I saw the documentary years ago - what a fine guy - and later I found out that he was seriously ill. It breaks my heart to hear that only his house was sold, but his incredible stereo system was sold at auction for peanuts. That would have broken Mr. Ken Fritz's heart, too. i could cry
A absolutely amazing man. What he created is nothing short earth moving in the audio world. He will be surly missed.
"I'm happy. I created something." Wonderful attitude.
You will be sad to know that Ken is gone and his system was sold off piece meal for pennies on the dollar and thats the saddest end to work to build something and it go to absolute waste. Those 3 giant loudspeakers sold for next to nothing it broke my heart to see the final auction prices. RIP Ken some things take too long.
Quite sad, surprised his family did not want to keep it
That’s system is only unique to a handful of ears and only a small amount of those ears could even afford it or have the space for it .
@@michaela.5363 His family hated the stereo as much as the man
In my opinion ken Fritz was a wonderful people with big love for music , for the good side of humanity a bright star in our world in fiew words! A rare people! All times I will remember Ken Fritz with love and I will pray for him from far Greece! Ken lives in our hearts! ❤❤❤💐🌞
P.s. I have seen all videos about great Ken Fritz! 😊
An audio hero who created amazing sound by splitting the speaker frequency into dozens...
Sometimes your worst enemies are your own family members.
Treat your family nicely, Ken was a nasty selfish person, this is the end result
Rest Easy Fritz well done sir
Sold off all his gear, where's the luv?
A travesty that the system got broken up
Damn shame too.
Great hifi Jedi Master 💯💯💯
It didn’t live on. The family pieced it all out and sold it all.
It's super hard for that to find one home but it was sad to see it go into pieces like that
@@flashzoe I bet some rich audiophile would have gone for it. That place was well known. If I were even just a little rich, I would have gone for it.
What happened to him? I saw his video before maybe 3years ago ang he was perfectly fine.
Listen und look to the clip

On a different note, from what i seen in the other docu, (google it) I have a feeling, he was not a very nice person to deal with. I believe his family took the brunt of his dogmatic ways and his obsessive personality. When he passed, all that stereo stuff reminded the family of who he was. I don't think he left a good memory on his family, he choose to spend time monkeying around with wires and speakers and old records than spending time with his children. The only thing his family can control after he passed was all that wires and speakers and "junk". I can see his older son saying, sell all that crap. At the end he got pennies on the dollar for all that stuff at auction. This mans dreams become another mans yard sale, sad.
If I had enough money to buy his house with everything in it, I wouldn’t hesitate a second to do it. It’s a shame that his children sold out his life’s work, that too as pieces!
Any chance the designs will be released to the public?
And his family sold they system for under $200k
Wow im happy hes still here. He is a legend
What a beautiful life..
What an irony...
That obviously was not complete whole stereo system somebody has the turntable somebody else has something blah blah blah blah blah family has the most valuable pieces
His family was ok with selling the system? Imagine owning the complete system and sitting in the chair at the sweet spot and listening to a song. Knowing it was the life ambition of a man that poured his heart and soul into it. I hope someone assembles it all again.
The fact it was sold piece by piece for peanuts at a open house auction says alot about how his daughter and wife stand in life and with his legacy...or they have financial issues and had to sell quick, or they found it a burden to keep the system and rather sell it ...the thing that strikes me is the fact that the whole room is sold to a degree that nothing left ( even stuff that had nothing to do with the hifisystem was sold for penny's).
@@SuperScalemaster He was estranged from one of his sons and refused his call when he was on his death bed. They'd had an argument years before where the son said he wished he'd die a slow death. His first wife divorced him. All of his kids couldn't have friends over because he's put them to work. They never took vacations and went camping only once.
He forced his kids to get up at 6AM to work for him.
There's a NYT article on this.
This could have been a source of love and pride for this family but instead it drove them apart.
They all wanted out of this house, obviously.
@@Kinann tnx for the inside, didnt know any of this history between Ken Fritz and his family..makes total sense that they sold it as soon as possible and i hope they find peace and more important a new start as a whole family.
Edit: ive read the story on the WP and is a sad story indeed and it makes real sense now why the set is sold (and the house?) those 5 kids lost alot of there puberty and young adult life to the will of dad...
