  • There is no end to cure when there is no end to care. This is Palliative Care. Palliative Care doesn't help one die peacefully but enables him or her live until the last breath. Although it may include end-of-life care, palliative care is much broader making one live better, happier, and longer. It is about being comfortable for the duration of something necessary and painful, making bad times easier. The goal of palliative care is to provide relief from the symptoms, and stress of a serious illness- whatever the diagnosis.
Palliative care is a very special part of the healthcare service delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated professionals. The goal is to improve the quality of life of patients and their families by identifying and treating the whole person, physically, psychologically, spiritually and socially. It is therefore a holistic approach, which aims to give patients and their families the very best quality of life. But how does it benefit cancer patients? Can it prolong their lives and provide those fighting a way to live without pain and suffering?
