- Here it is! The last of my ME Speedrun videos, It was a long road, but one well worth it. Oh... I promised myself I wouldn't cry...
P.S. As of the publication of this video, my time of 5:32:11 is second on the leaderboards for the 360 (yay!)
P.P.S. I decided to try and make use of TH-cam's new widescreen format. I hope it works out well.
I like these videos. They show you how to do the levels fast, but at the same time they don't use crazy impossible routes... they're actually doable. Thank you.

Awesome! So graceful and fluid. Nice. There is a shorter way to go at 3:11, if you go left you can hop on the fence up to the platform with the balance beam (not using it of course) but in this way you can skip your next 2 wall runs
I love how after all that smooth jumping around it takes a second to focus on and push an elevator button.
I bought this game the day it came out,i had it for a while... then sold it later. that was my first game i ever had for the 360. Now, 2 years later, I miss the HELL out of it. I remember the soundtrack most of all.. for example, the ATRIUM LEVEL had the most darkest and powerful music i've ever heard in a video game. that's why I love this game soo much. This game is more unique then any other game i've played before... i'd spend hours playing this, it took me away from reality..euphoric like.

This game has so much potential. Mirror's Edge 2 with the Frostbite 2.0 engine will be phenomenal.
here's what I think the developers were going for with the rats: The city SEEMS all clean and happy and nice, but a closer inspection reveals that it's all a facade, the beauty is only skin deep. (e.g. the people all seem happy, but they live oppressed, controlled lives)
My personal record on this run is 05:18:76, done on my PS3! Good run, thx for guide! ;)
@coolimacs It's a TOUGH jump. When I did it, on the PC, my key sequence was: Wall Run, Reverse, Jump, DO NOT roll on the landing. This guy used a slightly harder sequence: Wall run, jump away at an angle.
I just found out that if you jump off the building and die at 1:33, you actually respawn below the pole, saving maybe a second or two. I accidentally fell at that part and was going to restart, but then realized where I was. XD Hope that helps to anyone who can't quite shave off a couple seconds. =D

@gabbylovejakob Nopes. DICE said it is definitely still in their plans. Right now they are working on post-launch support for BF3 though. Later on they will likely split the team and have one team making Mirror's Edge 2 while the other team works on BF4.
Sound of the 'bad runner's' feet still makes me tense!

for the majority of mine, it would be 640x480, 2.1 Mbps and 4:3. for THIS one however, I used the widescreen format, which had it end up as 856x480, 2.1 Mbps and 16:9

There's a big short cut you haven't used: at 4:41 drop down in direction north-west. You'll die but will respawn down. It's much faster than going through the balancing session. Even though you did brilliantly and I didn't, me using that trick you were only 10 seconds faster than me. :)
interesting theory, but that's an extremely hardy rat if it's the same one that gets shot by snipers in the sewers and zapped by an electric fence in one of the earlier chapters...

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first played through Mirror's Edge. Half Life is still the best game ever made in my opinion.
I like it when the Pursuit Cops chase you. You keep hearing their footsteps right behind you, and it feels as they they would attack you any time. Yet another nice run. =)

I've finished the game more than 5 times in each difficulty level,done half the speedruns,some of the other stages(the DLC ones) and have it around 60-65% on the trophies...but I don't know about the difficulty in speedruns...all I know is that it isn't on hard because the objects you need to climb,jump,etc are red and that doesn't happen on hard...
err... yes, yes I did. I added it about an hour before this one so it may not have been indexed for searches yet
The way I record, it automatically adds letterboxing (e.g. the black bars on top and bottom) to some games. If I hadn't converted to widescreen, youtube would have added Pillarboxing (bars on the right and left) which leaves you with windowboxing (bars all around the video) which is what is present on most of my earlier videos. Windowboxing tends to detract from the viewing experience, and looks like complete shit IMO.

It's because punching buttons is cool. Pushing them with a finger is just weak.

Lol at 4:46 I kept going on the beam untill the little platform. From there, jumped down straight to the sniper. I somehow died : /

I heard somewhere tht EA claims the game can be beater under one hour. Still, I don't need rumors to tell you that you can lose alot of minutes on this run.

boy, thanks for telling me tha- oh wait, it appears you didn't read what I said at all, how silly. I said that youtube adds the pillarboxing to my videos when they are 4:3 (it does, that's not something that you can argue. period.) and that my videos THEMSELVES have the letterboxing (look at any of the videos I posted before this). As for the videos being stretched, I'm fully aware, but I'll still take that (which bothers me not at all) to windowboxing, which bugs the hell out of me.

I wouldn't recommend it. I'm on the 8th chapter now and find it boring boring. It was good up to chapter 3, but then it's just the same thing over and over. But I am just going to complete it as quick as I can and stop playing :)
you should've popped the free runners...well, that's what i did when i was playing it but this is a speedrun so i guess that would take too much time. So satisfying though! POP POP BITCH!

If you feel like giving me the money for *good* video editing software, then I will gladly start removing the letterboxing from my videos. (and no, I don't use free alternatives, I've yet to find one that can handle encoding in a high enough bitrate for my tastes)

Yeah. I didn't know you could look in a direction and then jump off walls like that either. You never learn this during the introduction either. I wish EA/DICE added more moves to the intro. You need them later in the game anyways.

i could beat u but ur the only one who used that glass jump on the last part when u going down those stairs, but u keep in mind never use the stairs. As soon as u jump to first glass thing and jump down to platform there is a lil grey wall right there, jump it, then u will land on the next glass (remember to roll) then just drop and hope CPF won't kill u lol

Actually, no. They are cops specially trained to kill Runners by being just as quick and nimble as the Runners themselves.

This HAS to be on Easy...Otherwise,you would have been dead...You can't get past the black guards (I always forget what they are called) like this even on Normal.
