Blackwater River, WV - Healthy Flow

The Blackwater has somewhat of a cult following as it is fairly unique to most of the East Coast's whitewater. The river feels more remote, more continuous, and longer than most rivers East of the Mississippi. I can attest to the quality and the fact that this river lives up to its name. At these flows of 650+cfs the river is fast, quality, and just hard enough to keep you stoked, entertained, and challenged all at the same time. (These traits are actually quite difficult to find in a river) Little White, South Yuba, Middle Kaweah, Icicle Creek, Golden Gate, Puesco, all these rivers fit the mold and come to mind while running the Blackwater at proper flows.
The following morning I paddled with Jared Seiler and Matt at flows of 280-300cfs and while remaining quality in the steepest sections the majority of the river looses some of its feel and flow (no pun). Still fun, but not top of the class like it feels above 500-600! Hope you guys enjoy some raw footage of our beautiful evening run.
