It always seems like the McCulloch 10 series always had more power to them. I see you removed the one comment about the guy saying you need to stop cutting before the end of the log. The only time you do that is if the log is on the ground, so you don't put chain into the dirt.

It was, but only on the second cut; both saw's first cuts were the same speed at 5.6 seconds... The 700's second cut took one second longer for some reason.
@@jameswhetstone8111 Yes, the 7-10 was definitely smoother, and it sounds better (louder) too. I'm sure Parker and I will cut more wood once it warms up.
7-10a wins! My 7-10a has a manufacturing date of November 1970. No chain brake and the old style muffler. But I’m thinking of updating to electronic ignition. Hotter spark.

Times were 5.65, 5.36 cutting at 7560 RPM on the 7-10,
and 5.87, 6.93 cutting at 9300 RPM on the pro Mac 700

I actually didn't remove it; either the author of that comment or YT removed it.
I agree though 100%. Full throttle all the way through the log.

Both of these chains are round filed. I have seen the 700 with a yellow clutch cover, and I believe that is an earlier version.

happysaws my perception was the first saw was faster. St least it looked smoother. Good comparison. Best would have been competition with Mr. Jameson.

Will Pro Mac 700 chain cover fit in the 710A? Need to replace my 710 chain cover and it is the only one I could find
