Elder Kings 2 is a total conversion mod which aims to bring Crusader Kings 3's roleplay-grand strategy experience to the Elder Scrolls universe created by Bethesda Softworks. Set during the chaotic Interregnum of the Second Era about a thousand years before the events of the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Elder Kings 2 allows players to take an active role in the four-hundred years of strife that saw local warlords, petty kings, and spiritual leaders compete over the remnants of the Empire. It features a highly detailed, entirely new world map covering the landmasses of Tamriel and Yokuda, based on both official lore maps and supplemental cartographic sources as well as established and popular fan interpretation. Likewise all major and many minor races of Tamriel are fully realised with 3D models and playable, including custom clothing and map object assets for many races to provide a greater level of immersion in the styles and aesthetics of Tamriel. For Humans, Elves and Orcs it is also to possible to conceive mixed offspring, creating lore-accurate dynamic hybrids.
Mechanically, Elder Kings 2 tweaks some vanilla systems and expands upon some mechanics so as to do justice to a fantasy setting like The Elder Scrolls, such as adding a nativity region system to cultures, or pantheons and patron deities to religion. You will also be able to discover and master multiple entirely new mechanics, like a magic system based on the Schools of Magic, vampirism, a playable Mane with custom incarnation-based succession and much more.
Over one hundred unique new experiences of medieval larger-than-life drama wait to be discovered in the new event pack. From rival noble houses holding lifelong grudges to childhood bullies, summer crushes, and spoiling spouses with lavish gifts. I find some part of the eso lore a little bit bizarre, but I love how they implemented obscure old lore as example the fox people in Blackmarsh.

Wow. That is one of the worst starts to a series I've ever seen. Instantly losing your strongest alliance and you wife killing your heir.
Its pretty much hardcoded for whiterun to break the alliance, done this character 3 times and he declared war on me everytime.

Whiterun broke of its alliance with me as well when I made other alliances as Hakkvild. The way that I got back the Kingdom of Falkreath/Falcrenth after that was to get the Scholar trait, which put me over 10 Arcana, invest into conjuration, summon an atronach and perform some rituals, which gave me prowess, and then defeat Yashnag in a fight to the death for the kingdom.

The answer is simple.
Summon Daedra and/or Dremora, if available concubine/consort slot, make them that.
Spouse if option is available.
But seriously, that escalated really friggin' quick, that's worthy of a restart.
This mod gave me a reason to play this game again. Man, I love Elder Scrolls.

Oh man thats a really rough start haha. Coincidentally for my first character I chose the Orc that currently holds your title! The Orcs and other similar cultures are the ones that use Rule By Might succession law and they have a bunch of other neat little mechanics and events as well. The former orc capitol has a special site to the west so I've made the goal of that playthrough to rebuild Old Orsinium
Hey, do you know why none of the orc courtiers can marry? I play Mountain Orcs near Old Orsinium and only the ruling class seem to find potential mates. Thx
@@loicduchesne6891 yep its part of their religion, check the religion and you should see something called like "marriage rights" or something and for them its set to landholders only. Thats how it works in the lore as well, its why the chiefs have so many wives

I remember watching your your original elder kings playthrough for CK2 and it was so fun. Glad to see you playing the new CK3 version of Elder kings
Hakkvild is definitely one of the coolest starts. Starting off I had him conquer a few minor Falkreath territories before challenging Yashnag to a duel to the death for the Kingship of Falkreath. Managing to defeat him, Hakkvild finally reclaimed his home and promptly began an expulsion of all Orcs by any means necessary. Then he conquered much land from the Reachmen, including eventually Markarth, to become one of the most powerful Kings in Skyrim.
Currently still playing my campaign as him, so glad to see you’re doing the same!
30:30 Fun Fact! The "Arrow to the Knee" line there is actually a reference to a common belief you'll see passed around online that "Taking an arrow to the knee" used to be a Norse phrase referring to marriage-sort of in a similar vein to how folks call a spouse a ball and chain and whatnot. In reality no historical record of the phrase exists, and the line really was just supposed to be a funny thing guards said about getting a bad knee and settling down for guard duty, but apparently the idea is still popular enough that they decided to reference it in the mod. Neat!

This mod is awesome, a daedric prince offer me to become his champion, I resist. But now the one who becomes the daedric prince champion is the king of heartland, the seat of past cyrodiil empire and he can finance every mercenary to work for him.
I remember like 5 months ago me and my brother played this together where i was the leader of western Skyrim and he was the leader of eastern Skyrim. I remember that I was making like 20 gold per month and had a huge economic empire with tons of allies and he had a huge necromancy military. We both started basically a 20 year long world war to help me get the imperial city and it was the most fun I’ve ever had playing ck3

The thing most people didn't understand about the "arrow to the knee" meme, is that it meant getting married.
Just FYI TES Legends Battlespire, is separate from the Elder Scrolls: Legends. Both share the name legends, but are different games (confusing I know). Battlespire is set during the Simulacrum and Legends is set during the Great War
True. Honestly From what I've heard it's almost more like a TES version of Jedi knight jedi academy, except the jedi are Battlemages and demons from hell are invading the jedi academy lol

I did this start the other day and ended up dueling the Orc Chieftain for his claim, apparently this is canonically what he does
Lost my first orc ruler to a dragon event, and his first son to a duel. Tough life the orcs. Who could have guessed...

Just to clarify: at 4:20 Elder Scrolls Legends: Battlespire was a dungeon crawl game (that was basically all you did there wasn't an overworld really to explore) and came out in 1997 or thereabouts and took place in 3E 172. You're thinking of Elder Scrolls: Legends that was the card game and took place between 4E 171 to 4E 175 during the Great War.
Given legends is in both names I can understand the confusion but they are otherwise completely different. Different year, plot, era, genre, etc.

I have done one skaal play throughout where I had just united solstheim and reformed the religion. In the same game I got raided by house Rodian so I raid them back as revenge they declare a holy war for Solstheim they have roughy 4 times my troops but I some how win. Shortly after the war they end up in a civil war which they lose as they don’t have any troops. And I just raid for a while and then In start my conquest of Skyrim. And after I conquered like half of Skyrim my heir gets assassinated and I die in battle against orcs. So I’m now a 12 year old who has to defeat an orc kingdom. End up winning. Then the Dunmer strike again with aloes this time and they have roughly 14k troops when I got 4K. And I end up losing as I was also like 300 in debt. After that it all went down hill I kind of raged quit.

I was under the impression that elder scrolls online took place during the same time that daggerfall took place. I thought that the whole reason that these Imperial capital Was over thrown in the Elder scrolls online was because of the emperor being kidnapped and replaced by a doppelgänger which is the storyline in Daggerfall.
That's actually the story of Elder Scrolls: Arena. The first game.
In either case, ESO takes place almost a thousand years before Arena and even before Tiber Septim began his conquests of Tamriel.
I believe that Elder kings takes place prior to the formation of the Empire with all of the His nations were separate. The fact that the Fowler are still in their original form means that it takes place even before the Lord's conquer didn't slave them

i also played the same character a little, and my start was much better. I became king almost immediately, using the duel for title option. so i killed that orc in a duel, he had 24 prowess, i had 28.
I wish Atmora was in CK3 Elder kings 2 too. I want to see an Atmoran sit on the Ruby Throne.

is there no argonians or bretons ? if its based after eso argonians should be there and the high elves should be in control of cyrodial plus bretons should be at high rock with the orcs

Just a little thing to do first is check out your courtiers (you will probably have a cheap physician and some fighters in there. Then marry them off to high learning/steward/marshal characters. They will move to your castle and you can employ them in high ranking roles for nothing.
Is anyone having problem downloading Elder kings? I subscribed on steam and ck3 claims it’s downloading,but it has yet to download after several others

The website only has a steam workshop link but in theory there are ways to download the files from there without the game and then move them into the correct place for CK3.

its terrible that u lost the good heir, and at the hands of ur wife, i advise tha u divorce her and marry her sister instead to keep that alliance also make a new heir cuz the one u have currently sucks, he is only god for making an alliance and u should disinherit him to send him to die in battle
