Genshin during the month when this event was running just because of it. I had some other things to do in that time and this event was the cherry on top for me to quitting it. I recovered myself of not completing this event (one of the very few events I didn't complete on this game) after some time and got back to the game btw
I remember I livestream the first ever event and due to the PlayStation 4 it was the most laggiest thing I’ve experienced. Especially, with Venti’s Ult dropping every possible frame possible. That moment right there was the perfect moment of this game. I’m glad I livestream it and kept it. Such an joyful history
I actually think that is a great event. A memorable event is 10000 times better than a generic boring one. People might feel frustrated at times, But when time goes by These moments become our most precious memories of the game, One that we can all look behind and laugh by it.

A memorable event is better than a generic boring one. A generic boring one is better than a FRUSTRATING one with miserable rewards. This event was frustrating, and the awards were shit. If you liked it, good. But this event was objectively bad.
Tbh the food delivery event looks way more fun than the events we are getting now. I joined in 1.3 so i didn't play it but finding ways to not get affected by elements and making the best and fastest route to get to the npc's and trying to not use the sprint button or glide button looks way more fun to me than taking a picture of a bird in fontaine. I bet it will be even more fun when you use character skills like zhongli pillar or xiao dash or kazuha jump and make use of them in the best way possible. I hope they bring it back someday

I also joined during 1.3. Remember the first Lantern Rite where you had to go everywhere doing errands and there was a bunch of text? That seems worse to me than this Food Delivery event 😭
As a dark souls player, I absolutely loved this event. It was actually a challenge for once. The girl in the boat gave me a tough time, as I didnt have any characters who could create platforms (I forgot about the existence of geo traveller coz I never used him). Ended up climbing a box and jumping to the boat flawlessly. So fun.
Right? I love challenges that's not beat the ooga booga sh*t out of it and you win, and that's basically all there is these days. I enjoy hard things that are fun and unique. I remember jumping into a box too. Then I wondered what people were complaining about. I remember the oni event where they had those bounce the ball and break the brick game and I've missed it ever since, but the elite gamers thought it was stupid and shouldn't return. So we're now back to mostly beating the crap out of enemies and photo errands.

It wasn't bad imo, it required us to get an idea of the entire surroundings such as checking for puddles, cryo/pyro flowers, electro crystals, know the enemy locations. There were even some creative ideas the community found back in the day for this event such as sliding down cliffs to cut time, last second plunge attacks instead of gliding. The one and only shitty thing was as you shown at 4:37, and it was even worse on mobile. It took some retrying but I would say it was definitely fun. The most annoyed I felt was with 1.3 Lantern Rite side-quests. There were like 20 quests with random NPCs. That was such a chore
OMG! I HATED that food delivery event so much I totally skipped it, I can still remember how angry I was seeing the event on a daily and knowing I can't earn enough twinkletits for my pulls.
As someone who played around May 2021, watching this video is the equivalent to hearing my grandparents talk about how they went to school back in their day
I don't understand people saying this event was hard. I played since launch and I never thought this event was any challenge at all. Sure, I sometimes have to repeat the order but it's not that bad, I only had to repeat once or twice until I get it right. I always see this thing cited as the hardest event in the game but I'd argue it's the hypostasis event where you can choose exactly how hard you want the challenges to be. Although, the difficulty IS optional, if you do activate the challenges, it WILL be super hard. Especially for non-whale players.
Yo Amber was top tier for this. Everyone else was going crazy to avoid enemies, meanwhile my smart ass used Amber and just threw her taunt at enemies so they wouldn't hit me.

I joined genshin a month or 2 after its release, played for a few months, then didnt come back until after inazuma was fully released so I missed quite a lot... but I also know a lot about it too lol. The first time I played Genshin was for about 10 days back in December 2020, which just so happened to be during this event. This was my introduction to the game
Many guys say that this event is one of the worst, but I'm here waiting for it to return. Or at least something similar to this. It might be kind of bull, but it's a challenging kind of fun. Traversing the terrain to familiarize yourself, finding the optimal route and avoiding obstacles that ruins the run. I think many don't find this fun because it's so punishing, but I myself like it when I learn from mistakes and try again.

Lolll, I remember thisss. I started genshin on the same day as the global launch and I remember being a technical helper in the official discord server (now called Seelie Guide). The game had so many bugs and issues at that time that we volunteers helped other players fix their problems. I was an active helper back then called "AquaRose", not many people might remember me. But I was there during a lot of internal discussions for the current Seelie Guide role. It was super fun back then XD
5:12 im a 1.0 player and ngl while that event was horrible but i feel like the alchemy event was worse have to spend resin + sit through all that fighting but it was kinda good as in that was kind of challange at the time only one we had
...and it was actually fun! The event really made one think about optimal routes and using game mechanics to players' advantage, and I wish it came back in some form
No it was just hard and not really fun. Most of the rules were made for the delivery to make it just a hassle instead of fun. Particulary the whole element one where you could have your run ruined only because your foot barely touch an invisible puddle of water in middle land.

I remember doing this event, and there was this one dude who was in the Qingxu ruins at the bottom of the liyue map at that time, before the chasm. The requirement was to not get affected by any elements and you can't glide. So the way to get to him was to dash off a cliff, sprint to the ruins, past a bunch of abyss mages and hilichurls, and the dude's in like, a random lil room in the ruins. You needed to have good reaction speed to attack right before landing so that you travel as far as possible after dashing off the cliff (or sacrifice that character), sprint through a ruin that is on the water and not get hit by abyss mages on the way. For me this one was the most annoying one because my game somehow had that one fuckin lil area that wasn't touched by water along the path, but it somehow burned me DESPITE NOT HAVING ANY FIRE NEARBY. THERE WASN'T EVEN A FIRE ABYSS MAGE ANYWHERE. HOW TF DID I GET BURNED?? I literally tried that one delivery 6 times before i got it to work. I actually quite liked the event, but to that one dude in the ruins, I hate you.

I STARTED DURING THIS EVENT! Honestly, I don’t know how I didn’t gave up on this game after all the pain and suffering I went through with the guy on the islands in Liyue NOT HAVING FULL STAMINA BAR AND HAVING TO SWIM TO ANOTHER ISLAND. Anyway, I kinda wish they would one day make a similar event, so new players can experience the trauma too
... no... we need new people not less people.. If they do make a new one where you have to deliver food all over the map (Fontaine) without gettting wet... Rage will be thyne and Fontaine will be traumacenter of Genshin...
I kinda want to experience the event but with less strict rules and requirements. I'm sure Hoyo don't want to lose players.
I think I'm the only one who actually liked this event, it taught me that I could use plunge attacks to negate fall damage and the vast majority of deliveries were fun (boat girl is not included, I ended up having to use geo traveller's rock to get to her).
I really hope it comes back in a revamped form someday with a lot of the issues ironed out.

honestly same as well, this event taught me about the plunge attack negate and thank god I learn that because I HATED the one where you can't clime, run get wet, glide, and your spawn is at the mountain (you also don't have a custom spanner to use in the old days in Genshin)

Dude! This event is pissing me off even to this day. Why must you remind me of this?! They literally arrange is so precisely in order for it to feel like a literal hell! There's this costumer in Mondstadt where you literally have to dodge so many Hillichurls and Samachulrs that I swear was not there normally left and right.
I think I must have repressed those traumatizing memories of the event because once you began talking about it… all those painful memories came back at once.
I think this event traumatized me so thoroughly I forgot about it. This was opening up old wounds! Another cruel one was an NPC across the water from Dawn Winery. This was back when Dragonspine and the Pale Flame/ Tenacity domain wasn't out yet, so you couldn't go that way, nor teleport out there. You also couldn't get affected by the elements
correct me if I'm wrong, that was the last NPC to deliver and I did struggle so many times til I got it in clutch. 🥲
for a second i thought this was gonna be about an event that happened after i stopped playing and i was gonna come in and be all like "haha wow i missed some crazy stuff huh" and then i realized what you were about to talk about and alllll the bad memories of this event came back 😭 i still remember stepping in a puddle that looked no deeper than my ankle at best and having the food be considered wet

I literally stopped playing Genshin during the month when this event was running just because of it. I had some other things to do in that time and this event was the cherry on top for me to quitting it. I recovered myself of not completing this event (one of the very few events I didn't complete on this game) after some time and got back to the game btw
I remember I livestream the first ever event and due to the PlayStation 4 it was the most laggiest thing I’ve experienced. Especially, with Venti’s Ult dropping every possible frame possible. That moment right there was the perfect moment of this game. I’m glad I livestream it and kept it. Such an joyful history

Tbh the food delivery event looks way more fun than the events we are getting now.
I joined in 1.3 so i didn't play it but finding ways to not get affected by elements and making the best and fastest route to get to the npc's and trying to not use the sprint button or glide button looks way more fun to me than taking a picture of a bird in fontaine.
I bet it will be even more fun when you use character skills like zhongli pillar or xiao dash or kazuha jump and make use of them in the best way possible.

As a dark souls player, I absolutely loved this event. It was actually a challenge for once. The girl in the boat gave me a tough time, as I didnt have any characters who could create platforms (I forgot about the existence of geo traveller coz I never used him). Ended up climbing a box and jumping to the boat flawlessly. So fun.
Right? I love challenges that's not beat the ooga booga sh*t out of it and you win, and that's basically all there is these days. I enjoy hard things that are fun and unique. I remember jumping into a box too. Then I wondered what people were complaining about. I remember the oni event where they had those bounce the ball and break the brick game and I've missed it ever since, but the elite gamers thought it was stupid and shouldn't return. So we're now back to mostly beating the crap out of enemies and photo errands.

It wasn't bad imo, it required us to get an idea of the entire surroundings such as checking for puddles, cryo/pyro flowers, electro crystals, know the enemy locations. There were even some creative ideas the community found back in the day for this event such as sliding down cliffs to cut time, last second plunge attacks instead of gliding. The one and only shitty thing was as you shown at 4:37, and it was even worse on mobile. It took some retrying but I would say it was definitely fun.
The most annoyed I felt was with 1.3 Lantern Rite side-quests. There were like 20 quests with random NPCs. That was such a chore

I don't understand people saying this event was hard. I played since launch and I never thought this event was any challenge at all. Sure, I sometimes have to repeat the order but it's not that bad, I only had to repeat once or twice until I get it right. I always see this thing cited as the hardest event in the game but I'd argue it's the hypostasis event where you can choose exactly how hard you want the challenges to be. Although, the difficulty IS optional, if you do activate the challenges, it WILL be super hard. Especially for non-whale players.
Yo Amber was top tier for this. Everyone else was going crazy to avoid enemies, meanwhile my smart ass used Amber and just threw her taunt at enemies so they wouldn't hit me.

Many guys say that this event is one of the worst, but I'm here waiting for it to return. Or at least something similar to this. It might be kind of bull, but it's a challenging kind of fun. Traversing the terrain to familiarize yourself, finding the optimal route and avoiding obstacles that ruins the run. I think many don't find this fun because it's so punishing, but I myself like it when I learn from mistakes and try again.

The game had so many bugs and issues at that time that we volunteers helped other players fix their problems. I was an active helper back then called "AquaRose", not many people might remember me. But I was there during a lot of internal discussions for the current Seelie Guide role. It was super fun back then XD

No it was just hard and not really fun. Most of the rules were made for the delivery to make it just a hassle instead of fun. Particulary the whole element one where you could have your run ruined only because your foot barely touch an invisible puddle of water in middle land.
