  • building the Tamiya 1/35 M151A2, converting it from airborne service to USMC service. This particular vehicle saw service with the USMC in Beirut, 1983.

    Great kit. The M151 was a great vehicle. I was a Motor T Mechanic from 1980-1993. They were very dependable work horses. Love how you researched the information on the time era.

    Nice work on that mutt, very impressive! Looks like a decent kit. There were a few different variants of that particular vehicle. When I was in my first duty station in Ansbach Germany from 85 to 88 we had these jeeps the whole time. We did get hummers around '87. Although, they still kept the mutts but got rid of the gamma goats. The jeeps we had, were equipped with hard tops. Would love to see a conversion kit for that.

    The tube coming out from under the hood is a snorkel. Used on USMC vehicles so they can ford deep water as when they are coming ashore from landing craft.

    The tools were added to the attachment points and painted in place

    Seats were OD green! Semper Fi
