Bro let it be known, Onagai is one of the most wholesome top level players in the FGC. Last night I was on the alpha 2 channel and he challenged me out of nowhere, knowing we played 3s before I assume. After a few matches of him destroying me he was like let's work on a few things and take you to the next level. Spent the next hour and a half practicing alpha counters with me and teaching me how to do Ken's custom combo optimally. And he was getting hyped when I was actually landing the stuff and learning it after many tries. What a guy, for real man. Amazing player and person

Max's attitude toward losing is probably his greatest asset. He learns from his opponent's success very quickly because he does not let anger effect his play-style. He doesn't rage quit against skilled opponents- instead he continues experimenting with their offense until he finds their weaknesses. These are the traits of a gaming veteran.

Onagai literally unlocked Max's hidden potential during those matches. I never seen Max power up over a set like that before. It was awesome to see! Hopefully, we will get to see more in the future.
I'm happy to tell you that max will be playing this again later this month with the release of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary as it contains 3rd Strike with online play!

I played against this guy last night. His Hugo is still fuckin on point. Still able to pull off his super like it's nothing. Everyone in the lobby was giving it their all to beat him. And out of like 23 fights, he lost twice. Dudes fuckin rad.

Right now I’m in the hospital holding my 22 hour old sleeping baby, trying not to wake her or my sleeping wife, and then I come across this video in my feed, which started playing the preview, silently, with captions that are slightly off (Perry instead of parry, etc.) and I’m almost crying from trying to stifle my laughter. As someone who played a LOT of 3rd Strike back in the day, I totally appreciate thoughts like “He’s a fucking robot.” And thinking someone must be the best player in the world of whatever non top tier character they happen to be playing. Man, what a great game.

i have a story similar to this, one time at my local mall, we have an arcade there called "Round 1" there was this one disabled guy, he literally had no legs or arms, i felt bad for him but thats besides the point, he bodied EVERYONE that challenged him in 3rd strike using Alex, it was fucking insane, like every person who challenged him tried their hardest but he would just destroy them. it was nuts. i challenged him and I never stood a chance

Hugo has the most jump starting frames in the game, so his jumps take so long to leave the ground that if you spin fast enough you get a 360° easily, the trick on the 720° is doing a Super jump that has even longer jump starting frames, it takes so long than spinning fast enough you get the motion on time before he leaves the ground.
I love coming back to these classics. 3rd strike holds a special place in my heart. I hope we can get a game just as hype, just as intricate and just as stylish again someday. Love watching you Max!!
