    My flowerhorns' cok is MASSIVE compared to his body, but his color is super lack luster, almost pale. No tank mates, 75 gallon+.... Mix of food - pellets, baby guppies, dried worms, live wax worms. His top, bottom and tale fins are super long. He appears pale but behaves super interested in me and his tank. What gives with his colors? Thanks Gus!

      Deon 0026 If you start using feeders, avoid gold fish and rosy minnows. They prevent fish from adsorbing vitamins properly. Also mealworms and super worms are bad for young fish if fed to often, because their exoskeletons can cause a blockage and they are high in fat.

      At the end I feed him a few live minnows.
      Some people are sensitive to that.
      Also, the last fish get his head torn open and his eyeball sticks out....i give him feeders all the time, but when I saw that I was like woah...

    How does the Crayfish do with Flowerhorn?

    • @myaquariuminfo
      @myaquariuminfo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not good. Crayfish will get eaten. Can survive (possibly) with 100 coverage at the bottom ( only spaces to crawl through and hide) but that's no life for a pet..

      a lot of it has to do with it's genetics, however; its diet plays a big role too. i recommend live foods. i will be posting flowerhorn advice, stop by and chek it out soon!Sorry for the late reply as i have been on vacation, but i hope this helps! -Gus

    Flower horn fish notice every thang if u don't pay it no mind in give it wat u think is right I would eat it too but pellets are best for them I just search the feeder fish can cuz them not to progress it right which is kinder sad it also say u have to mix up food to help push that goldfish down in its stomach pellets ppl no arguemeant here just a lot of stuff to do to feed one fish

      I don't trust online blogs. Too much made up stuff. I only rely on factual Info from reliable sources. I recommend "the aquarium encyclopedia" by Gina Sandford .
      Because a dry food only diet is really bad for fish.
      And the organs of fish don't need "help" digesting fish?... that's what they've eaten for millions of years.

      Earlier videos he was in a 10 as a juvenile, In this video he's in a 20 and by the next video he'll be in a 40 and when he gets 8 inches help end up in a 75.

      Depends on what size, full grown I'd recommend 75 gallons but you can get away with a 50 gallon

  • @FosteroHD
    @FosteroHD 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I mean some of what you said just isn't true, flowerhorns don't 'need' live food to be successful nor do they 'need' a 75gal to be happy. Yes in a perfect world everyone could have 75 gal tanks and feed live food everyday but that's just not reality. A flowerhorn will be fine in a 55gal and can live a full happy life eating a variety of pellet foods.

    • @myaquariuminfo
      @myaquariuminfo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Adam Reuben
      The ammonia produced by the diet of the Flowerhorn calls for as much dilution as possible. This is why ba 75 would work far better than a 50.
      You absolutely do need live food in order to successfully keep the Flowerhorn. The Flowerhorn has a short digestive system in order to process high fat and protein meals. The fish bred for the Flowerhorn have been eating live fish and other creatures for thousands of years.... keeping this fish in an aquarium doesn't mean you can all off a sudden feed it only dry food. Any experienced aquarist will tell you that a dry food only diet is bad for your fish, so I don't know where you're getting your information, but I highly suggest NOT using your opinion or fish forums and stick to writings by professionals and experts.

    Some have too huge of a KOK lol.. lord I can't even talk about it. Why the hell did whoever name it a KOK? how about head bump or hump or fish afro? I like them but not when its so big it looks like a 70s afro. They are cool though I never heard of these till like 4 months ago.

      That sentence doesn't make sense...but it's because you're supposed to keep feeder fish healthy for a month before feeding.
