My family owns the Hyundai Tucson now after selling the GLC220d. We initially thought about replacing it with another German, but the sudden price increase put us off. We bought the GLC at around 60L in 2017, but costs almost 1 crore now. Made zero sense to spend that much money on a car.
Sold our GLC for around 41L, added in 2 lakhs and bought a Tucson. Best decision ever made.
Also, in 8:26 he says that Tucson is made from K2 platform which produces mass market cars, but it's actually built from N3 platform which shares with Kia Carnival, Sonata, etc.

ScorpioN doesn't have ADAS - and Australia NCAP awards 'Zero' ratings if a car doesn't have ADAS. So doesn't matter how safe any car is but it would always score zero in Australian NCAP if they don't have ADAS.

Is there any genuine reason as to why we have such ridiculous import taxes on vehicles?
Of-course apart from the fact that it helps Indian car manufacturers to provide lower quality products with no competition to Indian customers.
Imagine getting these D-segment cars for the same price as the XUV700 and Safari. It would give buyers more options and push companies like Mahindra and Tata to improve their quality and engineering.
Plus, it would make India more attractive for foreign car companies, encouraging them to bring their latest models instead of dumping outdated ones at a premium.

@@trijit96 That's actually a great point, I didn't consider the fact that the manufacturing plant and its employees will be paying taxes.
Still, the taxes are quite high when compared to other countries, for example USA only has 2.5% automotive tariff even china only has 25%, now compare that with India's 100% not including other duties and taxes before you can drive a car on road. I just don't think this is justified.

Ironically, Skoda is planning to bring in the Superb diesel as a CBU sometime next year. That would make the on-road price upwards of 60L, which is German Luxury car territory. People would get the GLA 220d instead of the Superb.
I honestly believe that European and American car manufacturers are either delusional or outright stupid. VWAG killing of their diesels is a shot in their leg. Ford pulling the plug abruptly doesn't give confidence either.

I have been watching your videos since almost a year now and try not to miss any of them. I have to say that the quality of the content with respect to content, information, awareness, common sense, global know-how, simplicity, presentation, is top notch. People should take note of such content, give it some of their time, and see what's wrong and what's right when it comes to buying decisions, driving behavior, understanding government policies, analyzing automobile industry dynamics, etc.
Keep doing the good work people, you guys are great at it. Would definitely like to connect with the host and exchange a few talks about the industry.

Jeep struggling in India is not because of their engines or powertrain, it's way beyond that and they've to address those issues if they don't want to remain a niche market here.

I mean it's the best time to buy it now before it gets discontinued & if the next gen kodiaq is launched then the price would itself start from 60-65L with the same engine. Best example is superb itself, look at the price after relaunch, it's insane!! that too without any update!! Right now i believe if a person has 50l, then he should definetly buy kodiaq with eyes closed. The quality, perfomance, looks , safety , sheer driving pleasure , features & build is way superior than some overhyped cars and at par with some premium German brands (Audi , Merc & BMW). The power figures might seem less but trust me , it has beat xuv700 & some other powerful cars with higher power figures😮‍💨
