I remember when my friend got his new in '86. The digital dash instruments blew everyone's mind. Ahhh, the memories of the 1980's.

I have an identical 87 here in Australia. I paid $19000 for it in 2007. My insurance company has automatically increased it's sale value to $24000 so i guess that's a win.

I know alot about these '86 Corvettes!
The convertible came out in March of '86. The first Corvette convertible since 1975.
In mid '86 the engine went from iron to aluminum.
The rims also went from iron to aluminum.
The Anti Lock Brake System (ABS) was
    introduced.
The VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) was introduced.
The third brake light was introduced.
The '86 Corvette convertible was limited to 144 MPH top speed. Coupes could go to155 MPH top speed.
All 1986 Corvette Convertibles were pace car editions.
    Horsepower was 230
    Torque was 330 ft pounds
    0-60 in 6.1 seconds
    New in 1986;
    coupe $32,000
    Convertible $37,000
I didn't look thus info up, I knew all of this in my head. I've been a true C4 car nut since 1984 and never looked back! Which by the way Video Bob, I sure wished I could've bought the '84 Vette from the A-team from you several years ago...
Question; not that it matters but how many miles is on this '86 Vette?

Only the cylinder heads changed to aluminium, the engine block was still iron.

That would make a great Face man’s car from the ATeam. Wish I could afford it and lived in the US

That dash brings back memory’s. I had an 84 Crossfire. It was actually a really good car.
I’ve not seen one like it in a long while. It was a manual. Think it was called a 3 over 4 trans. You go through 4 gears and flip a switch and it would drop into a higher gear, be doing like 80 barely bumping the RPMs.

We had an 87’ with 17k miles I sure had a tough time selling it but neat cars! Usually they are all ragged out. Solid drive terrain.

Rear wheels need switching from side to side. Nice though! Is the steering wheel leather good? Steering column tight? People would grab & pull on the wheel to get out of the car, causing the column to loosen.
I believe that the 86 Indy Pace Car was the first pace car that needed no modifications to pace the field although I've also heard that the 89 Turbo T/A holds that title.

Bonnet, so European and correct, great car fella, looking at the digital dash board, night rider came to my mind straight away, you Americans are craving manual gearbox now, and we Europeans left them behind as archaic boxes behind, we are all double clutch autos or ZF8,s

quick question: for these soft roof convertables, can they seal the interior completely, or anyone can just get their hands inside and damage the car?

Bob, nice car. But momma won't let me buy it. But when you decide to sell the GX350 even in a year or so, let us know on youtube. Don't list it on eBay. Save the fees. I would be very interested in it.I have been looking at them in the NW Indiana area, and wouldn't be able to get one like that for the price you got yours. That was a deal.
