Similar accident happened between 2 coworkers. Guy who reversed tried to blame the guy he backed into. Thankfully the business opposite the lights had video footage of it, showing Mr Full Send Reverser 100% in the wrong.

my mum always told me when she did her driving test (in a country town back sometime in the 80s) it was the local police sergeant who did it and all he had her do was go up the street, chuck a u-turn and then back down the street back to the police station. probably helped that she regularly drove round the army base my dad was posted to so he knew she could drive well and just needed to do the formalities XD
When I did my driving test in 1964 the cop failed me because he reckoned I had exceeded the speed limit by 1 mile an hour over on a downhill run. But I think it was because i almost put him through the windscreen when he told me to do an emergency stop. I was ready for it but he wasn't. It wasn't very convenient for me because it meant another week of driving without a licence until I could take another test. Haven't had the opportunity to demonstrate my fast reactions again in a test as surprisingly I've never lost my licence. Had plenty of occasions where it's come in handy avoiding crashes though. Especially when riding a motorbike.

first video shows why its time for the state/federal gov to step in and mandate ALL trucks to have lane change safety tech fitted and any operator without them is straight up banned from operating entirely. They are standard on new trucks, a quick google search of the big brands current lineup reveals that, and still trucks merge into cars every week. Also im guessing lots of stolen cars this week
The truckies complain about blind spots, yet North America and Europe have managed to build trucks with mirrors and cameras to eliminate them. A lot of truckies just don't use their mirrors.

People are given drivers licenses that should never be allowed on the road. The government cares more about money than safety.
They care about votes, and we keep giving them millions of those. (not mine)
They replaced police patrols with fixed speed cameras... Then ran hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising telling everyone that speeding is the only road safety thing to worry about.
So now we have absolutely clueless, shitty, selfish drivers who genuinely think they're perfect drivers because they have never been fined for speeding.
Drivers also become complacent and lax with their driving 'skills' over the years.

first video shows why its time for the state/federal gov to step in and mandate ALL trucks to have lane change safety tech fitted and any operator without them is straight up banned from operating entirely. They are standard on new trucks, a quick google search of the big brands current lineup reveals that, and still trucks merge into cars every week.

The truckies complain about blind spots, yet North America and Europe have managed to build trucks with mirrors and cameras to eliminate them. A lot of truckies just don't use their mirrors.
