Mine is the center of my setup and absolutely love it! Feels like a classic like the D-50 did in the late 80s and I have no plans on ever getting rid of it.
Awesome, congrats with you're new beast! I got the 49 keys version and I do miss the extra 2 octaves! Hydrasynth is amazing. It has so many layers of complexity!
I called it! Congrats brother! Be sure to have fun with the step LFO as it can be a crazy sound design tool. Sending it to osc pitch or anywhere else. It also gives you an EXTENSIVE "hidden" sequencer.
Love it congrats! I recently got the ASM Explorer and love it as well. I have been making generative patches and then interact with other synths and pedals with it. Great for ambients tracks. I like the sounds so much I might get the deluxe or the Desktop model to add to it.
Nothing like waiting for the delivery guy when it's music gear. Before shipping updates it was all peeking out the window all day and listening for anything sounding lile a delivery truck!
Yes, and the sturdy but discreet tree hideout and the rifle painted leaf green, the hurried steps and panicked glances of the delivery guy. Amazing times.
This was on my shortlist for my primary instrument. It has such a unique design, and while I ultimately went with a different synth, I think the hydrasynth may actually be better suited for my ambient industrial drone efforts.
I've got a brand new one still in the box down in my basement waiting for me to get my studio set up after a bunch of work is done on the house...Simply cannot wait to get stuck into it!
I have the Explorer myself, because space and money constraints. At 8 voices, but some sound design capabilities (except bitimbrality) is still an amazing synth that is part of my setup and my main synth.
great choice, it should serve you well for years on its own and can be a great controller of external gear or software if you need to expand your sound pallette.
Summit is an excellent synth, I have one and the Hydra Deluxe, They pair quite well together. Once you get to grips with Hydrasynth workings the Deluxe is a power house of a synth. I have the Waldorf Iridium Keyboard too and that and the Deluxe where both steep learning curves for me. There's just so many possibilities, pretty much if you can imagine a sound, then you can make it. Truly endless possibilities for sound design.
Yea, this one's been on my list for a long time, but I am assuming a long learning curve before 100% understanding of this UI and engine. I really want the silver edition, but just don't have the time for it right now, still investing time in what I have. But as a practiced pianist the PAT is of great interest to me and will buy this eventually.
@@TravisAvey84 Last year after 57 years playing piano and the last 37 years playing digital pianos, dozens owned over the years. Finally got one I like the sound of, and it is not expensive. The Yamaha DGX-670 is one of the best sounding hardware pianos I have heard and played yet. I recommend the stand and 3pedal system for the whole experience. All for around $1000 US. The DGX series has been around for decades, but only this new one is any good. The new 670 has nothing to do with older versions, it is 100% changed and different and the only one out of the series worth buying. Had to wait a lifetime for the digital piano to sound like an acoustic, but it is finally here, although still not a perfect match to a fine grand acoustic, it is very good and I am happy...for the first time.
@funnzie awesome thanks! I think I’ve seen and touched that one at my local music store I’ll have to take a closer look and listen next time I’m there!
@ It is the sound through headphones, good ones I am hearing. The built-in speakers are okay, better than most all of them, but still not what this piano actually sounds like. Headphones like the Sony MDR 7506 for example, not expensive, but good sound value.
@@TravisAvey84I am teaming up the Hydra Deluxe and the Behringer ub-xa. Behringer will be my first analog. Love the Hydra Deluxe though. Has taught me so much about programming.
It is a wonderful digital instrument with an intuitive quick playground of adjustments. Wait until you explore the ribbon controller and its endless ability to be different. I find it one of the best to create new, unique sounds on. Only one I get equally excited with is the Pro 3 for entirely different reasons.
I've only scratched the surface of this thing and that includes the ribbon! I really want a Sequential/Dave Smith synth -- now I gotta look into the Pro 3!
@ I pulled the trigger on it! At least I’ll look cool while I’m trying to figure out how to turn it on! At the very least I can put it next to my car for emergencies at night haha
plot twist - this guy is actually a burglar. he broke into someone's home to steal whatever he could. they just happened to have synths and he just happens to be an amateur synth player and influencer. he'll later regret video recording his crime spree.
@@TravisAvey84 everything I heard so far is harsh metallic and/or wavetables with highly audible aliasing. May be I need to check it tomorrow on my own, but it seems the sound engine of ASM Hydrasynth is versatile but not amongst the warm and organic. That's exactly what I feel about Serum VST. Harsh. Sorry, do not want to spoil your new synth
@leonidvolkov no worries! Everyone has their tastes and likes-it works for the music i write. Still do want a Dave Smith instrument for that warm analog synth sound
The last synth I liked was the Virus Ti2 whiteout. Every other synth I have is from the 90s or 80s. There is none I like after the Virus. Probably because it would be redundancy. But still.... this synth.... meh. Not even for free.
Dear synth gods: If you were thinking giving this person a free Hydrasynth Deluxe and saw him just turn it down, please consider me. This would make the perfect controller for my Deckard's Dream.

Looks like i am going to need to stay Hydrated if i am going to battle Hydra. Excellent AV!!!
Thanks! I always have water nearby ready!
Nice dude, been eyeing hydrasynth for a while too. ONE DAY! Enjoy!
Thanks! It's an awesome synth--don't forget to check reverb for used synths!
Congratulations on your purchase of the Hydrasynth Deluxe. It is a great synth.... 🙂
Thanks! So far I really like it!
Thanks for sharing this especially for those unfortunate enough to never receive, unopen and unbox a New Hydrosynth Deluxe..
Yeah-there’s something about unboxing!

Thanks! Have a split is great-having the low end a different patch is great for most types of music, which I think is great for ambient
I’ve got a Deluxe as well. One of the best user interfaces out there.
It’s really great! Love the macro knobs, great idea
So pretty!
It is!

Yeah, for me it suited my needs better (ambient and even synthwave). It was probably a better choice over the OB-6, although I still want one lol...
Perfect choice, super versatile synth.
Thanks! As much as I wanted an OB-6 this probably fits me better!
