- Kargil War 1999 (करगिल युद्ध): Watch the most reliable documentary on Kargill war. India and Pakistan fought this war in the Kargil of Kashmir. Pakistani army infiltrated into Indian territory along LoC. Indian army launched an operation 'Operation Vijay' to clear the Kargil sector.
Kargil War Facts: Indian army lost 527 jawans and 1363 jawans were injured in this war.
In Kargil war Indian army brutally defeated the Pakistani army and regain the Kargil region.
Kargil War Heroes and Memorial: July 26 has been marked as Kargil Vijay Diwas (Kargil Victory Day) in India to remember the martyred war heroes. Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, 18 Grenadiers, got Param Vir Chakra.

Hand to hand combat at freezing altitude impressed even Pakistani soldiers. One captured Pakistani soldier requested to Indian officer to see a Gorkhali soldier as his last wish.

At 18000 feet, where the thin air makes breathing difficult, they kept going till they had accomplished their dangerous mission of getting control of areas close to the border.
When bullets fell short, the team climbed to higher positions and rolled boulders on to the enemies.
