    Excuse me not knowing your language and using the Google translator, also to watch your videos I need a translator.
    Thank you very much for the video, it took weeks because I had bought the Taranis X9D with this receiver and I had a lot of problems, until thanks to your video I was able to configure the receiver. I have not flown with it yet, due to lack of confidence in the radio and the receiver.
    I am older and used to old radios, not to the open radio system, which still seems very complicated to me. Until I am sure I will not use the receiver or radio on an airplane. But I insist, thank you very much for your videos.

    Fantastic! I have watched several videos for this receiver setup and this by far is the absolute best one out there,
    Very concise with out going off subject for the Transmitter functions.
    However, making it very clear what the Receiver is doing in the calibration mode before and after flight.
    Great use of the "Standard" switches and controls for each optional switch location and its function.
    Once again Thank you for this information!
    It is great you took the time to record this so well in step by step functionality of the receiver!

    Great video! I bought a S6R more than a year ago and both of your videos will help me set it up. The other youtube videos on the S6R and S8R are either too old or don't explain clearly. Your videos are very detailed and easy to follow. Thanks.

    Good advice. I've the same Rx & plane (and use the Tx16S Max) and I struggled getting it set up. Even on the bench first. I found the updated Rx instructions that were still called V1, lol. Watchig a few other Painful videos didn't help. Watching this now confirms I've done it right. I'd now like to know how to link the landing lights to the flaps, whilst keeping the others on as they should be.

    Thanks and appreciation for your clear, step-by-step showing of how to do this. Could you comment on the new ACCESS protocol FrSky is pushing and why they doing this.

    • @shondorc3703
      @shondorc3703  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr Plaidboy There are many folks out there that have opinions concerning the new FrSky protocol. Some say the new protocol is in direct response to the new Jumper radio. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. I do know this, many manufacturers out there utilize the OpenTX technology and there are many of those radios that are of a much higher quality than Jumpers new T16 radio. So with that said, you have to ask a question. If the rumor is true that FrSky is panicking over the Jumper radio, then why haven’t the panicked is years gone by and in current times with other quality radios that utilize OpenTX and or multi modules? I do know that the new FrSky protocol has some very nice features that are worth looking into. As for them developing this new protocol, it is no different than any other tech company out there that develops new products to stay competitive and on top. If they stay complacent in an every growing tech explosion, then they will end up like other companies in the past that just stood still and eventually closed. FrSky with new protocols is no different than Futaba and others who have more than one as well. Trust me, I have seen the tear down of the jumper and have seen the low quality gimbals and other hardware that they use, and believe me, FrSky has got nothing to worry about. They are not scared, they are just making sure to stay a step ahead in this tech war just like any other well run company would do while at the same time addressing the ever growing demand in this hobby to provide the very best and safest technologies out there that gives us piece of mind every Saturday morning at the field.

    Great video For some reason when I try and calibrate and configure my rx (SR6) by using the LUA script my TX stops trasmitting and the RSSI drops below 10 preventing me from calibrating and configuring. All other times the signal is perfect over 100 RSSI. I have moved the tx and the rx away from each other and have even moved to different locations but to no avail Any idea why I may be losing signal at that stage?

    I inputs came standard in a different order. Mines in the order of aileron, elevator, throttle, rudder. I spent the last two days trying to figure out how to change these inputs or why my radio is automatically putting the inputs in this order.

    Awesome guide pal, loved how you immediately said to throw the paper away. Lol only question I have is, how do these act with glow, gas engines. Just getting back into the hobby after twenty year break and finding a Second hand horus x12s very cheap. Couldn't say no!! I've a ASP91FS on my shelf and have a balsa trainer on it's way to me. How will these gyro receivers work with the vibration of a Four Cycle Glow engine Will it feel the power pulses from the motor through the airframe??

  • @frank-vq4mx
    @frank-vq4mx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Found "MY" problem. It had nothing to do with the receivers or setup. "My" problem was with the Castle Creations e.s.c. setup. I do a "manual" setup of the e.s.c. First. Turn the radio and receiver on. Make sure your motor is not connected. Move throttle stick to maximum. Than in the throttle endpoints adjustments, reduce the maximum and minimum values to +25% and -25%. With the throttle stick still at maximum begin to increase the +25% value until to hear a couple of "tones" from the e.s.c. Than move the throttle stick to the "lowest" position. Begin to increase the -25% value until you hear the e.s.c. "arm" itself. The e.s.c. is ready to go. The problem is that these values are "TOO LOW FOR THE GYRO TO INITIATE SELF CHECK" Return these values to +100% and -100% and you'll be able to enter the "SELF CHECK" that is required to finish setting up the gyro.

    Great Video! Question, what is the process for assigning the Gyro HH mode or Self Leveling as some call it to the momentary switch?

    • @shondorc3703
      @shondorc3703  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Darth Flyer Your mode three position switch that you set up on channel 10 works as follows. Switch down is normal flight with no stabilization. This is a required position when flying the first time to get all trims set. After trims are set, you need to recalibrate the system. After you recalibrate then you can use the other mode settings. If you place channel 10 three position switch in the middle, this position gives you full control with stabilization. If you place that switch in the up position, this give full stabilization and also works to recover the aircraft as I have found. Channel 12 is the channel you assign a three position switch in order to be able to enter calibration mode. After you perform your second calibration after trimming on first flight, then change the switch on channel 12 to your momentary switch. It is said that then this becomes your help me now switch in an emergency. As for me personally, I just flick my mode switch up and it does the same thing. Let me know if the momentary works for you, it did not seem to work as advertised for me, which is why I just stick to the mode switch up routine to get me out of trouble.

    Fantastic Video it really helped me. If I want to have dual rates so I don't have so much throw unless I want it do I have to do the calibration for the lower rate I might use to fly with. I have a Visioneer and it has more throw than I will need at this point. So I was thinking about setting dual rates.

    • @shondorc3703
      @shondorc3703  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should have someone else fly and trim it out. It must be flown and trimmed first before activating your stabilization. Stability calibration will calibrate to your current control surface settings. If they are way out of trim then when you fly it and add corrections by trimming, the stabilization could work against you. That’s why they recommend to fly and trim it out for a comfortable flight first then bring it in and calibrate and activate.

    Interested in your take on the X10 radio Vs Taranis. If you had your time again, would you buy the Taranis, X10 or X10S. I am considering upgrading the Gimbals on my Taranis, but maybe thinking going X10 or X10S instead

    • @shondorc3703

      Blair Jones I would but Taranis and X10S again! Both are fantastic. I use the X10S primarily now and it is very nice and very powerful using OpenTX. Installing firmware is a bit different than installing on the Taranis. But I’m thinking of doing a video in the near future to help folks because there just isn’t a lot of detailed info out there on how to do it easily. Stay tuned!

    Okay I now have set it up per your instructions. Mode switch is off on down position and in full up position all flight surfaces “stabilize” but nothing happens on middle switch. Now I suspect it’s because my rotary S1 is all the way left and no gain is on, right? So please explain the difference between mid switch and full up. Also before I fly it the first time where do I leave the help me switch? The one we pulled up down to 3X.

    • @shondorc3703

      Russ Shanks Full position is actually the help mode. If you are out of control flip up and plane will right itself. Middle is flight stable while flying.

      I see where some people say on channel 9 to set weight at 50% and offset to 50 for it to work correctly. But in Monitor, your setup goes from 0 to 100% so I don’t get why one would do that???

    could you help i have the same s8r and i cannot get the 2 aliron to work on the receiver i plug it in what do on the transmitter to make it work so i can have two aliron channels because i want too get crow working but also have the gyro working when i need it

    • @shondorc3703
      @shondorc3703  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      gwizz fpv On that receiver channel 5 can be used for a second aileron channel. As for setting up the radio itself, go to the “MIXER” page in the aircraft settings. Scroll down to channel 5 and press enter to set up that channel. When you are in that channel scroll to “SOURCE”, press enter to make it blink. Once it is blinking, move your aileron stick and it will select aileron automatically. Now that channel has become your second aileron channel. Scroll to weight and make it your desired weight by setting the number to how much throw you would like. If you find that the aileron is moving in the wrong direction, you can reverse it from the servos page on your model settings by clicking on the last arrow in the channel line you wish to reverse to change direction. Newer versions of OpenTX have renamed the servos page to “OUTPUTS”. So if you can’t find servos page to reverse your channel, look for outputs.

    • @shondorc3703
      @shondorc3703  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      michael honeychuck When OpenTX rolls out updates, it’s usually for all radios that can run OpenTX. It is an OpenTX update. Just use companion to select your radio on the settings page then check for updates. BTW, the QX7 is an awesome radio! It essentially is the Taranis plus packed in a different case. Also, with OpenTX, it’s not mandatory to perform an update but it is recommended because in some cases it can fix bugs and enhance features. With the newest version I believe the bug fix includes fixing an issue with being able to select left slider for certain features that you choose to select.

      skyhero kokkie Make sure that you plugged your control surfaces into the proper spots in the receiver. The gyro is automatic on those surfaces. Aileron, elevator and rudder are all automatically controlled once the flight stabilization switch is activated. Also I did notice that the rudder moves very little compared to other surfaces. You have to look closely. Hold plane level with safe mode on and swing the tail rapidly left to right and watch closely the rudder. It should be lightly trying to correct your movements.
