Queen Elizabeth was amazed the first day she visited Nairobi. She was like? "I'm I in London or Nairobi?" She then nicknamed it "Green City Under the Sun"
Thank you for the fantastic reaction. Nairobi has a National Park with all the major big five, and the Karura Forest, which is great if you want to venture into the woods. All the trees help reduce pollution from the cars, and Kenya is now planting 15 billion more trees. Every citizen is requested to plant 2,000 trees, on every space of land available. The Government want to increase the forest cover to 30% of the entire country.
Am a 🇰🇪N, but I love Africa as a whole. Nigerians have a rich culture and a lot of wisdom despite what is happening to the country. I pray that one day, Africa will realise its the roots of the universe. Until then, let's continue to build ourselves. Its TIME 😊.
Like I mentioned in your previous video, South Africa had the infrastructure advantage back in the days. Now most of the continent is quickly catching up with construction everywhere, youtube is not gonna show you all this.
… not to blame anyone but the reason the TH-camr from this clip and others keep repeating the same scenery is cause they go to one or two locations, setup their drone, film and thats it without going to more places, so they end up with a short clip.
.. another major reason is that most African countries restrict where you can film, others don’t even allow you to film at all, which is something that needs to be looked into.
@@therndabt that's actually true I'm from Nairobi and not to blame anyone as well but Nairobi as a whole is a very large area and it would be extremely hard for the youtuber to show the whole of Nairobi as it started and developed to the point where it's at right now.....
I try to show my friends here that all of Africa is not as portrayed. I lived in Nairobi I even saw the area in grew up in( Karen) it’s amazing to see this reaction 🎉😍 Asante sana , you guys must visit .. you are welcomed to come 🤗
Yeah Nairobi in Kenya is super vibrant city.. with a lot of fun.. it's very modern... A very young and talented population. Music vibe unbelievable.. Good artists like Arrow boy.. Nadia mukami... and More... A very large Indian population... they got it made... it's worth to pay a visit.
Like any country, Kenya has it's share of issues that we'll continue trying to sort out. But it just warms my heart when folks like y'all help to shine a light on the immense beauty and potential of this great country. Nairobi remains among the top destinations corporations consider when trying to establish a presence in Africa. Behind only Johannesburg.
Nairobi, like most towns in Kenya, was a city built by the British colonialists for the British! Only the cities in the Coast grew organically and were built by the Africans (Zinj) now referred to as the Swahili.
You're doing a great job enlightening the majority population that doesnt know much about Africa..👏🏾👏🏾. That my city, im from Kenya, currently residing here in DFW area too (Richardson). We need to catch up sometime so i can tell you more about my country..❤️
The greenery is because there's a law, for you to cut down a tree especially in Nairobi CBD... You need a license/permission to do so, and it won't be you cutting it down, they usually send the City Council officers..if you cut one without permission, you can be arrested or fined... The penalties are very high to cut down major trees.
It's Every where in Africa you can't cut down a public tree planted by the government to protect the environment you're gonna be arrested band fined, and can't film easily public building
Kenya has had the advantage of being peaceful and stable for the last 60 years, The current constitution has enabled the country to spread development to all corners and the sky is the limit despite many challenges the future looks very bright
Nairobi is a beautiful city but also EXPENSIVE. For anyone planning to settle in Kenya temporarily or permanently, consider also small towns or rural areas. Life in rural areas can also be very satisfying living on your own farm growing your own food, keeping your own animals enjoying your peace and quite and spending less. I suggest the follwoing less known small towns or rural areas: 1. Kitale 2. Kericho 3. Kakamega 4. Matunda 5. Homa Bay 6. Meru 7. Taveta 8. Narok 9. Naro Moru 10. Chemelil
Nairobi, the Green City in the Sun is such a delight. Green, trendy, healthy weather (average 25 degree C), easily accessible to other global cities (4-8hrs to Dubai/Cape Town/Cairo/London/Bombay). The Safari Capital of the world is just a drive away to the best safari spots in Africa. Cosmopolitan with global mix of influences. Best expat life and perks for those working in multinationals and UN agencies (Mark you, Nairobi is the only city in the Global South hosting UN HQs (UNEP)
As the host of UNITED NATIONS OFFICE at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN's Headquarters in Africa and one of 4 main UN secretariat duty stations, UNON is the global headquarters of the UNITED NATIONS ENVIROMENTAL PROGRAMME and the UNITED NATIONS HUMAN SETTLEMENTS PROGRAMME (UN-HABITAT) as well as 23 UN Agencies or country offices and several Regional hubs. This has made Nairobi strive to stay ahead to maintain the honor bestowed on its shoulder when the world body made a decision to build one of its 4 four headquarters here in Kenya. The other 3 being in NEW YORK USA, GENEVA Switzerland and VIENNA Austria. This is one of the main attributes that makes Nairobi and Kenya stand out in Africa and Globally to those in the know.
If ya'll are in Dallas FW... Nairobi is like 30 times the size of where you currently reside. You asked how busy it is.... The right answer is that it's more like New York. Lots of traffic and lots of pedestrians
It is not the same place from different angles, please pay a visit to Nairobi and you will not leave in a while, Nairobi is quite huge and very green 😀
The video mentioned good weather because the temperature ranges between 13-15ºC in the morning (55-59ºF) to 23-26ºC during as the hottest part of the day (73-78ºF), throughout the whole year. There are 2 seasons, the rainy season and the dry season.
Thanks for showcasing my city, Nairobi hosts United Nations Environment Programme, it's the only city outside New York, Geneva and Vienna that hosts United Nations program.....
My home Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪 is the 8th richest country in Africa. And International Export in tea, coffee, horticulture, petroleum products, just to name a few. It really is developing fast, however I don't like that they've destroyed beautiful homes to build high-rise appartments. I'll never have the opportunity to visit my childhood home. I only have memories through photos 😭. However, nice video & I liked your reactions. I've noticed a lot of African Americans are now seeing the real Africa and not what the movies and media portray it to be.
