There is no doubt that white privilege did exist in the past. There is no doubt that racism exists now. There is also no doubt that the collapse of the black nuclear family is also to blame. I was born well after slavery ended. I was born after the civil rights laws. I was never provided anything in my life for being white. I worked for everything I have. I paid for my own college. I was not given preferential treatment for my color. I got my grades on my own. I got my job on my own. I advanced on my own, in spite of the laws working against me. This reparations talk is just insane. 5 generations of my family have now lived in this country after slavery ended. None of us were here during slavery, not that it should matter. At this point in time, people of all races in this country have a variety of income and wealth levels. Some minorities are wealthy, some white people are dirt poor. So, focus on helping the poor, regardless of race. If certain minority groups are disproportionately poor, those groups will naturally receive more assistance if we focus on helping the poor. There is no need to focus on race. Reparations would be an example of ACTUAL systemic racism at this point, which the Democrats claim to be against.

Out of fairness, we would have to follow their history back, and find out the details of their ancestors. First of all do not insult the intelligence or refer to Dr. Dyson has a poison in a college system rather I would suggest the contrary. White privilege is not only monetary, its about preferential treatment in society, its about having significantly more opportunities which stems from the original sin of America. I do understand it's something very difficult to understand if you are white and living in a white world because your comparisons are with other white people. Blacks feel as if they need to work twice as hard to live up to white standards. Example being Trump and Obama. Obama could have never done half the things Trump did and get away with it, thats called white privilege my friends, even despite the fact Obama is twice as qualified, educated and more professional. You may disagree with the policies of Obama but you cannot deny the great professional standard and respect he upheld for America globally. For many white Americans, Trump is the heart of what they truly feel because many of his Republicans shared most of his policies yet they choose racist bigot con artist lying man as their leader. Its hypocritical.

Exactly...and it's harder for an ivy league black person than someone who just got out of prison to get a job?? What kind of jobs are we talking about. Sure maybe if the jobs at 7-11 and the job that the ivy league persons going for is a position as an Amazon executive. But I'm sure 7-11 would gladly hire the ivy league person over the one getting out of prison.

I did open an reparations account and then checked family tree and history. I realized my family never owned slaves. They worked in places like coal mines and as subsistence farmers until moving other places chasing a better life. At that point, I took the money in my reparations account and bought a travel trailer and a truck to pull it. My family and I have been going on guilt free camping trips ever since...lol
