Doomsday Origins - The Entity Who Killed Superman, Humanoid Embodiment Of Pure Rage And Evil

- Doomsday is one of Superman’s arch-nemesis who is equally strong as Superman if not more. We have all seen his wrath in “Batman Vs Superman- Dawn Of Justice” and also in the animated series. After having its first appearance in Death of Superman, creators have experimented with his backstory providing a necessary origin. After genetic mutations in Krypton, Doomsday was bred for war and was the only creature who could defeat Superman. In Batman, The Devastator series, Batman from negative Earth 1 had injected himself with the Doomsday virus to stop Superman from killing Lois Lane. Pretty messed upright. Well in this parallel universe Superman had killed millions and was about to kill Lois Lane but Batman saved her by becoming Doomsday and killing Superman. This concludes that Doomsday is indeed capable enough to take down Superman. Along with raw strength and laser eyes, this unstoppable behemoth can adapt his physical form to overcome and destroy anything and anyone in his path. In the series “Death of Superman,” he was responsible for killing superman which was later contradicted as superman was revived in the fortress of solitude. Whatever the storyline is if this character appears then there is a bumpy ride for all the DC superheroes. In today’s video we will be digging up Doomsday origins and also its appearances and wrath and so let's begin.

Doomsday is literally the greatest antagonist to have ever been created. His ability of regeneration and reactive adaption make him incredibly difficult to fight; simply because of his feats, what he stands for, and who his arch-nemesis is, he is and always will be m #1 favorite supervillain of all time. Anybody who goes up against Doomsday is literally dead because he adapts to his opponents' abilities and could if unleashed in different universe be literally unstoppable. Doomsday's potential is unstoppable and nothing can stop him.
Cosmic armor super man is way powerful than doomsday.....super man prime is way powerful than doomsday....it just means they don't put doomsday against these version of super man....or he'll be completely dead....no coming back.... this is why they don't want to put him against these versions.

Yet few people in reality even know who this character is. The greatest VILLANS of all time are The Joker, Darth Vader. Lex Luther, Thanos.
Doomsday was completely shoehorned into the story just to kill superman.
And it was the best story in years!
And it made sense none the less hes the ultimate badass for a reason.
Honestly, he's a fantastic villain. We've seen what happens when you overtune heroes to the point of utter nonsense, take a look at Wally West and the Speed Force a gimmick so overtuned it can literally re-write the plot so why would anyone give a shit about it? Hell take a look at Supes himself doing PIS like lifting a blackhole. This is how you really show the limits of a hero by putting the fear of death into them and Doomsday did that incredibly well and is a monster to be feared.
@Friendly Neighbourhood Phantom Thief I'm glad that he turned out to be a good villain. Maybe he was shoehorned in but good writers will take what they're given and bring value to a character.
Doomsday is the ultimate evolutionary creature. He will always evolve and become invincible/immune to whatever killed him before even powerful magic. That makes him one of the most scariest villain to fight physically.
When has Doomsday ever evolved beyond a magical power?
@@richcapo What I meant is that if he is killed by magic, be it a spell, weapon, or any magical attacks, he comes back immune to whatever killed him.
@@XGlite015, he didn’t come back from Imperiex Prime - he had to be rebuilt by Lex Luthor and Darkseid - and he didn’t come back from Superman ripping him to shreds.
Everything has its limits, even Doomsday, and he has never been depicted as capable of evolving past any magic force.
@@richcapo Because he was hit by something more powerful than anything he encountered before. Imperiex is a universal threat. Doomsday would've comeback on his own, but it would take a very very very long time. Never read about Superman ripping Doomsday apart, maybe that story is non-canon, a writer's mistake, or not the original Doomsday.
@@XGlite015 , there’s nothing in the comics that suggests Doomsday would have come back from Imperiex’s blast on his own, just like there’s nothing in the comics that suggests Doomsday could have survived entropy (Brainiac rescued him before the entropy could do its business on him).
The Doomsday Superman tears in half is the most powerful version of Doomsday we have ever seen. He is the adult form of the beast and commands, in addition to his standard powers, death spores, life drain, and molecular disintegration abilities. Additionally, he is strong enough to break Wonder Woman’s arms with one hit and his strength transcends the physical, as demonstrated when he shatters the dimensional fabric of the Phantom Zone to rip a hole between the PZ and material space.
It is general Zod. It rhymes with god. Not Zode which rhymes with mode. I like the subject of many of your videos but this continued mispronunciation of names sounds like nails on a chalkboard.
I first saw him as one of the bosses in the SNES game: The Death and Return of Superman, which is based on said comic arc.
Out all of DC villains doomsday is my favorite cause he killed superman and was the only one to do it. And cause he can only be killed once by whatever you killed him with and next time he comes back to life he becomes ammune to it the next time. Hulk and doomsday are my two favorites from DC and marvel.

Doomsday is a beast. He has almost beat Darkseid to death. It was said by the writer it was the real darkseid. When doomsday got intelligence. Gog was killing numerous versions of superman. Doomsday fought a hundred year war and even gave up his intelligence so gog would go back and reset it. But like most characters in DC. They ended up making doomsday weaker so now he is barely a challenge for Superman.

how doomsday should have been unveiled in the dc cinematic universe:
credits roll after each film (batman v superman wouldve had a different villain). and at the very end, it cuts to a peaceful field.
however, a deep rumble coming from underground is heard.
next film: the rumble gets louder, cuts to a brief shot of a hand covered in spines that pounds on a wall.
next film: the earth starts to shake and it cuts to the arm pounding furiously. clangclangclangclang.
finally:the wall gives way, revealing the structure to have been a ship, which then explodes. a tall, humanoid figure clad only in a containment suit with its arm exposed stands at the burning wreckage, it holds out his hand.
a curious bird lands on its hand....only to be crushed to bits while inhuman laughter erupts from the creature, doomsday, ominous droning music would then start, setting up the conflict for the next film.
that... should have been movie doomsday.

That Superman didn't exactly leave Doomsday lying around to regenerate. He was locked into a machine, I'd lay odds red solar energy, plus he may be impervious to harm but not necessarily bioscans.

I still have that Death of Superman comic still in its original wrapping. I bought 2 just to read it. I remember the whole world shuddering at the news, and the nerds threatening to revolt in an effort to preserve the canon. Then they realized that it was well thought out...😂

Doomsday is cool villian and all but can't be killed is over-reaching and driving things into a corner.
I get why they added no kill rule for batman in silver/golden age since they couldn't come up with new one each time.
Seriously a guy who can't be killed by anything as he revive each time stronger kinda makes it redundant since u know he will come back , atleast come up with a final solution since u really can't use that kind of char where he becomes op/Nerf just to get buff again , feels like lazy writing that's all.

I'm not a DC comic reader, or too much of a fan about superheroes in rediculous-looking, or uniquely inspiring uniforms... But I like heroes and superheroes featured in films and comics.
Brilliant lore and storylines of evolution of this incredibly godlike powerful monster.
Superman has amazing books too. The writers of today just are the wrong ones writing certain stories. Look up some grant morrison written superman books and you get gold.

I guess the question to ask is killing itself considered an evil act if it is clearly done for nothing more then to fulfill ones hatred of life?
@@Burning-Twilight It certainly hates. I think a more nuanced question is "Does it think like a sapient being?" He comes off more like a rabid animal with a brain than the sort of intelligence we'd recognize. And when in that mental state, does that hatred and those actions count as evil?
Think like D&D's tarrasque. An engine of destruction, but not really anything else.

@@Firstsurugi Really while it's been a while since I read The Death of Superman event, I don't really recall it showing him actually enjoying the act of killing. It seemed like he was doing it more as if it was in his nature to do it. But again it's been awhile since I read it.

My own version of Doomsday is called "Perfect Doomsday" from a future crossover battle against both the Avengers and Justice League. His DNA would be combined with that of the strongest members of both hero teams:
Electrokenisis: Doomsday can create red electric shockwaves like BVS: Dawn of Justice.
Rage empowerment: Because of the angry bloodthirsty Doomsday is, the more powerful he gets that possibly surpasses that of Hulk's due to him being careful not to get too angry.
Immunity meaning he cannot feel any threats either physical or magical.
Average human intelligence: Although he has a feral mind, Doomsday can be quite smart.
Heat vision: Doomsday can produce extreme levels of heat that shoot out from his eyes and mouth.

But I have never heard of “ZOAD”.
I remember when DC made such a big deal about the so called ‘Death’ of Superman back in 1992/1993 and the overzealous hype that had the fans (especially those new to comic collecting) fighting for a copy of the black bagged Superman #75 with the obituary, Daily Planet, T-Shirt and armband; even Wizard Magazine at the time warned speculators & investors as DC over reprinted the issue and that at best it’ll eventually be worth no more than $9.00.
Then the Big Blue Boy Scout returned (of course) and those self same fans felt they were had.
As this ish came at the time Marvel’s X-Men #1 and X-Force #1 came out, some other fans poked fun at the DC ad asking: “Where Were YOU the Day Superman Died?”
At least Supes did get Round Two with Grusome in Superman: Predator and Prey when he learned that Doomsday was alive and got obsessed over ending him permanently.
Still, Doomsday did come out as a gimmick; it would’ve made for more gravitas had it been Lex Luthor who did kill the Man of Steel, or had it been the Joker (or even R’as Al Ghoul) who engineered Knightfall instead of a then newbie like the drug addict Bane.
Bane was the perfect one to start knightfall. Period and I love the Joker as a character. But he does not have the mental accumen like Bane does.
I always chuckle when someone says I have x copies of the death of superman, in climate controlled storage in triple vacuum sealed bags. isnt that special, good luck getting maybe $10-20 for all of those copies

in the serie kripton, if you watched the series he was a sapient being that slowly started to lose his sanity and humanity and to gain a disdain for all life especially kryptonian born life like its comic counterpart(the trauma the embryo suffered on the surface of primordial kripton was so bad it was encoded on its very own dna generating the trauma over life in the universe and one of the reason on why he cannot be killed twice)
The thing about Doomsday that doesn't make sense to me, where does he resurrect? How? Like if there are multiple pieces of him, which piece resurrects? Every time he comes back where does he come back from?
Well the main thing to know about Doomsday is he doesn't have vital organs so he doesn't need any specific piece of him in order to live (besides possibly his brain but even that's been retconned a few times) presumably he can resurrect with any soft skin tissue or atom as implied by his death after Imperiex.
