There was this wedding story in my country. One couple had their wedding reception in a place that had no space to put kids because of the architecture and the cristal decorations everywhere, so it was a child free party. The SIL (groom' sister) never liked the bride and for some reason she decided it that the decision of a child free wedding was a power move from the bride against the groom's family (but particulary to SIL) and not a real concern for safety, so she brough her very young son with her to the reception and allow him to go wild around the mirrors and cristal decorations in thd building without keeping an eye on him, even after several people from the party place told her there was no room for kids anywhere and it could be dangerous for the kid. I'm only going to describe what happened later as a tragedy. And after all was said and done the SIL tried to pin what happened to the bride "and her power moves" but obviously the police told her it was her fault. The worst part was that several family members of the groom knew that a child there was a bad idea but "they didn't wanted people to think they were rude to family if the story got leaked" so they pressured the couple to let the kid stay "for the family", and addmited later they shouldn't have done that. Sometimes, people it's just stupid.
95% of these stories no one ever calls the cops or CPS. They would rather put up with all of the abuse and CPS is apparently to much trouble to call. Same old, same every sorry.
Call the police and CPS!!
