I rode across the country twice on my Yamaha V-Star 250. I’m 6’2”, and I still ended up putting almost 18,000 miles on it in the during the year I had it. Everyone told me I needed a bigger motorcycle, so I bought a Honda Shadow 600. I’ve had the Honda for two years now. I’ve been to Mexico and Alaska, and every one is still telling me that I need a bigger motorcycle. 😂 I still kinda miss the little 250.

i worked with a gentelman named Art whom was 7 ft 2" tall. he rode a Yamaha Wartior and he looke like an elephan screwin a kids tricycle. he had over 20k on it . he just couldn't git in any car or truck. not even our work trucks. many times he rode the bike to jobsites. that 1900 cc bike worked to carry him around but it did well. i started on a 250 rebel. im only 5'10" and still hated it. since then ive collected 3 800 cc metrics , a 900 bmw and a 2002 Duece with an 88 . the 800 metrics will do almost anything the big twins do and some of it better.

I owned a Victory Crosscountry and loved it. Then Polaris came out and stopped making the Victory. I heard the news, freaked out and sold the bike. I wish I had it now. It fit me so well and on the top end speed was so nice. Oh well! I also owned a 1800 Goldwing. I would love to try the DCT, but probably would want the 6 speed. Another bike that was on my radar was the Triumph Bonneville. You have good taste in bikes!

I bought a used motorcycle, 2002 with 78 000 km, that uses the metric system. In my free time, I enjoy fixing motorcycle engines using my dad's garage and tools. Despite my background as a software analyst, I have 8 years of experience in heavy mechanics and aircraft training, which allows me to work on engines. While working on my current motorcycle, I encountered an issue with the shifter and the piston, which remained cold. I plan on fixing this issue by cleaning the carburetor and clutch this summer. Although I have never taken apart an entire engine, I work by step and I believe that I will learn much more for my next project, which will probably be a new Goldwing.

Son has done FL to WA, and ME to southern CA on his vstar 250. He had a lightweight tent, bag with 3 sets of clothing, water filtration, small gas stove, etc light weight stuff. Most stuff he back packed with in canada, here in usa, and around europe with.
Last year, his friend bought his first motorcycle, a 2022 honda rebel, an 1100, which he says has been comfortable to ride. He used a '73 TX750 haha, they had a hoot going from north carolina to socal to visit other former Marines. Their friends were following casually in vans. Haha, now I am going to go on CL and look for a used say, Honda rebel 250, never had one of those! I am pretty big too. 6ft. 245 pounds muscled so I aint exactly light hahaha. Victory profits funded Indian success. and when indian finally took off, they were their own competition. They are different teams and were made in different places. But go google conquest customs for a shop down by you. The new Indian Challenger/Pursuit used in the king of the baggers was a victory engine that had extensive testing and tuning up here in colorado at altitude. When victory first came out there wasnt any aftermarket support. but there are several companies producing cam sets/big bore kits/and tuners. The vic shop in Iowa is a guru on the things as is CC in Florida.

Victory was "voted off the island" by buyers and the recession finished them off. Their success was initially during the great Harley famine which also begat many clone choppers using aftermarket engines. Victory wasn't profitable towards the end so it got the axe. The styling was a choice between "fad boomerchopper" and weird (touring). Polaris wisely didn't make those styling mistakes again and bought the Indian name after a succession of incompetents went nowhere with it.

I don't want the police to pay any attention to me. I'm not even doing anything wrong, and I don't want to deal with them. As for people can hear you better, that's debatable, and I'd rather have my hearing in my old age.

I'm not even into the brand at all, I just took my buddy to go buy his retirement RoadGlide so I was like can I ride this, that, this and every single one they said hell yeah you can.
I'm a fan of anything other than stock, my M109r with Vance and Hines slip-ons is the perfect loudness at 3500RPM and up to be noticed but I ride pretty defensively anyway. Much better than the shadow 1100 with shortened Cobra drags LOL.

Still amazed that the whole American motorcycle brand is based off people sticking cheap ditch pump motors in bicycle frames. I like the fact my Dyna is rough around the edges. All the fun of a classic motorcycle with none of the classic maintenance headaches. But the thing that makes the Harley trademark - the sound of archaic technology - is something most people aren't looking for these days.
YT censored 'sissy bar' in the subtitles, lol. Wrong kind of sissy bar.
I love the Goldwing. I'm waiting until I'm 60 so I can legally buy one. I love the stripped down version they made a few years ago that was similar to the police Goldwing. It was literally a factory sleeper that would hand the latest CVO Softie its ass.

I bought my 2022 T120 at my local harley dealer lol. 2400 miles and got it for 9k instead of the 13K they were at the time. My buddy is a sales person there and called me and said "if you want it Ill sign the paper work for you. Just come pick it up."

I did the exact opposite in the late 70's. Bought a customized Sportster (almost a chopper,) at a local Honda shop. They had no idea and their customers didn't like extended forks and pullback bars. I got it way cheaper than I would have paid at Harley.

Victory are perfect for those who tinker. The Freedom twins are easy to mod and respond well to easy mods. Cams are easy. Lloyd's has some very good parts.

St. Paul HD in Minnesota has a decent section of used import trade-ins. They never used to have them on the floor. But I wanna say over the last 5 years or so they have. And I've seen some really good deals on imports there as well.

Scramblers for sale near me... 2019 21k miles $7499, 2018 26k $8250, 2019 2k $11,900. Personally I love the old ones, it's what I grew up with and with the T120C that's sitting in the garage, I can promise you you've never heard a brit bike that sounds as amazing as that thing. It was set up for flat track racing and is seriously built.. unfortunately I can't afford to replace the carbs to get it running again and my back hates me every time I jump on it to kick it over.
