I also wish they were treated better up to their standard..in reality nothing can really fulfill how they should have been treated. I bow down to you Legends. It’s really sad that the most unique & beautiful musicians were taken for granted in Pakistan. I happen to attend Ustad Salamat Ali Khan’s funeral. I am sharing this fact with a heavy heart that apart from his family members and a very few of his students, except one or two I didn’t notice any popular faces from Pakistan showbiz or music industry.... He was the greatest musician I ever seen in my life.... words can’t explain such a great person and s great musician. Only few people know that his final resting place is near the graveyard of “Scheme More” main Multan Road, Lahore.

Khurram Bhai, I heard Ustad Salamat Ali Khan at our home in 1969 as a little kid and sat in front of him directly all night. He was singing with his brother Ustad Nazakat Ali Khan. accompanied by the Maestro Ustad Shaukat Hussain Khan. He was surprised/impressed at the fact that I had taken such interest and understood it. To say that he was simply amazing would be an understatement. I never looked back. I agree completely with your comment and it is indeed very sad how these legends have been treated. His son Shafqat Ali Khan is also very good.
