Terrific game ! Part of the pleasure of watching your videos comes from your obvious love and enthusiasm for those games, which are quite communicative 😃 Looking forward to more Old Masters games 😍
Ah great! Glad you enjoy this series! I really do like going over stuff I saw in books as a kid and then seeing how different the games look with engine insights... as well as discovering so much new stuff I'd never seen before!
This is a fantastic struggle, the position set alight by Soultanbeieff's daring opening piece sacrifice and astounding 22...Rf3!! Stahlberg holds firm but stumbles late in an opposite-coloured bishops endgame. However Soultanbeieff misses his chnace and the game ends in a well-deserved draw!
I found your reaction to Soultanbeieff's Nxe4 sac interesting. When I saw Nxe4, I started cracking up, thinking, "wow, what a hilarious troll", while you mentioned that Black's pawn mass looked "worrying." I guess you were thinking more, "I'm up a piece but maybe have some difficulties; +1.5 ish", while I was thinking "I have more horse in opening. +3"
the central pawn mass reminds me of a very funky line in the benko that goes 1. d4 Nf6 c4 c5 d5 b5 Qc2 bxc4 e4 e6 Nc3 exd5 e5 and the engine recommends to sac the knight with Bb7

Yeah! You held your promise and showed this game.
I have replayed it dozens of times but I had never spotted that wonderful Bf4! defense...
😊😊😊😊Yes it's a shocking resource! I stared at it for minutes before the penny finally dropped!
Great insight and analysis as ever, especially comparing all the opening lines and endgame possibilities. Much appreciated.
Thanks! 😊😊😊

Ah yes that's a nice one indeed!
This is a bit of an odd question, but why do you put the result of the game in the titles?
Ah I was asked to by a viewer!
