- I finally got some time to do a little recon at The Muddy River with my good friend Dryw. We have been worried about the flathead population since the river was shut down several months earlier. It was a great day of exploring and spending time with an old friend.
I've been watching videos from this channel for years. And it still amazes me to this day that Chris is catchin big muddy flatheads out of a 2 man boat!!!
So glad to see you guys back on the muddy river catching big, healthy flatheads.
Mr Flores! So glad you were able to save the Muddy River! You should be very proud of yourself, you’ve saved a treasure! I’ve been watching your channel for years and was devastated to see what they were trying to do. So glad you had the cajones to fight back! Keep the videos coming, we’ll all be watching! 👍🏼🤟🏼💪🏽
You saved that river, if you catch anything be proud....BRO...
You are a Legend for catfishing.
Hell yeah, good oh Drew back on the scene with you.
Good video good to see you back out there
You make this look way too easy bro. 😂
***NEW SUB***Gonna have to try that ditch rig...it's a whole lot cheaper than Carolina, or Santee Cooper rig..nice job pulling in them big ugly"s!!!
7:32 for the best and about the only rig you need for flathead catfish
That muddy river is full of big flathead catfish. Awesome
We have muddy rivers in most of the rivers in South Carolina, and are full of catfish!
Awesome to see the Muddy river back in action. Great video like always Kris.
The muddy river is back!! I always love watching your videos!
Wow. What a treat it is to see you back on the Muddy River. Super video. One of the best! Question: On this trip, were you using braided line or monofilament? What pound test? Thanks in advance, Kris.
Chris Looked like a fun trip this time and still glad you got to keep the muddy river
I got into catfishing watching this channel a few years ago and have been a fan since! Keep the content coming and so thankful to see the muddy river back!
Great looking flathead y'all! Sure wish we could use carp in MN! I hit catch #32 and finally got a 40x24 for big fish so far. 🤙
Nice video, amigo! We have to get together for some fishing! This is Rosendo, by the way.
Is this the rio grande? I lived in el paso for 3 years and it was always bone dry lol
One day man I’m going fishing with you once I save up money to pay for the guide and flights. I’ll be there there.
Kris, I forgot how fun it is to watch you guys fish the muddy river. It's been a minute.
What a awesome place but it looks like it would be easy to get lost out there great fishing though
Classic Kris! Good to see you Mr. Flores
Thanks for the update and views 🇺🇲🇺🇦
Glad to see these videos again! Kris do you use mostly braid when out there fishing the muddy river?
Anybody know if this is the Rio grande would love to come fish it.
😂😂😂😂 I though everybody hawk tuah on thier knots
Just found your channel and subscribed! And man is that a cool spot
Catch and Release
That’s exactly why you’re still pulling Flattys out of your favorite muddy river sir. I’m a firm believer of
If you take care of the land, the land will take care of you. Looks like you and ol Dryw had another epic day of the water.
Also, unless you moved spots I’d say that was the same fish. The gash was in the same spot.
🙋♂️GOOD TO SEE YOU AND DREW BACK ON THE RIVER 🤗💚💚💚
❤
Is there Bass in there? What other species of fish?
The skeeters got me pretty good last time I was around there!🎯😅
Good to see Dryw back in action🎉
Glad to see u back in that muddy river
Do you guys catch blues are channel cats
Blues are definitely in there. Seen from older videos
Hey there Kris, thanks for all the great information in your videos. I'm in ABQ, but want to start fishing some lakes down south. I noticed in some of your videos you use live carp. Are there certain waters in New Mexico that allow live carp for bait? I thought it was only carp for cut bait?
Thanks again,
Chris
@@xtrabigc thank you for watching my videos! live carp are illegal to use for bait in New Mexico
I think those are cattails
Very nice video 👍👍👍
DANG MAN, AWSOME
Absolutely amazing thank you for sharing love catfish good Sir had a question what state are located in if I may ask... I miss fishing for good ol blues and flat heads back home..
I'm in New Mexico
Great hookset shot .. 💯
I’m going to find out where this is at lol 😂 you can’t stop me !!!! #challengeaccepted 😅
@@bibipeach6 🤣 at least in not the only one. I’m telling you. I been dying to find it. Or at least the same stretch river and I’ll find my own spots. I’ve obsessed over it lately. I been using Google earth and everything. Looking for Burnt spots. I have a few spots on the map to check out but I’m with you on that one lol 😂
Happy to see you back Kris, I thought you had ended the channel.
And what kind of boat is that I’m a fat boy I weigh 400lb I’m 6’4 and I can’t find a small boat that I feel safe in.
This one is from West Marine but it's the same boat as the Sun dolphin water tender. It's much more stable than my old v bottom. This one is a tri hull
how deep is that water?
The most legends of waterways and angler. That muddy water is what catfish anglers dream of fishing. It only took Drew half the morning to cast his bait right 😆. Knocking that rust off... I do have a question Kris. Do you think you'll make anymore catfish floats again? I need more floats and i don't trust knock off muddy river floats that are out there.
Where are y’all at
My daughter still talks about meeting you at the Catfish conference a few years back. So glad that you guys got your river back.
One of the nicest big names I’ve met in the industry
The PA Whiska Fish boys will always watch the Muddy River gang!
Glad to see you in the muddy river
It would be a blast to come fish the muddy river .
Where do yall ffish
I was subscribed to you years ago. Don't know what happened but I subscribed again Chris
Heck yeah brother!! Good to see you and Drew back on the muddy river together
Very happy to see the muddy river is still alive and well, I know it's a special place for you. It's unique, tucked away in the bullrushes, protected from the wind, quiet and peaceful. And still has plenty of big flatheads! It's amazing how well river fish can live through periods of extreme low water, they know hidey holes to wait it out. Good for the river, good for you getting the flow back!
Hi 5 Chris. Some day I'll catch a big catfish like those. Good day.
Dude you are too much, I’d love to go fishing with you. You honestly have a good time no matter what. I’m glad to see you back out catching flatheads again in your old spots.❤
Man I miss fishing with Dryw, but I don't miss being around him when he casts a rod. You are a braver man than me Kris. Hahaha
It's been decades since I've caught a flathead. Our river here in kansas went bone dry. A lake in Colorado shut off the water flow and irrigation dropped the water tables to the point what used to be a thriving Arkansas river is a dirt bike trail now.
Did you stop making the catfish bobbers
Ive caught a lot of big fish in small waters, great video 💯💪🎣
Nice video brothers, thanks you guys .
Love seeing those beautiful flatheads. And to see you and Drew fishing the river. So glad it survived. ❤
Just an unbelievable body of water, so full of flattys! I am jealous!
keep up the good work and keep on fishingggggg you bring good content for the outdoors and adventures keep posting videos 🙏
I never caught a flathead but I have caught blue catfish that big. Good video guys.
Hey Kris! Nice to see you post a vid.. When you gonna do another live chat?
I have 2 questions. What spinning reels and line are you using? And I understand not sharing your fishing spot but can you tell me what river that is? Ive been watching you for like 10 years and I just gotta know.
@@pandemicthesick1 I use penn 6000 reels this was probably the pursuit ii. I use 65lb braided line from reaction tackle and I fish the Rio grande River in southern New Mexico. Thanks for watching!
@@muddyrivercatfishing your welcome brother one more question if that’s ok. I’m driving from far and I’m disabled I have mobility issues so I’ll be looking for somewhere to fine flat heads close to my car. And my question is I’m coming from Edgewood nm so would my best chance for a flathead be north or south of caballo lake on the Rio grande. Can you tell me that much?
Also do you still have your flat head rods available I wanted a custom one with my name on it but if not a regular one is fine a bait casting rod tho for my abu 6500.
I really want to get a guided trip but on a fixed income it’s hard saving money for it. But I will eventually hopefully
Man I wish I could come fish with you guys !!!!
I met drew me and my buddy about a week ago himand his dad good people im blessed to no this area

The absolute best
no hawk tuah 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great show!
Yes 🎉🎉 been a min
Awesome job
Glad to see you saved the muddy river! Looks like a beautiful place and would be a shame to see it dried up.
Just an idea Kris, you should catch a bunch of Flatheads and take them to a lake or pond you know of.
🎉🎉🎉🎉keep living the dream 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good to see this Chris! Love it brotha
