    So refreshing to watch someone using an old affordable vehicle to overland instead of the $100k plus rigs that most people can’t afford as a fun toy.

    • @Whitedogoverland

      That’s why I bought the rav. People think this hobby requires the best of the best, in the end it’s just car camping!

    • @coffeeandlifting
      @coffeeandlifting 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Whitedogoverland Based take. I bought a $5k truck for camping. If I took social media seriously, I would be worried that I need to put $20k into it and add a thousand pounds to the rig in order to survive in the backcountry. But I've taken it out a few times and had no problem. Its a stock manual 4x4. The only time I had any trouble was before installing good A/T tires. Now I go up the rutted steep lines just for fun. I throw in a good air compressor, shovel, maxtrax, and spare jack. I'm confident that my only deficiency is on obstacles that you would only do for fun.

    Nice work and a honest bit of history telling. Not unlike current events going on around this planet at times the term humanity has been lost in definition. I've been listening to "Empire of the Summer Moon". A very good historical account of the Comanche Indians rise and fall. My wife (a German) asked me if it was a fiction or non-fiction book. She had no idea of the violence perpetrated upon all sides in the conquest of the North American continent. Keep it up!

    • @Whitedogoverland
      @Whitedogoverland  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      You’re absolutely right about current events. We’re really ever only told one side and it’s who’s right and who’s wrong. There’s no longer genuine truth behind any matter. This type of history is so unique that’s why I keep coming back to touch on it. Also maybe because it’s in my backyard but it’s something I don’t want to see lost in the translation of time.

    brought back lots of memories... spent my pre-teen, teen years hunting deer, javelina out of the Klondyke area. "Uncle Clay" lived there. drove the County grader on the dirt road from Klondyke to the black top. at the time, Nature Conservancy was coming in, buy out lots of family properties. some grumbling from the folks that grew up there,, us old Native Arizonan. but, I thought it wasn't a bad thing. Now a days. lots of the land is preserved. Did some mountain biking, camping in the area for years. My first Coatimundi's . great area.

      It’s top 5 on my list. I’ve been out there so many times and will continue to return for the rest of my life. The history of the locals runs deep. I talk to the Klondyke store owner for about an hour as well as another rancher in the shop and I could just tell how long they’ve been out there and how well they knew the terrain.

      @@Whitedogoverlandthat is cool. I bought a 05 4runner because i wanted 4wd. A rav4 never even crossed my mind and I think I would have been more satisfied with a smaller nimbler ride. Kudos to you! Great little rig!
