      Hi Mike, hardly a master builder, but thank you for the very nice compliment...I'll take it :-) Yes..time and patience are the key to a good build with these kits.

    I've just recently discovered (and become somewhat obsessed with) the world of RC tanks and have watched countless unboxings, builds and weathering/detailing, most I find something of interest and some I find annoying, I say all that to say this, I genuinely enjoy your honest build videos, yes, there's a great deal of detail involved but you just take your time and tackle it as it comes, watching your videos has kind of the same feel as when I was a teen and hung out with friends as they built or worked on motors in their garages, most of what they did was over my head but there was a comraderie, kind of the same here, thanks for allowing us to join in

      Hi Jeff, that is an amazing comment and very much appreciated. I am so glad that my videos are achieving what I set out to do...I am trying to show that any one with some basic knowledge and tools can build one of these incredible kits. I hope you continue to watch and follow this build and look forward to hearing from you again. Best regards...Tony

    Hi Tony, I did the track in exactly the same way.
    Certainly, the idea of changing the pin from 1.5 to 1.0 makes it much easier to pass through, bend, and cut.
    By the way, on my Tiger 1 I applied dry grease to the track pins.
    Have a nice weekend!
    良い週末を!

      Hi Woody and thank you for watching and commenting. I agree, as my brother had issues on his farm for the same reason. I think the loading on these models however are nowhere as great as the full sized tanks...Time will tell, but Armortek do recommend to run these with no slack. So far so good. Hope you continue following my channel. Have a great rest of the weekend.

    Hi Tony, great work ,watch these with great interest and look forward to the next. i do have to say that Armortek to annoy me looking at the kits. these are not cheap kits and the detail at times is top notch but other times its really lacking and the quality of parts. the tracks on the tiger was lacking hollow drive horns and the horns on this track are the same. some might say its a strength issue,possibly with the pershing style BUT the tiger defo not.

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gary, thank you. This kit is incredible, but there are also some other issues with it...Teething problems in production possibly, but nothing that cannot be overcome. Agreed on the tracks.

    🙋‍♂️ Hi Tony… Thanks ….another brilliant and informative video… those split pins are so sharp after they have been snipped off and I ended up with some serious deep scratches in my thumbs ..
    Somewhere down the line it was decided the split pins should be on the OUTSIDE edge of the tracks but in my own personal opinion the tracks look far better with the round heads of the track pins on the OUTSIDE FACE 🤷‍♂️….May end up voting on this …..
    It has been an agonising wait for the options packs, but I eventually picked mine up yesterday ( minus module A)
    5 am now, so going back to sleep 🙋‍♂️

      Hi Brian, great to hear from you...what are you doing up at 5.00am, still building?..LOL....I understand they are now shipping the packs...I will order my Motion and lighting pack next week before they shut down for the summer...I found that changing the cotter pins to a 1mm gauge, stopped that problem, as I could easily bend into position...I did the first 10 links with the 1.5mm gauge and gave up as they were a nightmare...not sure why they changed this...Hope you had a good lay in this morning and look forward to speaking with you and the other guys next week....

    I expect you’ve answered this before but I wonder why you don’t use a torque screwdriver. Also when fitting the wheels instead of backing off the retaining screw I would carefully give the wheel a sharp tap using something across the flange to protect the surfaces. Just wish I could run to one of these fantastic kits and can only look on with envy.

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Steve, thanks for watching and commenting. The simple answer is, I like to have that judgement by hand. I do hope you manage to get one of these as they are such a great therapeutic build. Hope you continue to watch and follow.

      @@tonys_workshop Tony, I think I mentioned to you how I solved the wheel problem binding when tightening down the screw, but will say it here for any others who may have this issue. First, I found that rearranging different wheels on different axles solved many of the problems, but for the ones that still were tight, I solved it by simply putting a small thin star lock-washer maybe 1/2 mil thick on the screw first so it butts up against the inner part of the bearing. Works perfectly. Now I can tighten the screw down. It must be a very small diameter washer. I happened to find a couple in my parts drawer. If it is too large, it will still cause a problem because it will rub against the outer part of the bearing and yield the same problem. Will talk next week.

    Hi Tony, as always great to see another update, just wondering, given the choice would you rather have built this one first and then the Tiger, or do you feell the Tiger was a good baptism of fire giving you the skills to tackle virtually anything? Just curious really.

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, and thanks for watching and commenting....no they do not...unlike the real tank tracks, the steel pins when used often loosen within the aluminium tracks....so no problems with binding and I tend to use my air hose on the tracks once finished driving and this gets rid of any build up of dust and debris...hope this answers your question.
