- In today's vlog we head to Disney's EPCOT for the annual Festival of the Arts to try more new menu items! Check out our opening vlog too, to see even more new menu items! We also check out the art and the performers while trying foods! We found the worst item of the whole festival (in our opinion!) but we also tried some really delicious menu items too! From a former festivals cast member, the reason a lot of the items you guys got were priced so bad is because they weren’t priced by Disney. Any location that doesn’t wear a green shirt (mexico, France, Italy, Japan, and China) are third party locations partnered with the restaurant at that pavilion. So those companies just super overcharge every year. Kinda sucks but 🤷🏻♀️
That actually makes a lot of sense. Not only do they need to recoup their time and cost of food/equipment, etc. I’m sure they are paying Disney a lot just to be there.

Disney should get blamed for it. They are making the decision to run that part of their business that way. They could run all the locations if they wanted to. They also could cap the price the booths charge.
Hey Tim and family. Just wanted to thank you for putting a smile on my grandmas face for the past 6 years. She loved Disney and absolutely loved the videos you and Jen put together through the years. Double coincidence while watching this one tonight. I texted my husband "mm good soup" while eating soup and then Jen says the exact same thing seconds after. I then paused to get mint chip ice cream for dessert, come back and Tim says mint chocolate chip ice cream is one of the best desserts. Just synced up with this one tonight 😂

The deconstructed French Onion Soup is the highlight of the festival for me. It's so creamy and the flavor is very well rounded. I would order 5 more if I went back!

My husband and I just moved away from Florida and I miss WDW so much (and the Florida AP perks). So glad to live vicariously through you guys and be able to be updated for whenever we visit again ✨

You guys should check out Raising House and Home's video. Her husband had two strokes at Epcot. They had to cut their Disney trip short and are finally going back this year. It is a really sweet story about Disney and their customer service. I suggested your channel and videos to her also.
Love this video! It does seem like all the prices have gone up significantly, but as somebody who owns a food-based business I can confidently say that almost all ingredients these days have almost doubled in price especially things like butter and eggs. That’s probably why the prices seem so astronomical on top of it just being typical expensive Disney prices!
Also Jenn, I noticed you've been throwing in a lot more J-cuts and they work great! Keeps up the pace and gives a fun vibe to the longer talking head/narration sequences. Just wanted to give you props on leveling up your editing game and let you know we're noticing it!

I think it's so sweet and thoughtful that disney decided to have the festival so that Jen could enjoy yummy food from all over the world while pregnant with baby boy. Lol, but for real thats awesome that Jen gets to enjoy such yummy small bites at Disney while growing another mini person.

Love you guys! Being a "transplant" from CA I appreciate the way you orient us where you are located at the park. Also, what thought process' have changed since becoming parents i.e: Tim went from not being a fan of bubbles to buying Jackson a bubble wand.
I’m wondering if that dish from Mexico is really plant based because refried beans are not usually plant based. They are usually made with animal lard. Might be why the sign didn’t have it marked that way. 🤷🏼♀️
Possibly but I think it is vegetarian and not vegan. The queso fresco is cheese, which makes it not plant based. Similar to the ravioli in Italy which doesn’t have meat, but does have cheese and is thus not listed as plant based

Black Forest gateaux was a classic dessert in the UK in the 80’s when I was growing up. It was my dads favourite and he always got if we went out for dinner, reminds me of him every time I see it.
Carne asada is usually made with adobe and lime and slightly grilled, so that’s what you are tasting. lime juice, garlic, cilantro, olive oil, and chiles is another marinade for carne asada.

That Black Forest cake looked amazing and is on my list to try. Everything looks so yummy. I really appreciate both of your honest when it comes to taste and value. I know everyone’s taste buds are different but it is nice to hear what the both of you thought of each dish. ❤❤

I was there on opening day as well. Went back yesterday. I love this festival! I was really bummed though. The short rib in Germany is so delicious and is one of my festival favorites, but I can’t get it this year. They can’t guarantee no cross contamination and I’m deathly allergic to cherries. When Jen said the Black Forest cake was a great way to end the day, all I could think of was how it would end my day for sure!

We went yesterday! Grilled cheese and tomato soup was delicious. So much good food and drinks.

The refried beans usually have lard in them so maybe thats why they didn’t label that dish from Mexico as vegetarian?

Jen, you can buy chocolate and strawberry mousse mixes at grocery store in the baking aisle. You could make your own layered mousse deserts at home. Just suggestion for at home vlog. Also you can make your own flan using box mix and they are pretty good.
The mochi sounds yummy and so does the last chocolate dessert you had. I've heard rave reviews of the hummingbird cake in America being superb. Disney definitely does their desserts well in my book.

Typically mochi isn't frozen its meant to be chewy and soft. But it does look good, interesting that they put mascarpone in it, because that is not traditional.

Disney usually calls items plant based when they’re vegan, they didn’t call that one plant based cause of the cheese.
36:16 My husband and I loved the braised short ribs last year. We ate it 2 times on our trip last year.
If it had beans on it it could of been cooked in lard which a lot of beans are. So that my be a reason it didn’t have the V on it! Just because it has beans on it doesn’t mean it’s vegetarian or vegan.
