    Saw this video and made one. I love it! No straps. No falling off. And just pick up your kayak to remove. Also stores on top so you don't have to run back to the vehicle. Thank you for this!

      Been going thru the same issue. After yesterday I am gonna make one myself. I can now park once load the kayak add them under it. Drag it to the boat launch out of the way of real boaters lol. Stick it on the back of the kayak and head out .

    Your explanation is very good my friend, the car you built is both very useful and can be easily adapted to any canoe. I have a Feelfree kayak and I'm going to build one identical to this car. Thanks

    Did something similar awhile back and then I recreated the cart and added rod holders into cart. Just an Idea for you to add. It does mean version 2 but it is easy to add some Ts in the long vertical pieces and then adapter another T into that T that you can use as a rod holder I have 4 (1 on each vertical PVC run and then 2 on the bottom horizontal run). Makes the cart sturdier as well. Nonetheless, it just fun to mess with. Thanks for the video, keep it up!

    cool idea. how do you remove it and put back on while its still in the water?

    • @SaltwaterHorizonsFishing
      @SaltwaterHorizonsFishing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s made for taking the kayak over land so you don’t have to carry it or drag it, however you still have to lift the kayak to remove it and then launch by hand. When you are done, pull the kayak onto land and pick up the back end or turn it on its side to re-install. Thank you!

    I was wondering if it would be beneficial to spray the tubes full of Great Stuff before adding the two last tees and reducers where the axles go?
    My thinking is it might make it more rigid

    • @SaltwaterHorizonsFishing

      Appreciate the feedback! I can but unless you have the same kayak, it likely won’t fit. It’s just 1” sch 40 pvc and 1” pvc “tee” fittings. If you have the same one I can measure and let you know

    Very rarely are scupper holes reinforced to be capable of withstanding the pressure carts that style that put on them. Only a few manufacturers do it. Great idea but just something to consider.

    • @SaltwaterHorizonsFishing
      @SaltwaterHorizonsFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate the feedback! The weight of it should be on the bar spanning the bottom of the kayak so unless you’re trying to pull it over large obstacles there shouldn’t be too much pressure on the scuppers and I think it should be okay

      I have a Glide Trolley in the rear scupper holes of a 3 Waters Big Fish 120 decked out with a large lithium battery and crate at the back and it doesn't even bother it. You can push the trolley under water and it floats upward into the scupper holes and you simply walk out of the water. Too easy.

    about how long are the lengths that go through the scupper holes.

  • @daver2964
    @daver2964 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    i think its a great video...I am uncertain about compromising the scupper hole integrity...especially if there is a mold line there. Great thing is that you look like you wont need a tie down around kyak. I think I will take idea, and make one with a football goal post that just gives me a 4-6 inch riser, and of course will use a tie down (not ratchet style)cam straps. This also will allow me to place in yak, (if need) without compromising the rod holders i have also. Overall...thank you for the ideas, great video.

      Interesting, thank you for the feedback. Make sure it is sch 40 pvc as it is stronger than sch 80. 1.25” would be stronger than 1” as well so that might help although 1” may still have to be used for the uprights if using the scupper holes, not sure if the 1.25” would fit.
