    Those bows! I tried to pipe buttercream bows on a cake last Christmas and ut was a disaster! You make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing. I am determined to get better. I'll be practicing this one. ❤

    • @CakesWithLorelie
      @CakesWithLorelie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the bows are probably the hardest thing to do. They don't all have to look exact or perfect. Also creating that space between the ribbon is easiest if you do an exaggerated triangular shape. If that makes sense. It's hard to explain certain things in cake decorating. LOL Have fun Michele.

    My cakes always lean over, they also fall while slicing, please help me why am I having this problem and my buttercream cracks all around the cake

    • @CakesWithLorelie
      @CakesWithLorelie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kim, Make sure the layers are even and use buttercream to make a ring around each layer before filling. Refrigerate your cakes in between steps to firm the buttercream. this will hold the layers while you finish them with a top coat. As far as slicing them goes use a very sharp knife. You may have to dip the knife in water and wipe it in between slicing. Remember that when the cakes are on the soft side they may not slice perfectly. If you want perfect slices cut the cake while it's still on the cool side. When I slice them for a photo or a tasting, I do that. I then cover the slices in plastic as they thaw so they won't dry out. Butter contracts and expands with temperature. You won't be able to totally avoid the cracking. if the cakes are frozen bring them to refrigerator temp first. Then room temperature. Slower the better. Hope that helps
