I actually liked this video aloot. What is really weird in hunterxhunter is that gon and killua both have changed too much throughout the series. Gon was too curious to know more about killua and was too caring. But ending the series gon changed to a very selfish character not caring about killua. That was totally different for killua cuz since the first time we saw this character we came to know he is an assassin and gradually he had changed to an emotional character and he became to love gon more than before.Killua is very calm and genius character. That's why I think most of hunter fans like killua the most. AND IAM ONE OF THEM

I think the needle was a physical representation of anxiety and fear and killua pulling it out was him winning his battle with the fear and anxiety he had always had.
I don’t usually cry or get too emotional when I watch shows, but this one definitely made me feel so many different types of emotions You definitely explain killua’s character and development through out the series very well ! He has good characteristics and I genuinely enjoyed his story!

hunter x hunter was the only anime i've actually been sad about... i mean you have a whole series of good friendship and you feel they are really connected but then they just yknow leave eachother and there's no next season... that makes me sad. well i did hear theres gonna come another season in 0,5-2 years so yeah that makes me happy i think? i dunno i hope it isn't gonna be sad again..
I hear you, but the point is that Killua didn't even know that needle was there. It's not like he knew all he had to do was to take it off. It's like when people with anxiety are told not to be anxious. They have no idea how, because (as you said) there is not an actual thing they can immediately do to "fix" themselves. Killua was able to remove the needle because he realized it was there, or rather he admitted it was there. It's not something he could have done without all the struggles he has been through and without his determination to protect Gon and his love for him.
Yes your character analysis is correct. Killua is just a normal kid, having internal issues. And at the end of the day. He is still the best friend of Gon.

The needle and removing it is metaphorically and physically speaking a way to remove the chains of Illumi. At least in my eyes it was. watching this made me cry so much it just hurts to see killua cry and when killua and gon parted ways man i could not stop crying i really hope that when the anime comes back they will reunite
I'm pretty sure that the author intended for all of killuas anxiety to come from the needle that Illumi planted into his head. It would make sense considering how before Illumi came back, he was almost never anxious about what would happen to Gon. He never really thought about it as much as he did later on. And then illumi pops up and suddenly he's going through this turmoil of events. I believe that his anxiety came from the needle and that Illumi was told to bring killua back home and using the needle to manipulate him into doing what he did was the way to go. I don't know if you have noticed but every single time that killua is at home, he never gets any of those anxious thought but whenever he leaves, he seems to get all of them. And it's only when he's alone with an opponent. That has me believing that Illumi is manipulating him selectively and on purpose.
Honestly,I'm very happy Killua and Gon have each other,and while many fans cried at the end of HxH because they went their seperate ways,I was happy! A bond like theirs can never break and I know that in 3 years max they will reunite;I highly doubt they could even last that long without communicating with each other. Plus,no matter how you interprete their relationship(platonic or romantic)they're definitely soulmates!

Killua has strong parallels with something, and through alluka's enraged speech towards them he realised that he also is important, that he is needed as a person and doesn't have to be with gon to fulfil his self esteem and self worth. I think through this he became a more distinct individual, and decided that he didn't need to be with gon in order to feel accepted as a person
i cried watching this because i think killua's journey is kinda similar to my own, and he is one of my comfort characters. i agree with averything you said. my boy has to learn to give himself value. we can do it. i know we can.
My complaint with the needle was less about an ass pull, and more about how responsibility for Killua overcoming his trauma switched from an internal battle to an external one with a plot macguffin. Listening to you helped me conceptualize how it reflects his relationships, and while I still wish Killua suffered a consequence like loss of power, this video helped me frame my thoughts and better understand author intent. Thank you.

I really felt that scene with the needle was a sort of cop out by Togashi. Instead of having Killua overcoming his problem on his own (which he was literally starting to do in that same scene) he just stuck his fingers in his head and pulled Illumi's needle (which happened to be there) out. It would have been so satisfying to see Killua becoming mentally stronger and finding a way to accept himself and his weaknesses, but alas, we will never see that happen. Such a great video, as always.
Killua’s my favorite character for pretty much the reasons this entire video covers. This was great! And I love Killua and Gon’s dynamic and how necessary it was for both of them to grow but also how it has changed and matured into something better and hopefully even better after their time apart.

The fact that he can resist it at all proves it isn't making him do anything that he wouldn't do on his own, it's just inhibiting change. It's clearer in the manga that his head is throbbing from continuing to resist his habit of running away -- whereas in the hunter exam he just gives in to his fear of Illumi and so he doesn't get any headaches. *Illumi has shown two kinds of manipulation of others: needle people (closer to Shalnark's ability where host loses fine motor skills -- unless he uses 2 needles like Killua's driver in the Election arc), and hypnotic spell with Killua. Remember Kurapika in the exam stating that Killua must have been hypnotized by his brother to kill Bodoro and that hypnotism would only be effective on a person who generally lacks remorse in doing so, such as Killua due to his professional assassin childhood.

I know I'm very late to this video but when I added this to my Hunter x Hunter playlist I created I didn't even know what is was about and I'm kinda still confused about 30% of the things you explained (not being rude) but I just hope they get back together again some sort of way because in my perspective they were like brothers to each Other and just for me to know they split apart just instantly makes me not want to watch it anymore it just breaks my heart to see them split apart like that when there Are a lot of fun times they had and I think I'm somewhere on episode 40 something and I don't want to have to stop it so early like that especially with how many episodes there are all together but just by me hearing what you explain immediately shattered my heart into hundreds of pieces and now it's like losing your apitite I just instantly made me loose the feeling to even watch it anymore but I do hope they reunite again because it's always with the animes I love the first one mha (I don't think anything bad happened yet ) then I think demon slayer it instantly became my favorite but there aren't enough episodes and season's then same goes for Love, chunibyo THAT I'm in love with but oh come to my supprise there's I high chance there aren't going to be another part to it for either a few years from now or they simply gave up or they just Idk stopped making episodes and or season's because soon they will all grow out of they're I guess little delusional state or whatever you want to call it but like stuff like that just instantly makes me feel real empty and sad etc ( also I'm not trying to come at you for making this because it at least warns me for what's unexpected in a handful of episodes from now whenever that will be At least but I just wanted to explain how I feel like stuff like this should not keep going on because for me Idk about anybody else but it will become very frustrating from me also I know I should have let myself know ahead of time ) ( welcome to the world of anime ) because I know stuff like this happens in a ton of animes I may be wrong because I'm not that familiar with the anime franchise but all I know Is that sometimes when I go to watch like Love, chunibyo wich I just started watching a few days ago maybe a week or two ago and I've already been finished with it and Its like. I need to know more about that anime and I just need to watch more of it same goes for demon slayer where are the episodes I need we'll what WE Need along with Love, chunibyo But I know the animating must take a long time because they are humans as Well and at the end of the day they also have lives as Well same with family members and so on so it can take time to get another episode for stuff like demon slayer and Love, chunibyo and also maybe Hunter x Hunter too so and that's what I need to understand but sometimes they just simply quit or stop making season's or episodes for the anime in general but once again just what I stated to myself above they are also humans and they also have lives like the rest of us so it is gonna take them years or maybe months to get back into the swing of things but can they at least make episodes and stuff for the anime here and there so that WE are not left on a weird lop sided cliffhanger like ending to the anime genre all together but y'know stuff happens in life I don't like but I just have to deal with it and try and cope with it or try and get over it So yeah I know this was pretty long but I have a ton of feelings for the anime franchise in general but I know a lot of them may not come true so I'm gonna have to deal with what I have for now at least and see what happens in the future but for now I'll see what takes place from here on out with the certain animes I named above and whatever happens happens. There is a ton of discussion about whether they separated in good or bad terms, some people even go as far as to say that the whole separation scene was close to a divorce, it would be nice to hear what's your take on that.
Right, looking at their faces as they turn away from each other tells a lot. In my opinion they both look hurt, confused, regretful (like, thinking "am I really making the right decision?"), and just plain sad. BOTH of them look this way. So yeah, I definitely don't see their separation as good, hopeful, happy etc. I think it was the wrong decision and they definitely needed to amend things between each other a lot more than the quick apology. Obviously feelings were still raw for them both. Ahh lol I could rant about this for days.
Something u point out that i didnt notice when analysing Killua's chacter is the paralel btw he wanting to supress Nanika and his view of himself. The Nanika/Alluka and Killua discussion has a lot of weight in chacter growth and presentation, seeing it by the point u did is trully bittersweet, when Nanika had no more use, Killua decided to hide her forever so that Alluka can have a normal life, but Alluka herself didnt want that, stating that Nanika was a part of her and that she also deserved to be protected, is almost like we're seeing a discussion btw two parts of Killua, one that find himself useless and worthless right now, that see themselfs as dispossable and non-deserving of life, and the other who is still bathing in to the life and care he experienced with Gon, his friends and his sisters, missing the other and telling that, even tho right now he's "useless" he still deserves to live and discover other things to do.

Though you re right that he s vulnerable I d argue about 1) It depends on which point of his journey, I d say he s way less vulnerable right at the beginning (as he probably bottles his emotions up and acts a bit like an unbeatable machine) and at the end, after a lot of character development especially with self worth. 2) Though he s vulnerable, but him being the most vulnerable is quite the big claim, especially as you didn t exactly specify in which sense, in general I d say that a lot of the characters are vulnerable (Gon in his inexperience, without thinking, a bit of dependance on others/a child, Kurapika depends on which time, but in general a bit like Killua at the beginning, just that his mental and physical state is on very thin ice, and Leorio physically, (sorry for that) as he isn t exactly like the strongest person regarding strength and power/comparing to Gon, Killua and Kurapika)
The anime is either going to be continued and I will enjoy this series or it will be manga only and I can’t even see what the fuck happened to kurapika or killua

I think if the roles were reversed, gon would've fit better as an assassin than Killua. Considering the former's descent and lost of humanity in chimera ant arc.

I know I'm very late to this video but when I added this to my Hunter x Hunter playlist I created I didn't even know what is was about and I'm kinda still confused about 30% of the things you explained (not being rude) but I just hope they get back together again some sort of way because in my perspective they were like brothers to each Other and just for me to know they split apart just instantly makes me not want to watch it anymore it just breaks my heart to see them split apart like that when there Are a lot of fun times they had and I think I'm somewhere on episode 40 something and I don't want to have to stop it so early like that especially with how many episodes there are all together but just by me hearing what you explain immediately shattered my heart into hundreds of pieces and now it's like losing your apitite I just instantly made me loose the feeling to even watch it anymore but I do hope they reunite again because it's always with the animes I love the first one mha (I don't think anything bad happened yet ) then I think demon slayer it instantly became my favorite but there aren't enough episodes and season's then same goes for Love, chunibyo THAT I'm in love with but oh come to my supprise there's I high chance there aren't going to be another part to it for either a few years from now or they simply gave up or they just Idk stopped making episodes and or season's because soon they will all grow out of they're I guess little delusional state or whatever you want to call it but like stuff like that just instantly makes me feel real empty and sad etc ( also I'm not trying to come at you for making this because it at least warns me for what's unexpected in a handful of episodes from now whenever that will be At least but I just wanted to explain how I feel like stuff like this should not keep going on because for me Idk about anybody else but it will become very frustrating from me also I know I should have let myself know ahead of time ) ( welcome to the world of anime ) because I know stuff like this happens in a ton of animes I may be wrong because I'm not that familiar with the anime franchise but all I know Is that sometimes when I go to watch like Love, chunibyo wich I just started watching a few days ago maybe a week or two ago and I've already been finished with it and Its like. I need to know more about that anime and I just need to watch more of it same goes for demon slayer where are the episodes I need we'll what WE Need along with Love, chunibyo But I know the animating must take a long time because they are humans as Well and at the end of the day they also have lives as Well same with family members and so on so it can take time to get another episode for stuff like demon slayer and Love, chunibyo and also maybe Hunter x Hunter too so and that's what I need to understand but sometimes they just simply quit or stop making season's or episodes for the anime in general but once again just what I stated to myself above they are also humans and they also have lives like the rest of us so it is gonna take them years or maybe months to get back into the swing of things but can they at least make episodes and stuff for the anime here and there so that WE are not left on a weird lop sided cliffhanger like ending to the anime genre all together but y'know stuff happens in life I don't like but I just have to deal with it and try and cope with it or try and get over it So yeah I know this was pretty long but I have a ton of feelings for the anime franchise in general but I know a lot of them may not come true so I'm gonna have to deal with what I have for now at least and see what happens in the future but for now I'll see what takes place from here on out with the certain animes I named above and whatever happens happens. But thank you for explaining what's currently going on with Hunter x Hunter or aka Gon and kilua ( I hope I did not butcher that up ) Because they bring a lot of joy to me when I see them together but now after what I just seen and heard I'm gonna need to re-think some stuff but yeh tysm 💖

There is a ton of discussion about whether they separated in good or bad terms, some people even go as far as to say that the whole separation scene was close to a divorce, it would be nice to hear what's your take on that.
Right, looking at their faces as they turn away from each other tells a lot. In my opinion they both look hurt, confused, regretful (like, thinking "am I really making the right decision?"), and just plain sad. BOTH of them look this way. So yeah, I definitely don't see their separation as good, hopeful, happy etc. I think it was the wrong decision and they definitely needed to amend things between each other a lot more than the quick apology. Obviously feelings were still raw for them both. Ahh lol I could rant about this for days.

Something u point out that i didnt notice when analysing Killua's chacter is the paralel btw he wanting to supress Nanika and his view of himself. The Nanika/Alluka and Killua discussion has a lot of weight in chacter growth and presentation, seeing it by the point u did is trully bittersweet, when Nanika had no more use, Killua decided to hide her forever so that Alluka can have a normal life, but Alluka herself didnt want that, stating that Nanika was a part of her and that she also deserved to be protected, is almost like we're seeing a discussion btw two parts of Killua, one that find himself useless and worthless right now, that see themselfs as dispossable and non-deserving of life, and the other who is still bathing in to the life and care he experienced with Gon, his friends and his sisters, missing the other and telling that, even tho right now he's "useless" he still deserves to live and discover other things to do.

Though you re right that he s vulnerable I d argue about
1) It depends on which point of his journey, I d say he s way less vulnerable right at the beginning (as he probably bottles his emotions up and acts a bit like an unbeatable machine) and at the end, after a lot of character development especially with self worth.
2) Though he s vulnerable, but him being the most vulnerable is quite the big claim, especially as you didn t exactly specify in which sense, in general I d say that a lot of the characters are vulnerable (Gon in his inexperience, without thinking, a bit of dependance on others/a child, Kurapika depends on which time, but in general a bit like Killua at the beginning, just that his mental and physical state is on very thin ice, and Leorio physically, (sorry for that) as he isn t exactly like the strongest person regarding strength and power/comparing to Gon, Killua and Kurapika)
