I did really like the book. However, I thought the last third and the ending was a bit slow and disappointing. The concept was genius just lost punch at the end

Sounds intriguing, I used to read a lot of sci-fi. I wonder how long my piece of string would be.

I used to read more science fiction too. I'm really looking forward to reading more of the genre again this year. Exactly! When you read a book like this, you can't help but consider those sorts of philosophical questions ☺

Sounds interesting, what would you do conundrum. Not knowing is the beauty of life, the alchemist story ..when he tells him if you didn't travel and see , then you would not know the value of what you have right here. It's so important but difficult to live in a moment..I think I should get the measure.

You're absolutely right, it definitely plays on the 'what would you do' question. I hope you enjoy it! Do let me know your thoughts if you decide to read it ☺

The thing that ruined the book for me was that the way a few of the characters’ stories ended, because of the length of the strings, their stories couldn’t have ended any other way. Hence, they had no free will. Essentially, once it was established in the story that these stringers were 100% real, all aspects of free will were gone and nothing the characters did mattered.
