I went to a private school and I remember a parent pulling up in this at the end of term and the amount of attention it got was mesmerising. So many more expensive cars in the car park yet everyone wanted a piece of the I8. A parent even got out his rolls Royce to take a photo of it how crazy is that 🤣I remember the experience so well it was like looking at a concept of the future and still to this day looks out of this world.

I like the fact that the BMW i8 looks like a sports car & it's NORMAL Luxury to drive around for business throughout the day. The hybrid turbocharged 4 cylinder engine sound's amazing. Safe & easy driving car, both of my sons & I would feel confident enough to drive around Toronto in. I like it. Enjoyed this video. Very informative.😊👍🏼❤️

I absolutely adored the i8, then someonw told me that it looks like it's giving birth to a Porsche 911 from the rear... Now i can't unsee it.

Fab looking car, but you could never park in a supermarket car park, because when you returned you would inevitably have a car parked next to you and you would never be able to open the door. Apart from that, £40,000 would be £36,000 over budget for me, and it would be very difficult to store my zimmer anywhere. LOL Great vids though, I love dreaming of what might have been.

Definitely a car you buy with your heart and not your head I looked at one yesterday great looking car but doing some research unless it has warranty stay away 8 years on the battery that’s why their 38k with 87000 miles on the clock , and parts will still be the price as if this was still a 100k car , think my best bet is boxster/cayman 718

I think we would be happier if BMW actually made something that looks like this instead of the hideous thing they made for the 50th anniversary of their M performance brand. Just put the 4.4 TT V8 from the M5 at the back of this and you have a winner.

One of BMW's finest moments, when they were ambitious and dynamic with their future vision.....then thay lost the plot and regressed back to the same old boring Russian Doll strategy of churning out looky likey bland incarnations of the previous model with little more to offer than a more ridiculous grille. such a shame that they have gone , and are continuing to go, downhill ever since.
Obviously, immediately after watched this video I was straight onto Autotrader to peruse. At the time of writing this comment a lovely black 15 plate with 55k miles is on offer for an amazing £30,995, probably a straight £30k for cash...... a very tempting proposition!

This car is my favorite I HAVE EVER OWNED! Audi/AMG/Tesla my previous cars dont compare. traded in my 2019 Tesla S performance for it. Mine is also 2016. has the plug in functionality of the tesla for most my in town driving. However I can also just gas up and go where as my tesla I was constantly charging up on trips. 10 gallons gets me 350miles range or more on trips as well. Has been my daily driver for the last 45k miles... Wouldn't trade it for anything really. I have other cars but I find that im using this the most period. unplug it hop in and go. Also on paper the S performance is faster. However in real world once my tesla was under 40% battery there was a serious decline in its pep especially 0-60. I have seen 3.8 second 0-60 in the i8 so it certainly isnt slow. it also handles worlds better than the S ever dreamed about on top of being much nicer inside. I even am tempted to put "super Prius" badges on the back of it for fun

They were about £115k new specced up but used only £80k - that’s a massive drop in depreciation. If I hadn’t needed a car that can tow, I’d have bought a used one recently. Great review Matt. I almost bought an i3 as the range comfortably covers my regular commutes. Plus I could probably recharge every trip at home off solar. What stopped me was the cost of battery replacements, which I understand on the i3, is every 5 to 10 years. Replacement battery where I live is the cost of a small house. Keep up the good work! All the best from sunny south africa.

The i3 has its appeal, but it's _incredibly_ much more uncomfortable, noisy, faaaar worse in handling and the driving experience, etc. etc. There's something fun about the i3 but the truth is that it's very flawed as well. I owned one, and when I sold it I leased a F20 118i for a few months while waiting for my new car and the difference between the i3 and 118i was hard to believe...the 118i felt like a Rolls-Royce compared to the i3 in comfort, and like a Ferrari compared to the i3 in sportiness and driving experience.

I've always hated the blue trim, I think that alone holds it back a ton. Other than that though, I think it's it's just not specialized enough.
