hi mate ive just got a 1.6 hdi picasso cheap, and i lifted the oil filler cap and its thick with crap, its clearly had no services but im also thinking maybe a blocked breather would make it worse, is that possible and would this pcv part or the pipe between the air intake maybe be blocked? causing it, thank you
I have a 2009 focus mk2 facelift and found oil around the turbo and the 4th fuel injector. had the injectors done thinking that was the issue as more oil was around that area. wasn't a pretty penny!!! i later noticed oil in same places you described at the beginning of the video... turns out it was just the PCV valve that was causing all of these issues!!! wish i saw your video before hand... Many Thanks 😉👍
Dear Sir, the entire repair kit is purchased, not just the membrane. The set includes a membrane, a spring and a cover, which you broke. The cover has a long notch on it and it is placed according to that notch. You installed it incorrectly and it should be installed like the old one (watch the beginning of the video while the cover has not been removed yet and it will be clear to you). I ask the viewers to pay attention to the placement of the cover so as not to put it wrong. Greeting.
Forget worrying about getting engine warmer through running it up to temp, heat the pcv “cap” slightly with a hot air gun if you are worried about breakages through cold temperature brittleness 👍
Like the zip tie method. I've been replacing loads of rubber seals / gaskets on my 1.6 TDCI after a head rebuild. Starting to run smooth. Will do this next.
We're just about to junk a 150,000 km Peugot 308 that's had a new turbo installed as there's oil all over the place in the engine bay. Local amateur mechanic thinks it's unsavable, annoying as i thought i'd solved the issue by refitting the air/turbo joint that was split. From what I'm seeing here, it may still be a minor part that needs doing to avoid oil being sent all over the place. The car is also lacking power, can all this be just that oil vent?
Yes also check you rocker cover gasket , and fuel injector seals . Also where the turbo / air pipe fits into the rocker cover , that’s on a clip with a seal. All replaceable for 10-30£
If oil has passed through the turbo like mines its can cause the center pin to overheat and bend slightly best to get the turbo checked it can cause run away
If you're still struggling with the loss of power - try to clean the mass air flow sensor with some cleaner spray. If the oil gets from rocker cover gasket into the intake, together with the burned particles from diesel it turns into a sticky grease and can clog up that sensor. I've been struggling with this on y Volvo V50 where I could not run uphill on 2nd gear sometimes, checked everything (turbo maintenance, injectors maintenance and seals replacement, removing DPF etc.) until cleaned the MAF sensor and now engine runs perfect! The idea is that the sensor can run properly and won't show any errors, but because it' s dirty the computer won't know how much air we have on the intake so it won't give enough diesel to push the power. Couple bucks for the cleaning spray fixed the issue :)
Will have to give this a go. There is so much oil going into the turbo intake that its spraying everywhere, All over the battery etc. Tried swapping the turbo and that didnt fix it, that plastic air intake is always full of oil.
@@boblyswegar8351 this seemed to work for a very short period of time, not sure if it was just a cheap pcv valve which broke quickly, but I'm back to the same old issue. I have since put in a new turbocharger which might have gotten damaged due to a distorted/clogged oil return hose on the turbo. Oil is leaking from the wast gate again and still coming out of the breather. I bought an oil catch can, but it will be difficult to fit with the layout. Not sure what to tell you.
Yo buddy great work. I’m having issues replacing the intercooler pipe where the Temperature & Pressure sensors fits in. Do you know a part number for that? Many thanks
Hi! I bought a Volvo 1.6hdi 80kW three weeks ago. A couple of days ago it started leaking oil from every engine seal (cam, injector, crankshaft etc.) and there is substantial pools of oil on top of the engine where injectors sit. Based on the massive oil leakage I suspect clogged PCV system (the membrane is ok). What do u think? Have any suggestions? The mechanics have told me the engine is blown.... :(

oil coming through to the turbo will cause runaway and blow the engine. My turbo center pin was slightly warped due to all passing which cause it to overheat oil should not pass through the turbo from the pcv

Streching the spring you make difficult for intake vaccum to close the membrane and stop the oil on high rpm.
Working fine since install , didn’t stretch it much if anything ,

PCV membrane replacement and would get the turbo checked this can cause runaway as the oil can ignite and burn out

not tight but not slack either, its there to regulate engine pressure so has to be able to move

Filtro de partículas,, puede ser que lo tengas vacío?? por qué no debería salir humo negro
Can be the catalytic converter or dpf getting clogged, or EGR issue.
These can be cleaned.
Air filter or fuel injector problem
I had a similar issue on 1.6 hdi. There are fuel additives you can buy. First I started with a total engine clean one, then used dpf filter cleaner
